NATO port in Crete under blockade by protesters !
« on: July 20, 2014, 06:35:04 AM »
Remember that Syrian chem disposal...  It's happening. This was not show on the local stations, neither will it...

Over 300 protesters made a blockade at the military area of Crete's NATO base on Saturday, occupying the ground in reponse to the storing of Syria's chemical weapons which were brought to the Greek island to be destroyed, January 2014.

More than 1000 chemical agents (520 tons) are due to be wiped out in international waters, at the Mediterranean Sea, between Greece, Malta and Italy, prompting Cretans to respond in anger.

The anti-chemical weapons activists say such weapons should be returned back to the countries and people who produced them, greatly fearing the impact of the hazardous chemical weapons, which contain sarin, mustard gas and sulphur.

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) says they have briefed international environmental groups, such as the World Wildlife Fund, Greenpeace and others, over the neutralisation process the chemical agents will go under to be eradicated.
