Homebuilders Come Clean – Admit Housing Market Optimism Has Collapsed

  • Homebuilders have finally started to face reality – or admit reality – slashing their optimism about the US housing market dramatically…
  • Against expectations of a 67 print, NAHB’s optimism index crash from 68 to 60 in November – its biggest drop since 2014 (to its lowest since Aug 2016) as the highest borrowing costs in eight years restrain demand, adding to signs of a cooling housing market.
  • Of course the ‘hard’ housing data has been collapsing for months…

“Rising mortgage interest rates in recent months coupled with the cumulative run-up in pricing has caused housing demand to stall,” NAHB Chief Economist Robert Dietz said in a statement accompanying the data.

“Given that housing leads the economy, policy makers need to focus more on residential market conditions.”

  • Optimism fell across al regions with The West and Northeast falling the most.

“The Outlook For The Global Economy Has Deteriorated”: Oil, Copper And Lumber Are All Telling Us The Next Economic Downturn Is Here

  • Oil, copper and lumber are all telling us the exact same thing, and it isn’t good news for the global economy.  When economic activity is booming, demand for commodities such as oil, copper and lumber goes up and that generally causes prices to rise.  But when economic activity is slowing down, demand for such commodities falls and that generally causes prices to decline.  In recent weeks, we have witnessed a decline in commodity prices unlike anything that we have witnessed in years, and many are concerned that this is a very clear indication that hard times are ahead for the global economy.
  •   The price of oil peaked in early October, but since that time it has fallen more than 25 percent, and the IEA is warning of “relatively weak” demand out of Asia and Europe

The International Energy Agency said on Wednesday that while US demand for oil has been “very robust,” demand in Europe and developed Asian countries “continues to be relatively weak.” The IEA also warned of a “slowdown” in demand in developing nations such as India, Brazil and Argentina caused by high oil prices, weak currencies and deteriorating economic activity.

“The outlook for the global economy has deteriorated,” the IEA wrote.

  • Meanwhile, the price of copper has been declining for quite some time now.  The price of copper also fell substantially just before the last recession, and many analysts are pointing out that “Dr. Copper” is now waving a red flag once again
  • The price of lumber is a “third witness” that indicates that big trouble is looming.
  • Last month, lumber dropped more than 10 percent, and that was the biggest monthly drop that we have seen in more than 7 years

In October, prices for softwood lumber in the U.S. dropped 10.3% – the largest decline since May 2011, according to the Producer Price Index (PPI) release by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The producer price index for softwood lumber has fallen 21.2% since setting the cycle and all-time high in June.

  •   the global economy is heading toward “a generalized slowdown”

  • Just when Deutsche Bank probably thought the worst of its legal troubles (over the Libor scandal, sales of shoddy mortgage-backed securities, FX and precious metal rigging which collective resulted in tens of billions in legal fines) were behind it, the struggling German lender is being drawn deeper into the biggest money laundering scandal in European history.
  • Following reports over the weekend that Deutsche, JPM and Bank of America had been approached by federal investigators about their correspondent banking business’s involvement in clearing transactions for Danske Bank’s Estonian branch, the whistleblower who helped blow the lid off Danske’s $234 billion money laundering scandal said during testimony to the Danish Parliament that $150 billion of the money had been cleared by a large European lender,

White House To Pull Acosta’s Pass Again After Temporary Court Order Expires

  • The White House will pull CNN correspondent Jim Acosta’s press credentials again after a 14-day temporary court-order expires, according to the network, which has asked for an emergency hearing to defend Acosta’s access.
  • “Friday’s court ruling means that a temporary restraining order is in effect for 14 days. But [White House] officials sent Acosta a letter stating that his press pass is set to be suspended again once the restraining order expires,” reports CNN’s Brian Stelter.

Broward County Election Supervisor Brenda Snipes Resigns…

  • Having facilitated years of election fraud; and having amassed significant wealth -via indulgency fees- from the benefactors therein; apparently the fiasco election of 2018 will be Brenda Snipes last.

Norris-Weeks said she saw an early draft of the letter. In the version she saw, she said Snipes, 75, expressed a desire to spend more time with her family.  The exact effective date of the resignation was unclear Sunday evening.  (read more)

By putting Brenda Snipes in the spotlight it exposed her, now she has no choice, either resign or be fired.

Trump considering changes in as many as five Cabinet positions

  • President Donald Trump said he is considering making changes in as many as five Cabinet positions
  • “I have three or four or five positions that I’m thinking about. Of that, maybe it’s going to end up being two. But I need flexibility,” Trump said.

Trump gives Whitaker free rein over Mueller probe: ‘It’s going to be up to him’

  • President Trump on Sunday said he is giving acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker free rein over special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, including limiting or shutting down the investigation.
  • “It’s going to be up to him,” Mr. Trump said

  •  the State of Maryland do all the heavy lifting (and reap all of the credit should it succeed) three of the most publicity hungry Democrats in the Upper Chamber are reportedly filing a federal lawsuit to challenge Acting AG Matthew Whitaker’s appointment, arguing that President Trump’s decision to elevate Whitaker over Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein using a controversial federal succession law was unconstitutional.

The suit, which is being filed by Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), and Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI) in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, is the latest and most aggressive salvo against the Whitaker appointment. Last week, the Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel defended Whitaker’s promotion in a memo that drew immediate criticism for its expansive understanding of the president’s power. That view is in hot dispute, including from the state of Maryland, which petitioned a federal judge to stop him from serving on constitutional grounds.

  • The Senators are working with two groups, Protect Democracy and the Constitutional Accountability Center, on the lawsuit. Their argument hinges on the notion that Whitaker wasn’t confirmed by the Senate, and is therefore ineligible to serve. Though he was confirmed years ago as US Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa under George W Bush, the suit argues that this confirmation has effectively lapsed. By comparison, the White House has argued that Whitaker’s position as chief of staff to Session constituted a “senior role” in the Department, making him eligible for elevation under the Vacancies Reform Act. What little precedent exists appears to favor Trump: Last year, a federal judge ruled in the White House’s favor when Trump use of the act to appoint Mick Mulvaney to lead the CFPB triggered Democratic resistance. The Democrats must also prove that they have “standing” to challenge Whitaker’s appointment – meaning that Whitaker’s appointment violated their rights.
  • Blumenthal,  said in a statement that Whitaker’s appointment was a flagrant violation.

“Installing Matthew Whitaker so flagrantly defies constitutional law that any viewer of Schoolhouse Rock would recognize it,” Blumenthal said in a statement. “President Trump is denying Senators our constitutional obligation and opportunity to do our job: scrutinizing the nomination of our nation’s top law enforcement official. The reason is simple: Whitaker would never pass the advice and consent test. In selecting a so-called “constitutional nobody” and thwarting every Senator’s constitutional duty, Trump leaves us no choice but to seek recourse through the courts.”

Geopolitical/Police State

Lets move onto the Khashogi murder, Trump is looking at the evidence and the CIA report, but Richard Blumenthal said something interesting, and we heard this before when Trump was coming into office. Remember when Trump did want to take the intelligence briefings,

  • President-elect Donald Trump said he does not need to receive the presidential intelligence briefing every day, suggesting in an interview aired Sunday that such briefings are repetitive and he is happy to rely on those around him on matters of intelligence and national security.
  • Trump has been given the daily intelligence briefing just a handful of times since winning the White House last month, alarming some in the national security community. But those briefings do not always change day to day, Trump told “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace in an interview taped over the weekend. And when he does receive the briefing, Trump said he always instructs those offering him the information to contact him should new developments emerge.
  • You know, I’m, like, a smart person. I don’t have to be told the same thing in the same words every single day for the next eight years. Could be eight years — but eight years. I don’t need that,” Trump said. “But I do say, ‘If something should change, let us know.’”In lieu of receiving the daily briefings every day, Trump said the retired generals he has nominated for his Cabinet, James Mattis as secretary of defense and John Kelly as secretary of homeland security, are being regularly briefed. As is Vice President-elect Mike Pence, who Trump called “one of my very good decisions.”

  • Northbound commuters from Mexico trying to pass through the busiest land border crossing in the United States found themselves stuck in line for hours after US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials halted traffic in order to reinforce the border amid an arriving Central American migrant caravan, r .

  • [We] have temporarily suspended vehicle processing for northbound travelers at the San Ysidro port of entry Monday morning to position additional port hardening materials,” said border officials. “After the materials are in position, CBP will resume processing northbound vehicle traffic in select lanes at the border crossing.”

The caravan will not be climbing the walls along the border, barbwire is now installed.

Haiti Protesters Demand President’s Ouster

Thousands protest against corruption and demand the president’s ouster in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Nov. 18, 2018.

  • A national holiday meant to honor the 215th anniversary of the battle of Vertieres, a major victory for Haiti’s slaves in the war for independence against the French army, was marked by anti-corruption protests and calls for the president’s ouster Sunday.
  • Thousands took to the streets in the capital, Port-au-Prince and marched all around town shouting slogans, burning tires and in some instances flying black and red flags – in defiance of the country’s official red and blue banner. The black and red flag was replaced in 1986 when Haiti’s first democratically-elected president, Jean Bertrand Aristide, took power.
  • “We want justice!” another chimed in. Those words are the principal theme of the PetroCaribe protest movement. Protesters are demanding transparency from the government regarding the alleged misuse of $3.8 billion. The money, due to Haiti under the PetroCaribe oil alliances signed between Venezuela and Caribbean nations starting in June 2005, had been earmarked for infrastructure and social and economic projects.

Bin Laden’s Obituary Notice

  • A Funeral Notice for Osama bin Laden was published on December 26, 2001, in the Egyptian newspaper al-Ward. An English translation is provided below. Anyone fluent in Arabic is invited to verify or correct the translation. This item was sent to me from a reader abroad.
  • Also below are is a CNN interview with its medical correspondent who examines the last non-faked video of bin Laden and concludes that bin Laden is seriously ill.
  • There is also below a 2002 report that Israeli intelligence has concluded that bin Laden is dead.
  • I cannot attest to the correctness of any of these reports, but it is unclear why there would be so much disinformation from such varied sources about bin Laden’s condition or what purpose is served.
  • You can use this information to evaluate the Obama regime’s unsubstantiated claim that Navy SEALs killed bin Laden in Pakistan a decade later.
  • Try to identify a single event that the US government has not lied about. Weapons of mass destruction? Iranian nukes? Assad’s chemical attack? Spying on Americans? 9/11? The assassination of President John F. Kennedy? The unemployment rate?

News of Bin Laden’s Death and Funeral 10 days ago
    Islamabad –
  • A prominent official in the Afghan Taleban movement announced yesterday the death of Osama bin Laden, the chief of al-Qa’da organization, stating that binLaden suffered serious complications in the lungs and died a natural and quiet death.
  • The official, who asked to remain anonymous, stated to The Observer of Pakistan that he had himself attended the funeral of bin Laden and saw his face prior to burial in Tora Bora 10 days ago. He mentioned that 30 of al-Qa’da fighters attended the burial as well as members of his family and some friends from the Taleban.
  • In the farewell ceremony to his final rest guns were fired in the air. The official stated that it is difficult to pinpoint the burial location of bin Laden because according to the Wahhabi tradition no mark is left by the grave. He stressed that it is unlikely that the American forces would ever uncover any traces of bin Laden.

Who was Bin Laden’s handler?

Michael Scheuer or Ray Davis of CIA

Why was the Clowns In America tasked to hunt/kill/capture UBL?

Because the CIA was handling him and did not want MI to take him out prematurely, if at all.

Why not MI?

Because Usama Bin Laden would have been apprehended and returned to the US for interrogation and trial. Intelligence gained would have exposed CIA’s and other bad actors’ involvement in funding, training, arming and assisting terrorism.

If we found UBL, eliminated his security, why would we immediately kill him and not take him alive?

MI would have taken him alive. CIA wanted him silenced

Why wouldn’t we want to capture UBL alive and extract other possible T-level events?

CIA would not want that because then their plans would be exposed.
