In this report we will discuss the current economic collapse news. Part 5 Of The Series: “Out Of An Economic Collapse The People Rise Up!” In addition to the current news we will compare the past 1929 Great Depression to the current Economic situation. We will analyze the past to predict the future.
- Barack Obama promised before he became president to revamp veterans affairs so that fewer of America’s wounded warriors would have to wait upwards of a year for their benefits. Instead, the number of those waiting for help from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has exploded by 2,000%
- U.S. strategic nuclear weapons and the command systems that control them are vulnerable to cyber attacks although most are hardened against many types of electronic attacks, the commander of the U.S. Strategic Command said on Tuesday.
- Air Force Gen. C. Robert Kehler said during a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee that nuclear weapons and the communications used to control them are older and thus less vulnerable to disruption by computer network attacks.
- “However, we are very concerned with the potential of a cyber related attack on our nuclear command and control and on the weapons systems themselves,” Kehler said. “We do evaluate that.
- “You always have to be careful with war analogies — there’s a big difference between them engaging in cyber espionage or cyber attacks and, obviously, a hot war,” Obama told ABC News in the interview, which was taped on Tuesday but aired on Wednesday.
- “What is absolutely true is that we have seen a steady ramping up of cyber security threats.”
- Some of the threats are “absolutely” sponsored by governments, he said. “Some are state sponsored. Some are just sponsored by criminals.”
- “We’ve made it very clear to China and some other state actors that, you know, we expect them to follow international norms and abide by international rules,” Obama said, adding that Washington has already had “some pretty tough talk” with other countries.
- Chase, JP Morgan continually getting attacked.
- Retail sales advanced 1.1% in February to mark the biggest gain in five months, the Commerce Department said Wednesday. Economists polled by MarketWatch expected retail sales to jump 0.7%.
- The figures suggest that consumer spending — the linchpin of the economy — is holding steady despite a spike in gasoline prices and higher payroll taxes in 2013. Many economists worried that spending would sag early in the year and act as a drag on U.S. growth.
My Memory of the Great Depression – first hand story of someone who lived during the Great Depression
Ben Bernanke Quotes
“One myth that’s out there is that what we’re doing is printing money. We’re not printing money.”
“I don’t think that Chinese ownership of U.S. assets is so large as to put our country at risk economically.”
(Two months before Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac collapsed and were nationalized) “They will make it through the storm.”
We will look at the past to predict the future. Here is a breakdown of what was happening in 1929 compared to what is happening today.
|The Great Depression (1929)||Prior To The Economic Collapse And The Economic Collapse Scenario (Present)|
|Top tax rate is raised from 25 to 63 percent.||Future Scenario: President make an announcement that the country is making great improvements but to continue these economic improvements only the top earners who make $450,000 or more will need to raise the tax rate to 70%.|
|People are constantly hungry living for days on stale buns and bread or “toppings” and frequently going without food at all. Recalled Clifford St. Martin, who was on the bum from 1931 to 1938: “When I woke in the morning I worried about something to eat. After breakfast I worried about where to go. In the afternoon, I’d more worry about getting food. When it started to get dark, it was time to worry about a place to sleep.”||Future Scenario: Since local law enforcement is non- existent, DHS patrols the streets but the numbers of troops are dwindling. More home are being broken into and many people are going hungry or just eating whatever scraps they can find. Families are roaming the streets begging for food and more gangs are springing up especially in the big cities. Living in the cities at this time is very dangerous and most people are leaving and moving out to the suburbs. Huge tent settlements are popping up and every day. Steve said that “every day I worry how I am going to feed my family, I never could believe this would happen to me. One day I was fine, I had a home, cars, heat, tv and the next day everything was gone. There were no warning signs that this would happen, none at all”|
|300 grew to over 20,000 veterans, they slowly shuffled up and down Pennsylvania Avenue for three days in a protest local newspapers titled the ‘Death March.’||Future Scenario: More Veterans were now in Washington DC. More than 45,000 were camped out demanding benefits. Many veterans did not have weapons because they diagnosed with PSTD known as the “Feinstein Weapon Safety Act”, but they arrived with bats, chains, hammers and rocks. The Veterans marched peacefully for 3 days.|
|Concern grew that the Bonus Army Marchers could cause widespread civil disorder and violence. There were scuffles with the police and some Senators’ cars were stoned by unruly crowds of veterans. Retired Marine General Smedley Butler, an immensely popular figure among veterans and who had become a vocal opponent of the Hoover Administration, participated in Bonus Army demonstrations and made inflammatory speeches (He would be approached in 1933 by Fascist sympathizers in the American Legion, who would try to involve him in an actual plot to seize power in a coup d’état.).||Future Scenario: Armed forces that are setup all around Washington had small scuffles with the Veterans but at this point the Veterans have been very peaceful and only vocal. A government official tells the Veterans to disperse and return to their homes. If they stay they will be considered a militia and they would be considered an enemy of the government. More troops arrived. Veterans became angrier demanding their benefits. A retired General gave a speech to the Veterans to stand their ground; “we are fighting for the Constitution and our Rights”. Many Veterans are plotting to replace the current government and they are trying persuade the retired General to lead them.|
|President considered the Bonus Army Marchers a threat to public order and his personal safety. Contrary to tradition, he did not attend the closing ceremonies for that session of Congress on July 16 and many members left the Capitol building through underground tunnels to avoid facing the demonstrators outside.||Future Scenario: The President and the rest of the government see the Veterans lead by the retired General as a threat. Many officials left through tunnels before the conflict. More troops were called in to control the Veterans. The press was reporting that the Veterans were violent and attacking officials as they tried to get to their cars. For this reason the Government has information that the Veterans were planning to overthrow the government. The Veterans are now considered terrorists and under the NDAA will be arrested.|
|Two veterans were shot and killed by panicked policemen in a riot at the bottom of Capitol Hill. This provided the final stimulus. Hoover told Patrick Hurley, the Secretary of War, to tell General Douglas Macarthur, then the Army Chief of Staff, that he wished the Bonus Army Marchers evicted from Washington. Troops from nearby Forts Myer and Washington were ordered in to remove the Bonus Army Marchers from the streets by force. One battalion from the 12th Infantry Regiment and two squadrons of the 3rd Cavalry Regiment (under the command of Major George S. Patton, who had taken over as second in command of the Regiment less than three weeks earlier) concentrated at the Ellipse just west of the White House. At 4:00 p.m. the infantrymen donned gas masks and fixed bayonets, the cavalry drew sabres, and the whole force (followed by several light tanks) moved down Pennsylvania Avenue to clear it of people.||Future Scenario: Even with the internet kill switch enabled news started to spread across America of a General who was fighting in Washington. In other parts of the country this spurred the already forming militias to increase in size and other militias starting to form. They all wanted to join the General in Washington. All those men and women who hid or kept their weapons started to take them out. The General had no choice but to retreat, the Veterans did not have weapons and he knew that bats, rocks and chains were no match for the armed troops. Some of the Veterans started to fight and small skirmishes broke out. As more troops arrived dressed in full body armor they pushed the Veterans out of Washington.|
|The possibility of widespread civil unrest growing into a popular revolution had been averted, but the forceful eviction of the Bonus Army Marchers, even though not one shot had been fired and only four people killed (the two demonstrators who had been shot by the police and two infants asphyxiated by tear gas), tilted public opinion against Hoover and ensured that he would lose the upcoming election.||Future Scenario: Only a few Veterans were hurt and no one was killed. Civil unrest was growing across the country and the General was secretly mobilizing the militias. Those with and without weapons were joining. The people had enough and, they nothing else to give. The President gave another speech that terrorists have infiltrated the country. He called everyone to ban together and if you see something to report them. He stated, if you see a person with a gun, report them, if you see them in secret talks report them, if they are part of a group report them.|
|Top tax rate is raised to 79 percent.||Future Scenario: The tax rate was raised again to 90%. The Fed is printing more money than ever before. The dollar continuously loses value. Those who purchased gold and silver are now hiding it from the government because of the Executive Order that was signed. Hunger, disease is now running throughout the tent cities. Medical care is hard to come by.|
|During the Great Depression, Hitler withdraws from the League of Nations. In the following months, he trebles the size of the German Army and ignores the arms restrictions imposed by the Treaty of Versailles. After the death of President Hindenburg, Hitler becomes “Fuehrer and Reich Chancellor” and abolishes the title of President. Hitler re-arms Germany with the aim of undoing the Treaty of Versailles and uniting all the German peoples.||Future Scenario: North Korea and South Korea are fighting and shooting at each at the border. The fighting between China and Japan is escalating quickly. Israel is now engaged with Iran and shooting at the border intensifies. Israel flies their planes over Iran and invades their airspace. America is backing them and has ships and planes on the ready.|
