This is concerning:
Non-farm payroll employment in Q2 2024 actually declined by -0.1% instead of growing +1.1% as initially reported by the BLS.

- analysis. Fed estimates revealed that employment was lower in 25 states, higher in 2 states, and remained the same in 23 states. This should result in another large downward revision as seen in August when the jobs number was revised lower by -818,000. After “strong” labor market data beats expectations, they are revised massively lower several months later. What is happening here?
The global Fed pivot continues:

- The document outlines plans for a U.S. bitcoin reserve—predicted to generate $16 trillion to $81 trillion, offset the U.S. national debt that’s spiraled to just over $36 trillion this year and “solidify the U.S. dollar as the foundation of the 21st-century digital financial system.”
- 12/23 update: U.S. president-elect Donald Trump has appointed former college football player Bo Hines as the executive director of the newly created presidential council of advisers for digital assets, known as the “crypto council.”
- “In his new role, Bo will work with David to foster innovation and growth in the digital assets space, while ensuring industry leaders have the resources they need to succeed,” Trump wrote in a post on his social media platform Truth Social, referring to tech investor David Sacks, the recently appointed White House artificial intelligence and crypto czar.
- U.S. senator Cynthia Lummis has introduced a bitcoin reserve bill to Congress, suggesting the U.S. Treasury purchases 200,000 bitcoin every year until the reserve reaches one million bitcoin.
- Among other eye-catching numbers, Saylor’s pitch envisions expanding “global digital capital markets from $2 trillion to $280 trillion, with U.S. investors capturing the majority of this wealth,” and driving “growth in digital assets (beyond bitcoin) from $1 trillion to $590 trillion, with the United States dominating this industry.”
- As the bitcoin and crypto market booms, it will create “massive demand for U.S. Treasuries,” according to Saylor, referring to stablecoin issuer Tether’s huge U.S. Treasuries stockpile that’s helped it record profits of $10 billion in 2024.

Prevention: DHS works to increase public awareness and partner with various sectors to prevent human trafficking.
-
Protection: DHS offers protections like immigration relief (e.g., T visas for trafficking victims) and victim assistance programs.

If Mexican cartels are officially designated as FTOs by the U.S. Department of State, this would invoke various legal measures, including:
-
Material Support Statutes: Providing material support to an FTO becomes a criminal offense, allowing for broader prosecution powers.

- Less than a week after a 15-year-old girl shot and killed two at a Madison, Wisconsin, Christian school, CNN went all in to shame fathers out of buying hunting rifles for their sons.
- In an attempt to bolster their position, CNN said, “For example, the teenage school shooting suspects in Oxford, Michigan, and Winder, Georgia, allegedly used firearms they had received as Christmas gifts from their parents, and those parents have faced criminal charges.”
- CNN did not mention that the gun used in the Oxford incident was a handgun, not a hunting rifle, and the gun used in the Winder incident was a gun the father gave the son while allegedly not monitoring the son’s access to it. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation noted that the charges against the father in the Winder incident “stem from [the father] knowingly allowing his son … to possess a weapon.”
- CNN concluded the article by repeating the false claim that guns are the “leading cause of death for US children.” This false statement has been pushed by President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and numerous Hollywood leftists. The claim is based on numbers which include people of voting age — 18- and 19-year-olds — as “children.”

Mexico is definitely known for having no murder problems, so obviously that policy is working great. https://t.co/P7V7EDpe0n

-
According to the Vision of Humanity’s Mexico Peace Index for 2024, there has been an improvement in peacefulness, but organized crime-related homicides remain high. In 2023, 70.2% of homicides were committed with a gun, marking the highest rate on record. This trend suggests that gun crimes in 2024 would likely follow or even exceed this pattern unless there’s a significant change in policy or criminal behavior.
- The “Damming the Iron River” report from Everytown Research mentions that from 2015 to 2022, more than 160,000 people were killed with a gun in Mexico. Given that a significant percentage of these firearms are traced back to the U.S., the ongoing flow of guns could contribute to maintaining or escalating gun crime rates in 2024.
- After President Trump noted there are issues with the Panama Canal management, costs and fees being paid by American transit companies for goods that flow through the canal, the President of Panama José Raúl Mulino hit back strongly.
- President Mulino is a conservative nationalist who won election seven months ago. Mulino did not like the implications of President Trump contemplating a renegotiation of the Panama Canal Treaty, with ownership and management given by the USA to Panama in 1999. Mulino hit back releasing a video statement [SEE HERE] with the transcript of his remarks below:
- “As President, I want to express clearly that every square meter of the Panama Canal and its adjacent area belongs to Panama, and will continue to do so. The sovereignty and independence of our country are not negotiable.
- Every Panamanian, here or anywhere in the world, carries it in their heart, and it is part of our history of struggle and an irreversible conquest.
- The Torrijos-Carter Treaties of 1977 agreed to the dissolution of the former Canal Zone, recognizing Panamanian sovereignty and the complete transfer of the Canal to Panama, which ended on December 31, 1999. And we will soon celebrate the 25th anniversary of this transfer. Since then, there have been no objections or claims; on the contrary, it has been a source of strong international support and national pride. It was operated and expanded by Panamanian decision and today represents a great asset that contributes billions of dollars to our economy.

- of the US to take over if neccessary.
-
The treaty stipulates that the canal will remain neutral and open to peaceful transit by vessels of all nations on terms of entire equality. Under Article IV of the Neutrality Treaty, the United States has the right to take measures to reopen the canal or to maintain its permanent neutrality if it is closed or if its operation is interfered with in any way that threatens this neutrality.
-
Types of Disruption:
-
Military Threats: If there’s a military threat to the canal’s operation or neutrality, the U.S. is authorized to use military force to protect it. This could include actions by any nation or non-state actors attempting to block or control the canal.
-
Political or Civil Unrest: If Panama’s government or internal conflicts lead to a situation where the canal’s operation is significantly disrupted or its neutrality is compromised, the U.S. might intervene to ensure the canal remains open and functional.
-
Operational Failures: While less clear, if the canal’s operation is severely disrupted due to mismanagement, natural disasters, or technical failures that threaten its neutrality or functionality, the U.S. might claim the right to intervene to restore operations, although this is more interpretative and would likely involve diplomatic efforts first.
-
-
The exact nature of what constitutes a “disruption” that warrants U.S. intervention has been subject to interpretation. The treaty does not define every scenario explicitly, meaning any real-world application would be based on negotiations, mutual understanding, or potentially unilateral U.S. action justified under the treaty’s terms.
- President-elect Donald Trump said he wants the US to own and control Greenland — a desire he made known during his first presidential term — as he announced his pick for US ambassador to Denmark on Sunday.
- “For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity,” Trump said in a statement on Truth Social.
- His comments on Greenland came in the same statement Trump used to announce he has selected PayPal co-founder Ken Howery for the ambassadorship to Denmark.
- Leaders in Denmark were not jazzed about the president’s insistence. The island has autonomous self-rule but is still within the Kingdom of Denmark.
- China has invested in Greenland’s mining sector. Notably, Chinese companies like Shenghe Resources have substantial investments in companies like Greenland Minerals Limited, which controls the Kvanefjeld Project, rich in rare earth elements, zinc, and uranium.
-
There have been proposals from Chinese companies for infrastructure development, such as the attempt by China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) to bid for airport construction in Greenland. However, these bids have often been met with resistance from Denmark, fearing geopolitical implications.
-
The interest in Greenland largely stems from its potential in rare earth elements, where China holds a significant global market share. This aligns with China’s broader strategy to secure resources vital for technology and defense industries.
-
China’s investments are part of a larger strategy to gain influence in the Arctic, where Greenland holds a pivotal position. This includes the notion of a “Polar Silk Road,” where Greenland could serve as a node.

- A letter signed by nearly 100 “national security professionals” against Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence contains smears rather than facts, according to a closer review by Breitbart News.
- The letter was published earlier this month by Foreign Policy 4 America, a left-of-center, Soros-funded organization founded in response to President-elect Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016, according to InfluenceWatch.org.
- The letter, signed by a number of former Obama and Clinton administration officials and partisan retired military officers, claimed that following Gabbard’s trip to Syria in 2017, she “aligned” herself with Russian and Syrian officials.
- It said, “She publicly cast doubt on U.S. intelligence reports and overwhelming public reporting that Assad carried out chemical weapons attacks against Syrian civilians, giving credence to the debunked conspiracy that the attack was staged by agents of the United Kingdom.”
- Rather, after her trip to Syria, Gabbard did not say she did not believe Assad carried out the attacks. She said it was “irrelevant” what anyone believed, but that she wanted “evidence and facts.”
- She said in an April 7, 2017, interview on CNN:
- The letter cites as an example of her casting doubt on whether Assad carried out the attacks was a statement on her website that did not absolve Assad, but rather, said, “There is evidence that both the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad as well as the armed opposition groups aligned against him have used chemical weapons (CW) during the Syrian war.”

Matt Gaetz Ethics Report Was Released
- The congressional ethics investigators said Matt Gaetz violated state laws. He allegedly paid numerous women — including a 17-year-old girl — for sex. He also allegedly purchased and used illegal drugs, including from his Capitol Hill office, according to a final draft of a comprehensive investigative report obtained by CBS News.
- “From 2017 to 2020, Representative Gaetz made tens of thousands of dollars in payments to women that the Committee determined were likely in connection with sexual activity and/or drug use,” noted the report, which lists payments totaling more than $90,000 to 12 different women.
- The committee said it also received testimony that at a 2017 party, Gaetz twice had sex with “Victim A,” who was 17 years old at the time and had just completed her junior year in high school.
- Gaetz has left Congress, and the release is meant to keep him out of government in perpetuity.
