Governor Murphy’s Green New Deal Exacerbates NJ Energy Crisis

  • New Jerseyans are feeling the pain of higher electricity bills. They should blame Governor Phil Murphy and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) for inviting this energy crisis.
  • The BPU was slated to approve a 20% rate hike in June, but delayed the rate hike until September 30. On August 14, the BPU announced a $100 Residential Universal Bill Credit to help lower bills in September and October. This is a way to use taxes to disguise the cost of utility bills, but New Jerseyans are still shouldering these costs.
  • When announcing this relief measure, Governor Murphy didn’t accept responsibility for higher prices. Instead, he blamed PJM Interconnection, a grid operator servicing New Jersey and 12 other states, for creating a “cost crisis.” Earlier this summer, he urged residents to set their air conditioners to 76-78 degrees Fahrenheit and delay appliance usage until 8 p.m. But Garden Staters aren’t buying what Murphy is selling.
  • Since Governor Murphy entered office in 2017, six power plants—including five coal plants and Oyster Creek nuclear reactor—were shut down. This represents a loss of 2,500 megawatts (MW) of net capacity. As a result, the state consumes more energy than it produces. It imported 20% of its electricity from out-of-state power generators—namely, Pennsylvania. Imported electricity is more expensive due to higher fuel and transmission costs. One analysis found NJ’s green “transition” “has outpaced its replacement infrastructure, raising concerns about grid stability, cost volatility, and energy independence.” Yet, there is no transition occurring. Natural gas and nuclear have cumulatively supplied over 90% of the state’s net electricity generation since 2011. Renewables, including solar, barely supply 8%.
  • But don’t take my word for it. States with clean energy mandates—including renewable standard portfolios (RPS) that mandate electric utilities set renewable energy targets—generally have higher electricity costs compared to states without them. As of this writing, New Jersey electricity rates are the 12th most expensive in the nation, averaging 20.49¢ per kilowatt-hour (kWh). That’s 17.3% higher than the national average (17.47¢ per kWh). For context, the average American household uses about 10,800 kWh annually.

What if Trump Runs the Federal Reserve?

  • Federal law lets a President remove Fed Governors “for cause,” but it doesn’t clearly define the term. Some statutes that provide removal protections for heads of other agencies define “for cause” as wrongdoing in office. The Federal Trade Commission Act mentions “inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office.”
  • Ms. Cook may argue that the President can’t remove her for wrongdoing she committed before becoming a Governor, and in any case hasn’t been proven. If the President gets away with firing her, then the “for cause” protections could become toothless.
  • The Justice Department may argue that “for cause” restrictions on the President’s removal power of Governors violate the separation of powers because such officials exercise executive power. This is the argument that the Administration has used to remove members of other so-called independent agencies.

It also allows them to ignore the lack of security at schools and distract from the growing epidemic of leftwing anti-Trump violence. It’s interesting to me that the politicians who constantly call to restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens in response to every mass shooting, throw a temper tantrum at the mere suggestion that we fortify our schools with armed security. But how many kids have to die in school shootings before we finally say enough is enough and protect them with the security that they deserve?

We also now know that the monster responsible for this wasn’t just a random thug committing a crime, he was a trans leftwing activist, who was clearly driven by his hatred for President Trump. Of course, that probably means that the media is going to do everything in their power to disappear this story, but we should not allow them to get away with that.

Now this might not be politically correct to say, but it’s hard not to notice that there is a disproportionate amount of self identified trans people who in the past several years have committed mass shootings. At a certain point, we need to have a conversation as a country about why that is. Is it possible that brainwashing children into believing that they can change their gender and pumping them full of experimental hormones can cause longterm mental issues?

When kids are getting murdered in cold blood, we need to throw political correctness and hurt feelings out the window. Finally, after two assassination attempts from deranged leftists, you would think Democrats would have tamped down their violent rhetoric against the President and other conservatives, but we’ve seen the opposite happen since President Trump was re-elected. So what is the solution?

1. We need to get tough on criminals and finally fortify our schools with the type of security necessary to stop mentally ill mass shooters.

2. We need to stop the political correctness and have an honest conversation about the potential longterm effects of pushing transgenderism on our kids.

3. The leadership of the Democrat Party needs to do some serious soul searching and finally tamp down their violent rhetoric against our President once and for all. Unfortunately, Democrats REALLY don’t want to have a conversation about any of these things, so they immediately pivot to blaming a freedom that millions of Americans enjoy without ever breaking the law. It’s absolutely disgraceful.

So no, Chuck – Guns aren’t the cause of this tragedy – This was caused by politicians refusing to secure our schools, mental illness destroying a soul, and the never-ending stream of violent rhetoric coming from your political party.

Mystery Hacker Used AI To Automate ‘Unprecedented’ Cybercrime Rampage

  • A hacker allegedly exploited Anthropic, the fast-growing AI startup behind the popular Claude chatbot, to orchestrate what authorities describe as an “unprecedented” cybercrime campaign targeting nearly 20 companies, according to a report released this week
  • The report, published by Anthropic and obtained by NBC News, details how the hacker manipulated Claude to pinpoint companies vulnerable to cyberattacks. Claude then generated malicious code to pilfer sensitive data and cataloged information that could be used for extortion, even drafting the threatening communications sent to the targeted firms.

NBC News reports:

The stolen data included Social Security numbers, bank details and patients’ sensitive medical information. The hacker also took files related to sensitive defense information regulated by the U.S. State Department, known as International Traffic in Arms Regulations.

It’s not clear how many of the companies paid or how much money the hacker made, but the extortion demands ranged from around $75,000 to more than $500,000, the report said.
