Obama sidelined Biden. Biden has no idea what happened, he has emerged from being sequestered and he is confused. The 25th is still in play. Poll: Most Michigan Voters Oppose Biden-Harris Electric Car Mandate
  • The majority of likely voters in the swing state of Michigan oppose President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s Electric Vehicle (EV) mandate, which seeks to phase out gas-powered cars regardless of the impact on the jobs and wages of the nation’s auto workers.
  • The Detroit Free Press poll, which surveyed 600 likely voters in Michigan, finds that 55 percent of Michiganders oppose Biden and Harris’s EV mandate, which will require automakers to produce and sell more EVs to rid the market of gas-powered cars.

  •  As the Secret Service fields a barrage of investigations on the Trump shooting, it is also set to face the release of a report on another bruising episode: its response to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
  • Investigators in the Inspector General’s Office for the Department of Homeland Security — the Secret Service’s parent agency — have finished a long-awaited report on the violence that day and shared it with the Secret Service to review, a standard practice. The report, which could cast light on a series of embarrassing security lapses for the agency, could be released as soon as this week, according to a congressional aide briefed on the matter and granted anonymity to discuss private conversations. Sensitive reports sometimes take longer than anticipated to become public.

Trump gunman had Michigan school shooter’s photo, foreign encrypted apps, FBI tells Congress

  • That phone included an arrest photo and other information related to Ethan Crumbley, who was convicted in the deadly 2021 shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan, as well as information about Crumbley’s parents, the sources said, speaking only on condition of anonymity.
  • The phone also included stock images of firearms and guns, articles regarding U.S. government figures as well as a screenshot of online live coverage of July 13 rally saved at 6:01pm, about 10 minutes before Crooks began shooting from a rooftop near the Butler, Pa., venue where Trump was speaking.
  • One of the most tantalizing pieces of evidence from the phone, according to the sources, was three foreign encrypted platforms used by Crooks that were apparently based in Germany, New Zealand, and Belgium. The encryption on the apps “poses a significant challenge,” according to one source.
  • The FBI’s closed-door briefings also provided a far more detailed timeline about the events leading up to the shooting than Cheatle offered the House Oversight Committee, including that the Secret Service first conducted a site survey at the Butler event venue on July 8 that included the AGR industrial building that Crooks eventually used as a shooter’s nest, the sources said,

Feds discover transcripts of Biden chats with biographer

  • The Justice Department told a federal judge  that it has located transcripts it previously denied having of President Joe Biden’s talks with a biographer that played a role in the recently completed criminal investigation into Biden’s handling of classified material before he became president.
  • At a hearing last month, DOJ lawyers handling one Freedom of Information case told U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich that it would be highly time-consuming to process other audio files containing Biden’s interviews with writer Mark Zwonitzer. The attorneys said those recordings stretched to 70 hours and reviewing audio for potential classified material is far more difficult than written material.
  • “We don’t have some transcript that’s been created by the special counsel that we can attest to its accuracy,” Justice Department lawyer Cameron Silverberg told Friedrich at the June 18 hearing on a suit brought by the conservative Heritage Foundation.
  • However, Silverberg said in a court filing Monday night that the department “in the past few days” confirmed that Hur’s office had transcripts made of a portion of Biden’s discussions with Zwonitzer, which occurred as Biden worked with him on memoirs published in 2007 and 2017. Prosecutors determined that some of those conversations contained classified information, although they were barred by Justice Department policy from pursuing charges against a sitting president and said they would not have done so in any event because of the imprecision of Biden’s memory and other factors.
  • “In the past few days…the Department located six electronic files, consisting of a total of 117 pages, that appeared to be verbatim transcripts of a small subset of the Biden-Zwonitzer audio recordings created for the SCO by a court-reporting service,” Silverberg wrote in the new filing.
