It’s been disappointing, like with so many others, to see truth and objectivity go out the window when it comes to Israel. I’m not on either side because neither are on my side. Israel is not America. They are not some extension of American democracy nor some great ally. All Israel sees in America is power they can leverage for their own means, which is often the case when a great power aligns itself with smaller nations. Israel could have had peace long ago but they’ve done everything they can to ensure that will never happen. Hamas would not exist if not for Israel’s help in the creation of a radical Islamist counterweight to the leftist secular PLO. Why did they do this? Because they don’t want the two state solution. You can also see that they don’t by the constant encroachment of Palestinian land through the settlements. America First doesn’t mean that goes out the window for Israel’s goals, and that we’ll be all in for a regional war that Israel expects to drag us into. Israel wouldn’t even think of doing what they are doing if they didn’t think they have America in their back pocket. With the way Israel has treated the Palestinians for decades it’s hard to tell who are the good guys. And I’m supposed to be all in for a war with an enemy of Israel’s own creation? No, I’m sick of these problem, reaction, solutions given to us as a fait accompli. You should know better.
