    Hi Dave,

    Didn’t the 13 colonies belong to England though? If so wouldn’t that make the colonists English citizens? I realize they were being taxed excessively but wasn’t that a separate issue? I’m pretty sure the colonists wanted to break from England for very different reasons than what’s in the public school American history books, and very blatant revisionist history.
