Federal Reserve Unveils Stablecoin Rules on Reserves and Capital

  • The central bank opened two proposals for comment under the GENIUS Act, requiring issuers it supervises to back tokens fully with safe assets and creating an application process for banks seeking to issue stablecoins.

  • The first would require Board-supervised payment stablecoin issuers to hold reserves entirely in permissible assets such as short-term Treasury bills and other high-quality, liquid holdings.   • The second proposal would create a tailored application process for Board-supervised banks seeking to issue payment stablecoins, requiring them to submit a business plan and financial information, and would establish procedures for appeals, hearings and final decisions.
  • The move adds the Fed’s piece to a multi-agency rollout of the GENIUS Act, which set the first federal framework for dollar-pegged tokens.

Michigan. As officers attempted the stop to confirm the identity of the driver, the driver of the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. In the interest of public safety, ICE officers immediately discontinued the enforcement action. A short time later, officers saw smoke nearly half a mile from the attempted stop and discovered the vehicle had crashed into a tree and caught fire. Officers immediately attempted to render aid and extinguish the fire until the Grand Rapids Police Department and Fire Department arrived. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by local officials. Officials also estimated that the suspect’s vehicle was traveling well over 100 miles per hour when the crash occurred.   Upon further investigation the driver of the vehicle was Mario David Coronado-Juarez and not the vehicle’s registered owner. Coronado-Juarez was an illegal alien from Guatemala who was previously removed by Border Patrol from the United States in 2021. He re-entered the country, a felony, at an unknown date and location.   Resisting officers and evading arrest is dangerous for our officers, illegal aliens, and the public.

Trump Asks Supreme Court to Restart Deportations to ‘Safe Third Countries’

  • The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to let it resume deporting illegal aliens to “Safe Third Countries” if migrants cannot be sent to their home countries.
  • In an emergency filing Thursday afternoon, Solicitor General D. John Sauer asked the justices to put a hold on a February ruling by U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy, a Biden appointee, that threw out the Department of Homeland Security’s third-country removal policy. The 42-page application is the third time the administration has brought this fight to the high court.
  • The so-called “Safe Third Countries” are nations that were never named on a migrant’s removal order. The administration relies on them because many home governments simply refuse to take their own citizens back.

  • Jacob Coxon, a 27-year-old researcher who had been at Anthropic for roughly four months, resigned and posted his warning on September 8. Within days, senators were citing him in calls for new federal oversight. Now Pirate Wires reports that a professional communications firm with deep ties to the AI-safety movement was working with Coxon as his message went viral, even as Coxon publicly denied any outside coordination.
  • Pirate Wires obtained an email showing DEY. Ideas + Influence trying to book Coxon for an interview on September 9. Two people with direct knowledge of the arrangement told the outlet the firm was actively working with Coxon.
  • DEY. represents Eliezer Yudkowsky, author of “If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies,” and works with the Machine Intelligence Research Institute, founded by Yudkowsky and headed by Soares. Pirate Wires reports DEY. also advises Stanford’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence and Stanford Medicine.   • Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed in an interview this week that his government had prepared for the possibility of the US launching an invasion of Canada amid ongoing trade tensions.
  • (1) Carney developed contingency plans to use military combat operations against the United States.  Yes, it is transparently obvious this is a political statement.  His mentioning of this is meant to create the traditional leftist victimhood position used in all psychological operations.  Carney follows this outlandish statement by saying these military plans are no longer needed because he now feels he has “a good relationship” with President Trump.

California’s Shadow Welfare System for Illegal Immigrants 

  • California runs the nation’s largest welfare system, devoting more than $180 billion annually to food, health care, and other programs for the poor and downtrodden. To sustain the arrangement, the state imposes the nation’s highest tax rates.
  • In theory, these programs are supposed to help struggling Californians. In reality, many serve large numbers of illegal immigrants. Today, California oversees a shadow welfare system that allows noncitizens to receive health care, rental assistance, college grants, tax credits, low-cost car insurance, and even smartphones on the taxpayers’ dime.
  • “If [you are] a citizen, you cannot get CAPI,” he said. “I don’t care about legal or not. Not being [a] citizen [is the key].”
  • In Los Angeles, we heard more of the same. We asked another welfare officer about the benefits available to illegal immigrants and their children. While some state programs are closed to illegals, we learned, they are open to those aliens’ U.S.-born children.
  • How is all this possible?
  • Federal law generally prohibits states from using federal dollars to serve illegal aliens. To dodge those restrictions, California created parallel state- and locally funded programs that allowed the state to extend benefits to illegal immigrants. Perhaps as a result, more than one in four California residents today is foreign-born.
  • Medicaid is a good example. Federal law prohibits states from using federal dollars to provide wraparound coverage to illegal immigrants. So, California used a state-funding “bucket” within its Medi-Cal program to extend “full-scope” coverage to illegal aliens. The expansions enrolled some 1.7 million people, costing the state an estimated $10 billion annually—more than twice what the state legislative analyst originally projected.
  • California also uses a distinct legal category that enables certain migrants to qualify for state programs. The state deems certain aliens to be “permanently residing under color of law”—living in California with the “knowledge and permission” of immigration enforcement—and allows them to use this designation to enroll in Medi-Cal, CAPI, and other government programs. In practice, because aged or disabled individuals are typically not deported, this means elderly foreign retirees can arrive in California and receive extensive benefits.

President Trump’s Plan

This sounds like a stretch but at least confirms significant movement in the investigation.

Supreme Court lets Trump administration use revamped federal voter eligibility database for now

  • The emergency order allows states, for now, to use the Department of Homeland Security program, called Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements, or SAVE, in their efforts to verify the eligibility of voters on their rolls. But because existing law blocks most states from systematically purging voters from their rolls within 90 days of an election, the immediate impact on the upcoming midterms is likely limited.
  • States’ use of the SAVE program is voluntary.

The court’s order puts on hold a federal judge’s June ruling that had deemed the Republican administration’s recently revamped version of SAVE illegal.

Trump Admin Releases a Comprehensive Cybersecurity Plan on Safeguarding the Midterms 

  • In 2017, at the start of the first Trump administration, election infrastructure and all it entails was placed into the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) as a subsector within the Government Services and Facilities Sector. For those who accuse President Donald Trump of only being interested in election integrity after 2020, the formation of this subsector debunks that claim.
  • In July of 2026, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin was mantled with the role, and tasked CISA with developing an Election Infrastructure Security Plan to aid election partners to combat the threats of cyber and physical attacks to election infrastructure.

The Federalist exclusively obtained this 13-page document, detailing some of its tenets and guidelines.

The Trump administration released a “comprehensive” plan on Thursday that U.S. election officials can use to safeguard the integrity of the voting process during the upcoming midterms, The Federalist has learned.

“Election security is national security,” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement. “This plan, which will be implemented in full, is crucial to the security, freeness, and fairness of choosing the leaders of our country. Making America safe again isn’t just done at the border, in our streets, and on the coast — it’s also done in protecting the integrity of American elections.”

 

  • The 13-page document begins by providing a comprehensive overview of existing election infrastructure (voting and processing facilities, voting hardware, etc.) and the core technological components (voter registration systems, tabulation systems, etc.) that define a typical election process. It also includes an analysis of potential cyber and physical threats to this infrastructure that officials may encounter during the 2026 contest, such as attempted cyber hacks of state voter registration databases and bomb threats directed at election offices.The report provides guidance on how best to confront these prospective issues. For instance, to mitigate potential cyber vulnerabilities, the plan advises election officials to consider using paper ballots “that can be easily reviewed to ensure transparency, auditability, and resilience against software failures or manipulation,” and to “[c]onduct post-election manual audits of paper ballots to verify that voting systems function properly and to identify errors before certifying the final results.”
  • Here is what is critical: this is guidance, not a mandate. This guidance was also requested and welcomed by state and local election partners.

  • CISA has recommitted to its statutory mission and remains resolute in strengthening the security of election infrastructure, as with all critical infrastructure sectors. DHS has consistently supported CISA’s delivery of cybersecurity and physical security services to election officials.
