  • Logistics companies are scrambling to meet California’s upcoming Jan. 1, 2024 mandate that all new trucks purchased for servicing ports, rail yards, and distribution centers in the state be zero-emission vehicles, with experts questioning limited access to charging stations and the viability of switching from diesel to electric fleets.
  • Availability of electric semi-trucks is a concern, as is the price of the vehicles, the number of miles they can go on a charge, and the cost of maintenance and replacement parts, all of which currently remain unknown variables, according to industry experts.
  • “We need to know all of these things in order to plan,” Nelson Sibrian—owner of Sibrian Trucking based in Wilmington, California—told The Epoch Times. “If we don’t know the actual range, it makes it impossible to schedule, and they can’t give me a straight answer on how long [trucks] will take to charge.”
  • “Nobody has real numbers when we ask for details about maintenance and replacement costs,” Sibrian said. “With diesel, we know our cost per day to maintain the vehicle.”

Americans were marginally opposed (52%) if a CBDC could cause some people to stop using private banks, resulting in some banks going out of business.

Target stock continues its free fall, down $15 billion after boycotts over ‘Pride month’ display featuring ‘tuck-friendly’ swimsuits and more

  • Target Stock has continued to plummet since May when the brand started selling “tuck-friendly” swimsuits and kids’ clothes designed by a gay Satanist for a Pride month collection. On Friday, it hit its lowest point since August 2020.

Over 17% of Annual US Firearm Homicides Reported in Strict Gun-Control State, California: CDC Data

  • Democrat state California, known for having some of the most strict gun-control laws in the US, accounted for over 17 percent of annual firearm-related murders across the nation, Breitbart reported citing recent data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • Everytown for Gun Safety ranks California as the no.1 in the US when it comes to gun control.
  • According to CDC figures, despite the Golden State’s strict gun control regulations, which include universal background checks, waiting periods, and bans on many types of firearms, it has been unable to curb the surge in gun-related deaths.

Breitbart reported:

PEW Research reported that CDC figures show 20,958 people were murdered with firearms in 2021.

The CDC’s state-by-state map shows that 3,576 of those murders occurred in California alone.

California gun controls include universal background checks, an “assault weapons” ban, a 10-day waiting period, a red flag law, firearm registration requirements, a ban on campus carry for self-defense, a ban on K-12 teachers being armed for classroom defense, a limit on the number of guns a law-abiding citizen can purchase each month, and a background check requirement for ammunition purchases, among many other controls. 

When California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) contrasts gun violence in his state with that of other states–especially red states–he does not mention California firearm homicides. Rather, he talks about homicide rates and claims a lower rate in California than in other states.

By shifting the focus to rates, Newsom does not mention that Mississippi only had 962 firearm homicides compared to 3,576 such homicides in California.

William Nuland was communicating with his half-sister as early as the beginnings of the Russia hoax 2016, Gateway Pundit can reveal.
  • “In March 2022, an FBI Special Agent sent Twitter a list of accounts on behalf of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ukraine’s main intelligence agency,”  Aaron Maté reported on his Substack. The accounts “are suspected by the SBU in spreading fear and disinformation”, FBI FBI Special Agent Aleksandr Kobzanets, Assistant Legal Attaché at the US Embassy in Kiev, wrote to former Twitter “Trust and Saftey” head Yoel Roth on March 27, 2022.
  • Kobzanets attached an SBU list of 163 twitter accounts “used to disseminate disinformation and fake news to inaccurately reflect events in Ukraine, justify war crimes of the Russian authorities on the territory of the Ukrainian state in violation of international law.” The list included mainstream Russian media outlets such as Russia Today, TASS, Izevestia and Komsomolskaya Pravda, but also the account of Canadian journalist Aaron Maté of The Grayzone.
  • Journalists “who cover the conflict with a pro-Russian stance are unlikely to be found in violation of our rules absent other context that might establish some kind of covert/deceptive association between them and a government,” Roth wrote. “Any additional information or context in those areas is of course welcome and appreciated.”

The US Is Preparing Evacuation Plans for American Citizens in Taiwan (Exclusive)

  • The planning has been underway for at least six months and “it’s heated up over the past two months or so,” said a senior U.S. intelligence official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the planning.

  • The actor and comedian behind the popular Mr. Bean character has called on drivers to hold off buying an electric vehicle (EV), saying the environmental benefits do not stack up.
 
  • Rowan Atkinson, a long-time motor enthusiast with a degree and master’s in electrical engineering, said current EV technology was more harmful to the environment than it was worth.
  • “Increasingly, I’m feeling that our honeymoon with electric cars is coming to an end, and that’s no bad thing: we’re realising that a wider range of options need to be explored if we’re going to properly address the very serious environmental problems that our use of the motor car has created,” Atkinson wrote in The Guardian newspaper.
  • He pointed to figures released by automotive giant Volvo revealing that greenhouse gas emissions during the EV production process were 70 percent higher than building a petrol car.

  • The authoritarian objective is a part of WEF’s broader vision for a ‘sustainable and low-carbon future,’ as outlined in its Urban Mobility Scorecard Tool: Benchmarking the Transition to Sustainable Urban Mobility in collaboration with Visa in May 2023. 
  • According to WEF’s recently published white paper, by 2050, people are likely to travel twice as much within cities as they do now. If people don’t change anything, this would mean that there would be 2.1 billion cars, buses, and other vehicles on the road, emitting 4.6 billion tons of carbon dioxide.
  •  The reduction from 2.1 billion vehicles to 0.5 billion vehicles is a decrease of 1.6 billion vehicles. So, the reduction of vehicles from 2.1 billion to 0.5 billion represents a decrease of about 76.19%.
 

Moreover, WEF stated that switching to electric vehicles isn’t enough to achieve these benefits. People need to combine it with more use of shared transport and changes to how our cities are designed. This means making cities more compact and easier to get around by walking or biking, and prioritizing public and shared transport.

  • At their May 3rd meeting, the Federal Reserve Committee appears to have established two key things (in their estimation).
  • First, the Fed continues to promote the delusion that the banking system is “sound and resilient.”
  • Second, they remain focused on bringing inflation back down to Chairman Powell’s pet target rate of 2%.
  • At that meeting, the FOMC members also decided to raise the federal funding rate by 25 basis points (equal to .25%).  
  • Taken at face value, almost anyone who doesn’t constantly research economic conditions might think everything is heading back to normal.
  • But everything isn’t heading back to normal, far from it.
  • The rate hike panicked several Democrat lawmakers, who desperately pleaded for the Fed to reverse course:

A group led by several prominent Democrat lawmakers is calling on the Federal Reserve to halt rate hikes to avoid risking too much damage to the economy.

The 10 senators and representatives, led by Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Reps. Pramila Jayapal of Washington and Brendan Boyle of Pennsylvania, raised their concerns about the Fed’s monetary policy strategy and its “potential to throw millions of Americans out of work,” in a letter Monday to Fed Chair Jerome Powell.

Here’s the reason Chairman Powell’s Fed decided to stay the course, raising rates to fight inflation:

Inflation has proven to be more persistent than officials anticipated, borne out through the Atlanta Fed’s “sticky price” CPI that compares prices for goods and services that don’t change a lot over time against those that do.

Sticky prices increased 6.6% annually in March and have been generally on the rise, while “flexible price CPI” climbed just 1.6% and has declined precipitously since peaking at 19.7% in March 2022. Sticky prices include housing.

REVEALED: Merrick Garland and Jack Smith Used Linguistic Tricks to Indict President Trump on Junk Documents Charges 

 

  • The indictment accuses President Trump of withholding documents containing “classified markings,” a very specifically deployed obtuse wording intended to create the implication of something nefarious where nothing nefarious exists.  It is entirely possible for a person, any person, especially a person who follows the news, to possess documents containing “classified markings.”

There is a big difference between a classified document and a document containing classified markings.  As an example, anyone who has looked at the Carter Page FISA application, made public in July 2018, has reviewed a document containing “classified markings.”  When a document is declassified, they do not remove the markings.

You might think this is a one-off use of the “documents with classification markings” lingo, but it’s not.  This language is the underpinning of the entire DOJ/FBI framework that predicated the raid on Mar-a-Lago.   Specifically, neither NARA nor the DOJ-NSD requested President Trump or his team to return Classified Documents.  The DOJ demanded the return of any documents that contained “classified markings.”

BREAKING: House Judiciary Committee Releases New Info on Mar-a-Lago Raid in Letter to AG Garland
  • House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) sent a four-page letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland Friday expressing grave concerns with the indictment of Donald Trump and again requesting documents and information related to the raid at Mar-a-Lago that the DOJ has refused to provide to the committee.
  • The letter begins by reminding Garland that Trump is “Biden’s chief rival in the upcoming presidential election” and a reference to the double standard created by the failure to prosecute Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information 

The Biden Department of Justice is reportedly about to indict a former president and President Biden’s chief rival in the upcoming presidential election. According to reports, the Department will indict President Donald Trump, despite declining to indict former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her mishandling of classified information and failing to indict President Biden for his mishandling of classified information. The indictment creates, at the minimum, a serious appearance of a double standard and a miscarriage of justice—an impression that is only strengthened by allegations that a Biden Justice Department lawyer “inappropriately sought to pressure” a Trump-affiliated lawyer with the prospect of a judgeship.

Jordan then informs Garland about points made in a transcribed interview of Steven D’Antuono, former Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, held on June 7. D’Antuono, who has more than 20 years’ law enforcement experience, “expressed strong concerns with the Department’s pursuit of the raid and noted several unusual features in the Department’s handling of the case,” according to Jordan.

Those “unusual features” are:

  1. The Miami Field Office did not conduct the search
  2. The Department did not assign a U.S. Attorney’s Office to the matter
  3. The FBI did not first seek consent to effectuate the search
  4. The FBI refused to wait for President Trump’s attorney to be present before executing the search

The committee requested, again, the following from the Department of Justice, and gave a deadline of June 16:

  1. All documents and communications referring or relating to meetings between FBI and Justice Department officials prior to the execution of the search warrant on President Trump’s private residence;
  2. All documents and communications referring or relating to the execution of a search warrant on President Trump’s private residence, including those sent or received by the following FBI and Justice Department Officials:
    a. Paul Abbate,
    b. Matthew Olsen,
    c. Jay Bratt,
    d. George Toscas,
    e. Steven D’Antuono; and
  3. All documents and communications between or among Washington Field Office agents and employees and the U.S. Secret Service about a potential search of President Trump’s residence

Jordan ended the letter by reminding Garland of the Committee’s jurisdiction over the Department of Justice related to oversight.

Monroe Doctrine (1823)

 The Monroe Doctrine was articulated in President James Monroe’s seventh annual message to Congress on December 2, 1823. The European powers, according to Monroe, were obligated to respect the Western Hemisphere as the United States’ sphere of interest.

President James Monroe’s 1823 annual message to Congress contained the Monroe Doctrine, which warned European powers not to interfere in the affairs of the Western Hemisphere.

 

The Monroe Doctrine is the best known U.S. policy toward the Western Hemisphere. Buried in a routine annual message delivered to Congress by President James Monroe in December 1823, the doctrine warns European nations that the United States would not tolerate further colonization or puppet monarchs. The doctrine was conceived to meet major concerns of the moment, but it soon became a watchword of U.S. policy in the Western Hemisphere.

The Monroe Doctrine was invoked in 1865 when the U.S. government exerted diplomatic and military pressure in support of the Mexican President Benito Juárez. This support enabled Juárez to lead a successful revolt against the Emperor Maximilian, who had been placed on the throne by the French government.

Almost 40 years later, in 1904, European creditors of a number of Latin American countries threatened armed intervention to collect debts. President Theodore Roosevelt promptly proclaimed the right of the United States to exercise an “international police power” to curb such “chronic wrongdoing,” in his so-called Roosevelt Corollary (or extension) to the Monroe Doctrine.

While the Monroe Doctrine’s message was designed to keep European powers out of the Western Hemisphere, Roosevelt would strengthen its meaning to justify sending the United States into other countries of the Western Hemisphere. As a result, U.S. Marines were sent into Santo Domingo in 1904, Nicaragua in 1911, and Haiti in 1915, ostensibly to keep the Europeans out. Other Latin American nations viewed these interventions with misgiving, and relations between the “great Colossus of the North” and its southern neighbors remained strained for many years.

In 1962, the Monroe Doctrine was invoked symbolically when the Soviet Union began to build missile-launching sites in Cuba. With the support of the Organization of American States, President John F. Kennedy threw a naval and air quarantine around the island. After several tense days, the Soviet Union agreed to withdraw the missiles and dismantle the sites.

Aldi is turning off lights in its stores to try to save customers money

  • Aldi will be turning off lights across all of its store locations this month.
  • The change is intended to keep prices low and reduce the chain’s carbon footprint.
  • German discount supermarket Aldi will be reducing the number of lights it has turned on across all of its stores, including its more than 2,300 stores in the US, this month in an effort to maintain affordable pricing by cutting energy bills and lower the company’s carbon footprint, The Telegraph reported.

Biden Regime Set to Ban OVER HALF of all Gas Furnaces and Change How Millions Heat Their Homes 

  • The Regime will soon finalize new regulations severely restricting what furnaces you can buy for your home in the future and make new purchases more expensive. The rules were originally proposed back in June 2022 by the Department of Energy (DOE).

Under the proposed regulations, DOE would require furnaces to achieve an annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) of 95% by 2029, meaning manufacturers would only be allowed to sell furnaces that convert at least 95% of fuel into heat within six years. The current market standard AFUE for a residential furnace is 80%.

  • The network explains this would take non-condensing gas furnaces off the market due to AFUE requirements. Consumers who replace their non-condensing furnaces with a condensing one would face potentially cost-prohibitive installation costs.
  • Richard Meyer, the vice president of energy markets, analysis and standards at the American Gas Association (AGA), called the rule “concerning.”  

They’re going to have to, in many cases, install new equipment to exhaust gas out of their home. These higher efficiency units, or so-called condensing units — a lot of consumers have them in their home, but a lot of consumers don’t. So, this rule would require additional retrofits for a lot of consumers. And those retrofits can be extremely cost prohibitive.

 

Because millions of Americans will not be able to afford the new equipment along with the new furnace, some will end up freezing to death.

US Mortgage Applications for Purchases Drop for a Fourth Week

  •  US mortgage applications for home purchases fell for a fourth week as 30-year fixed rates held close to an almost seven-month high.
  • The Mortgage Bankers Association index of applications for home purchases dropped 1.7% in the week ended June 2 to 151.7, the second-lowest level since 1995. The contract rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage decreased 10 basis points to 6.81%, according to the data out Wednesday.

  • Bankruptcy filings will whittle down the corporate debt overhang. Many companies will emerge from bankruptcy with less debt, and they’ll be nimbler and more able to thrive.   • California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is proposing an amendment to the Constitution to implement four gun control measures that he says have wide support across the country.
  • Newsom’s office said in a release on Thursday that he is calling for enshrining four gun safety regulations into the Constitution — raising the minimum age to purchase firearms from 18 to 21, implementing universal background checks, instituting a “reasonable” waiting period for gun purchases and preventing civilians from buying “assault weapons.”
  • He said these proposals will respect the country’s gun-owning tradition protected by the Second Amendment but create common-sense safety measures.
  • “Our ability to make a more perfect union is literally written into the Constitution,” Newsom said. “So today, I’m proposing the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution to do just that. The 28th Amendment will enshrine in the Constitution common sense gun safety measures that Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and gun owners overwhelmingly support – while leaving the 2nd Amendment unchanged and respecting America’s gun-owning tradition.”
  • The Supreme Court significantly expanded gun rights last year with its ruling that struck down a New York gun law that made obtaining a permit to carry a handgun outside the home more difficult. The majority found that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to self-defense outside the home.
  • The ruling gave other courts and judges new guidance and increased skepticism toward the constitutionality of gun regulations.

Report: Feds Pressure Mark Meadows in Trump Special Counsel Probe, Give Limited Immunity to Provide Testimony in Exchange for “Lesser” Federal Charges (UPDATE: Attorney Denies Guilty Plea)

Here is how the media are putting it:

  • The Independent has learned that prosecutors are ready to ask grand jurors to approve an indictment against Mr Trump for violating a portion of the US criminal code known as Section 793, which prohibits “gathering, transmitting or losing” any “information respecting the national defence”.
  • The use of Section 793, which does not make reference to classified information, is understood to be a strategic decision by prosecutors that has been made to short-circuit Mr Trump’s ability to claim that he used his authority as president to declassify documents he removed from the White House and kept at his Palm Beach, Florida property long after his term expired on 20 January 2021.
  • That section of US criminal law is written in a way that could encompass Mr Trump’s conduct even if he was authorised to possess the information as president because it states that anyone who “lawfully having possession of, access to, control over, or being entrusted with any document …relating to the national defence,” and “willfully communicates, delivers, transmits or causes to be communicated, delivered, or transmitted or attempts to communicate, deliver, transmit or cause to be communicated, delivered or transmitted the same to any person not entitled to receive it, or willfully retains the same and fails to deliver it on demand to the officer or employee of the United States entitled to receive it” can be punished by as many as 10 years in prison.   • Main Justice is now stretching Code 793 to claim any document the government designates as a “national security document” is a national defense document.
  •    Remember, they wouldn’t even let a court appointed “special master” review the documents.
  • Stop and think about that for a moment.  NO ONE knows what the documents are, and the DOJ has stated they will never say what the documents are.  The DOJ is filing a case about the mishandling of documents, in whatever legal construct they put forth, while simultaneously saying they are under no obligation to tell anyone what the documents are.
  • DOJ: Trump violated USC 793 in his discussion and/or handling of documents.

Supreme Court Overrules Local Governments For Seizing Homes

  • The U.S. Supreme Court reversed court rulings in which local governments seized two homes over unpaid tax debts and kept sale proceeds that far exceeded the tax owed. Critics call the practice “home equity theft.”
  • The case came after Pacific Legal Foundation (PLF), which represented the homeowners in both cases, released a report late last year saying that 12 states and the District of Columbia allow local governments and private investors to seize dramatically more than what is owed from homeowners who fall behind on property tax payments. PLF is a national nonprofit public interest law firm that takes on governmental overreach.
  • The U.S. Supreme Court released unsigned orders (pdf) on June 5 summarily reversing two rulings of the Supreme Court of Nebraska.

US National Debt Spikes by $359 billion on 1st Day after Debt Ceiling Suspended. TGA Begins to Get Refilled, Draining Liquidity from Market

  • The Fed’s QT is happening for the first time simultaneously with the refilling of the TGA. Both draw liquidity from markets. 
  •  the U.S. national debt spiked by $359 billion in one single day, the first working day after the debt ceiling was suspended, to $31.83 trillion, as of yesterday evening, reported this evening by the Treasury Department.
  • And that was just the beginning, there will be more hair-raising single-day spikes of the debt over the next few days:

  • The TGA balance jumped by $48 billion on Monday, reported today, to $71 billion. That increase was so small that it is hard to discern in the chart. But it was the first step in bringing it back to a normal-ish level. Massive bond issuance will be required in the near future, along with tax receipts, to:

  • As you can see in the TGA, the gigantic bond issuance in the spring and summer of 2020 to pay for the stimulus packages and other stuff wasn’t all spent in 2020. The year ended with $1.6 trillion in the TGA, after having peaked at $1.8 trillion in July. The TGA was subsequently drawn down to near-nothing during the two debt-ceiling charades in late 2021.
  • This drawdown of over $1.5 trillion over the 12 months from the end of 2020 through late 2021 moved $1.5 trillion in cash from the bank (the Fed) directly to the markets. This was a huge amount of liquidity to spill into the markets – it was a portion of the QE liquidity that the Fed created and that was absorbed by the Treasury department when it issued trillions of dollars in bonds in 2020, and that was then released in 2021. This mega-shot of liquidity explains in part the hot performance of the markets in 2021.
  • Then, from late 2021 through May 2022, as the TGA was being replenished, it absorbed nearly $1 trillion, and markets tanked.
  • Now the TGA is being refilled, and this liquidity will be drained from the markets because the primary dealers and investors will buy all those Treasury securities that are being issued, instead of other stuff, and they will sell other stuff to fund their purchases of Treasury securities, and this flow of liquidity alters the buying and selling pressures.

Hunter Biden Could Face Prison for Contempt of Court, Judge Says 

  • Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, has been ordered to appear in person before an Arkansas judge in July to explain why he shouldn’t be held in contempt of court and, if the proceedings don’t go his way, he could face time behind bars.
  • The president’s son is facing a child support case in Arkansas in which he was ordered by the presiding judge in May to hand over information on his finances.
  • Attorneys representing Lunden Alexis Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden’s child, filed a motion on May 18 to hold the president’s son in contempt of court after alleging he had failed to fully answer questions relating to his ability to pay child support.
  • Judge Holly Lodge Meyer issued an order on June 5 (pdf) saying Hunter Biden must appear on July 10 at the Independence County Courthouse in Batesville to explain “why he should not be held in contempt.”
  • In Arkansas, contempt of court is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by fines and prison time.
  • In her order, Meyer said that she would consider “punishment or sanctions” against Hunter Biden, including “incarceration for civil contempt until such time as the defendant fully answers discovery for a period of up to six months” and “incarceration for criminal contempt for a period of up to six months.”

They offer “menus” of content for users to buy or commission, including videos and imagery of self-harm and bestiality. When researchers set up a test account and viewed content shared by these networks, they were immediately recommended more accounts to follow. As the WSJ reports: “Following just a handful of these recommendations was enough to flood a test account with content that sexualizes children.”

  • The House Judiciary Committee chairman is threatening a subpoena if the White House doesn’t turn over internal communications on the 2021 letter from the National School Boards Association that compared parents to domestic terrorists.
  • In a letter to White House chief of staff Jeff Zients, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) demanded the White House turn over internal communications pertaining to the NSBA’s September 2021 letter by Mary Wall, a senior adviser to the president who was aware that the letter was going to be sent. The letter asked the Department of Justice to investigate threats against parents protesting at school board meetings under domestic terrorism statutes.
  • “The Committee has reason to believe that communications between the EOP and the relevant Executive Branch agencies exist and that these records are instrumental in fully understanding the Executive Branch’s actions in this matter,” Jordan wrote in the letter. “Based on documents and testimonial evidence received to date, it appears that Mary C. Wall, a Senior Advisor to the President, was the conduit between the White House and Executive Branch officials across multiple agencies, as well as the conduit between the White House and the NSBA.”

  • All the natural elements in the atmosphere, including carbon, oxygen, and CO2
  • The temperature on the sun (around 10,000 degrees F)

  • The orbit of the Earth
  • The natural resources inside the Earth.
  • We did not create the process whereby people breathe out CO2 (a clear, innocuous, non-pollutant gas).  Nor did we create the process where plants inhale the same CO2 — which allows the world to be fed.
  • CO2 was around 280 Parts per million in the atmosphere in 1860 when the Little Ice Age ended. Today it is over 400 PPM or up over 30%. Yet the temperature has fluctuated during that period with periods of warming and cooling. There is clearly no correlation between temperatures and CO2. It is also silly to believe that something as little as .004 part of the atmosphere controls the temperature on the Earth when there are so many other natural variables contributing to the climate.
  • If there is no correlation, there can be no causation.
  • In the U.S there were around 1 million cows in 1860, and today there are an estimated 92 million. (The World has an estimated one billion cows. If the methane from cows contributed to warming temperatures would not fluctuate around a flat line while the cow population is rising exponentially.)
  • If there is no correlation, there can be no causation.
  • Why doesn’t the media ever ask Kerry, Biden, Gore, Obama, or anyone else for the scientific data linking temperatures to crude oil consumption? The answer is they don’t care, and they probably know there is no data to support the theory.

California State Senate Passes Bill to Give Illegal Migrants $300-per-Week Unemployment Checks

In his revised budget, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) cautioned legislators to maintain “prudence.” But under SB 227, “excluded” workers who are in the country illegally would be able to receive $300 per week in benefits.

Appeals court denies Biden admin request for stay in challenge to migrant release policy

  • Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody filed challenge last month
  • The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday denied the Biden administration’s request for a stay on an order blocking the implementation of a controversial policy that saw thousands of migrants released into the U.S. without a court date in the short time it was in place.
  • A federal judge had blocked the administration’s “parole with conditions” policy in May, a day after it was implemented amid a surge in migration to historic highs just ahead of the end of Title 42 expulsions on May 11. The administration has said that nearly 9,000 migrants were released in the time the policy was in place.
  • The judge found that the policy, which saw migrants released into the U.S. without court dates and told to check in with Immigration and Customs Enforcement within 60 days, was materially identical to a separate policy that paroled migrants into the U.S. while enrolling them into alternatives to detention (ATD) programs. The judge had blocked that policy in March in response to a lawsuit from Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, who also filed the May challenge.

ATF Says a Quarter Million Guns Registered Under Pistol-Brace Ban

  • Only a fraction of the guns affected by the ATF’s new rule were registered with the agency during the four-month grace period that ended this week.
  • The ATF told The Reload on Friday it has received just over a quarter million applications to register pistol-brace-equipped firearms.   the ATF estimated that three to seven million devices exist. However, the Congressional Research Service puts the number much higher at somewhere between 10 and 40 million.
  • That puts the registration rate for pistol-brace-equipped guns at between 0.6 percent and eight percent.

  • El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele announced a “war” on corruption during his fourth annual presidential speech on Thursday evening.
  • Bukele also pledged to build a new prison for “white-collar criminals” as part of the “war.”
  • Bukele described corruption as an “endemic evil” that “like gangs, has tentacles at all levels of government.”
  • “Just as we have fought gangs head-on with the full force of the state and with all the legal tools we can, without hesitation at any time, we will also launch a frontal war against corruption,” Bukele said during the speech. “Just as we built a jail for terrorists, we will also build a jail for the corrupt.”
  • Salvadorans watched Bukele’s fourth yearly address to the nation through a mandatory broadcast on national television and radio stations. The government also published the speech on social media.
  • “Just as we deployed security forces and rounded up gang members until we put them in jail, we will also pursue white-collar criminals, wherever they come from,” Bukele continued.   • Adoor on the West side of the U.S. Capitol was left open and mostly unguarded for key moments during the Jan. 6 riot, allowing more than 300 people to enter the building unimpeded even as officers fought valiantly to keep protesters out of other sections of the official home of Congress, according to police security footage obtained by Just the News.
  • The footage — which confirms concerns first raised by Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., two years ago — shows an episode in a narrow hallway in the middle of the Capitol that began around 2:30p.m. on Jan. 6, 2021 right after the first breaches were reported elsewhere in the landmark building.
  • Capitol Police officers usher a few intruders already inside the building through the non-public Upper West Terrace hallway and toward a fire evacuation door, which is clearly marked by a sign declaring it was an emergency exit, the footage shows.

Headlines recently proclaimed that eight of Trump’s “fake” electors accepted immunity deals. Of course, in reporting the news, the corporate outlets all missed the real story — that the electors’ testimony failed to incriminate anyone, including Trump, and that the county prosecutors engaged in massive misconduct. Equally appalling, however, was the corrupt media’s continued peddling of the “fake electors” narrative.

 

The Hawaii scenario in 1960 mirrors in every material respect the facts on the ground in Georgia on Dec. 14, 2020 — the date both the Democrat and Republican presidential electors met and cast their 16 electoral votes for Joe Biden and Donald Trump respectively.

Here’s What Happened in Hawaii Six-0

Election day in 1960 fell on Nov. 8 and pitted Kennedy, a Democrat, against Republican Richard Nixon. The outcome remained unknown for some time, with a total of 93 electoral votes from eight different states undecided in the days following the election. Hawaii was one of those states.

By Dec. 9 of that year, Kennedy had accumulated enough electoral votes to win the White House, but Hawaii’s winner was still in question. While the presidency did not depend on Hawaii’s three electoral votes, Democrats there had challenged the initial returns that gave Nixon a 141-vote edge, or 0.08 percent margin of victory.

Based on the original count in favor of Nixon, the acting governor of Hawaii, Republican James Kealoha, certified the Republican electors on Nov. 28, 1960. On Dec. 13, over the objections of the state attorney general, state circuit court Judge Ronald Jamieson ordered a recount. Then, on Dec. 19, both the Nixon and Kennedy electors met, “cast their votes for President and Vice President, and certified their own meeting and votes.”

In casting their electoral ballots for Kennedy, the three Hawaiian Democrats certified they were the “duly and legally qualified and appointed” electors for president and vice president for the state of Hawaii and that they had been “certified (as such) by the Executive.” The Hawaii electors further attested: “We hereby certify that the lists of all the votes of the state of Hawaii given for President, and of all the votes given for Vice President, are contained herein.”

Two of the three Democrat electors were retired federal judges, William Heen and Delbert Metzger, and Heen personally mailed the Democrat electoral votes to Congress on Dec. 20. In fact, the envelope containing the certificates, further attested: “We hereby certify that the lists of all the votes of the state of Hawaii given for president … are contained herein.”

Ten days later, on Dec. 30, 1960, Judge Jamieson held that Kennedy had won the election. In so holding, Jamieson stressed the importance of the Democrat electors having met on Dec. 19, as prescribed by the Electoral Count Act, to cast their ballots in favor of Kennedy. That step allowed the Hawaii governor to then certify Kennedy as the winner of Hawaii’s three electoral votes and, in turn, Congress to count Hawaii’s electoral votes in favor of Kennedy.

The Peach State Repeat

The Georgia situation in 2020 mirrored the events of 60 years ago in Hawaii.

 

Following the audit, Biden remained in the lead by approximately 12,000 votes, leading Raffensperger to certify the election results on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020. Republic Gov. Brian Kemp signed the certification the same day. Then on Nov. 21, Trump requested a recount, as allowed under Georgia law given the closeness of the count.

On Dec. 4, 2020, then-President Trump and Republican elector David Shafer filed suit in a Fulton County state court against Raffensperger, arguing tens of thousands of votes counted in the presidential election had been cast in violation of Georgia law. While Trump’s lawsuit was still pending, on Dec. 7, 2020, based on the recount, Raffensperger recertified Biden as the winner of Georgia’s 16 electoral votes by a margin of 11,779.

Trump and Shafer’s Fulton County lawsuit contesting the election results remained pending on Dec. 14, 2020, the date the presidential electors were required by federal law to meet. Thus, while the Democrat electors met and cast their ballots for Joe Biden, the Republican electors met separately and cast their 16 votes for Trump.

At that time, Shafer made clear the Trump electors had met and cast their votes to ensure Trump’s legal battle in court remained viable. Nonetheless, following Biden’s election, Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis targeted the Republican electors as part of her criminal special purpose grand jury investigation.

While the grand jury has since issued a report and been disbanded, Willis agreed to grant immunity to eight of the electors, likely to push them to implicate the other electors. However, their lawyer confirmed in a court filing that none of the electors implicated anyone in criminal activity.

Since then, Shafer’s attorneys, Holly Pierson and Craig Gillen, wrote Willis a detailed letter reviewing the Hawaii precedent. The attorneys noted they had made three prior written requests to meet “to discuss the factual and legal issues” relevant to Shafer’s role as a contingent Trump elector but had “not yet received any response to those requests.”

The 11-page, single-spaced letter then proceeded to detail both the Hawaii precedent for Shafer’s actions following the 2020 election and the legal advice the Republican elector received that “he and the other contingent presidential electors should meet at the state capitol building on December 14, 2020, and perform the duties of a presidential elector to preserve potential remedies in the event Trump et al. v. Raffensperger, et al. was successful.”

 

Here we see one of the only differences between Trump’s legal challenge and Kennedy’s: The Hawaii state court promptly resolved the merits of Kennedy’s legal challenge, while in violation of the Georgia Election Code that requires lawsuits contesting elections to be heard within 20 days, the Fulton County court delayed assigning a judge to hear Trump’s election dispute and then delayed the first scheduled hearing until Jan. 8, 2021 — two days after Congress certified Biden the winner of the 2020 election.

Per the complaint, Binance engaged in unregistered offers and sales of securities and made false representations to investors regarding surveillance and controls over manipulative trading.

    According to the SEC’s claim, Binance and its subsidiary, BAM Trading, operated as an exchange, broker-dealer and clearing agency without registering with the SEC. ”

    In a response to the SEC’s complaint, Binance expressed disappointment and emphasized its active cooperation with the SEC’s investigations. Binance stated that it had engaged in extensive discussions to reach a settlement but that the SEC chose to act unilaterally. The company said it intends to vigorously defend its platform and criticized the SEC’s enforcement approach, calling for more clarity and guidance for the digital asset industry. CDC: 3.7 Million Births in U.S. Last Year, Far Below Replacement Level

  • Fewer than 3.7 million babies were delivered in the United States last year, keeping the nation consistently below replacement level as it has been since 2007, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) details in its provisional data.
  • According to the CDC, there were 3.66 million births in the U.S. last year which is only a slight decline from 2021 when a few thousand more births occurred. Overall, the fertility rate remained at 1.66 births per woman.

  • “The total fertility rate in 2022 remained at below replacement … the rate has generally been below replacement since 1971 and consistently below replacement since 2007,” the CDC report states.

BARBARA RUMPEL of Melbourne, Florida was the owner of N611VG; the Cessna that crashed in Virginia— it was just registered by her company in April 2023.

Barbara is alive. However, it’s confirmed that her daughter, granddaughter, nanny and pilot all died in the crash.

The mother-daughter victims are Adina Azarian, known as the “Queen of Real Estate” in the Hamptons, and her daughter Aria.

Barbara’s husband, John, lost his own daughter, Victoria, in a 1994 scuba diving accident.

Reportedly, the plane took off from Tennessee, flew over DC, to New York, did not land, turned around, was unresponsive, flew back over DC, and was intercepted by US MIL, and it crashed or was shot down in the Appalachian Mountains near Staunton, VA.

All New US Jobs Since The Covid Crash Have Gone To Foreign-Born Workers

  • Such as this: readers are probably aware that according to the BLS, there are now roughly 3.3 million more jobs (155.7 million) than there were at the peak just before the covid crash (152.4 million).

On the surface, this is an impressive accomplishment, as a deficit of some 22 million jobs has been erased in under three years.

  • But then, if one starts digging, some peculiarities emerge, like for example that much of jobs created in recent years have gone to “multiple jobholders“, meaning that not every “payroll” has been assigned to a unique individual, but instead there are now people who hold two, three or more jobs to make ends meet.

Or that much of the recent job creation has gone to low-paying part-time workers while full time jobs have stagnated.

Or that according to the household survey there was virtually no new jobs created for much of 2022 even as the establishment survey indicated that over 2 million new jobs had been added over the same period.

  • As noted above, if one believes the BLS, US payrolls are now a record high 155.7 million, or 161 million employed workers according to the Household survey. But if one digs a little deeper, one finds something rather peculiar: all of the jobs created since the covid crash have gone to foreign-born workers!
  • That’s right: as shown in the chart below, there are currently 131.1 million native-born US workers, which is down more than half a million from the pre-covid peak of 131.7 million reached in October 2019 (data source: Federal Reserve). Meanwhile, if only looks at the number of foreign-born workers, here the data paints a very different picture: having peaked at 27.8 million in Feb 2019, the number of foreign-born workers has not only recovered its covid crash losses, but has increased by an additional 2.2 million to a record 30.0 million as of April 2023!

Planned Layoffs Are Up Fourfold So Far This Year 

  • Companies announced a staggering 417,500 planned layoffs for the first five months of 2023. This is a massive acceleration and more than four times the job cuts compared to last year, according to Bloomberg, citing a report from outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas.
  • Disregarding early 2020, when Covid impacted the labor market, the total number of planned job cuts through May is the highest since 2009.

Challenger found most layoffs occurred in the tech industry, announcing 136,800 cuts for the first five months. That came close to eclipsing the full year of 2001 when the tech industry hemorrhaged 168,400.

  • Job cuts are beginning to spread like cancer from tech to other industries, including banking, retail, and media sectors. Challenger said the media industry announced 17,400 job cuts so far this year. Banking has seen a surge in layoffs. Financial firms announced 37,000 job cuts through May, more than four times the number compared to last year.
  • The Federal Reserve’s 14 months of aggressive interest rate hikes have led companies to reign in costs. Challenger said many firms have embarked on a hiring freeze due to mounting macroeconomic headwinds and increasing risk of a slowdown later this year.

Until we told Director Ray that he never even admitted that the form existed.

So the level of confidence that we have with Director Wray only went down, it only declined throughout the conversation. So we will go there and look at the Redacted document but we know what’s in the document and the reason we find this allegation credible not only because of the credibility of the whistleblower but because we’ve seen a pattern of Joe Biden when he was vice president, leaving a country after he talks about foreign aid and foreign policy and his family members start receiving payments from that company through shell companies that are then laundered down to Biden family members. So there is a pattern of behavior and we saw that in Romania, we’ve seen that in China, we’ve seen that in other countries that would suggest that this allegation has merit. Look, the Durham report proved that the FBI has lots of issues. We brought that up.

Senator Grassley and I reminded Director Ray that the Durham report was devastating to the credibility of the FBI and his response was that that all happened before he became FBI director. Director Ray, to be clear, will now face contempt of Congress unless he produces this document like we asked this unclassified document by Tuesday or Wednesday whenever we have the markup.

  • The Pentagon canceled on Wednesday a drag show scheduled to take place at an Air Force base in Nevada after Rep. Matt Gaetz (R., Fla.) flagged the event.

 

  • The show, which, per Gaetz, was billed as “family-friendly” and had no minimum age requirement, was scheduled to take place June 1 at Nellis Air Force Base. The Pentagon had previously denied that any taxpayer funds were used to organize such events, but in a May letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, Gaetz identified six drag shows, including the June 1 event, held or scheduled to be held at military installations. Family of 24-Year-Old Who Died After COVID Vaccine Files Groundbreaking Lawsuit Against Biden Administration 

  • The family of a 24-year-old college student who died after a dose of Pfizer’s COVID vaccine is suing the Biden administration’s Department of Defense in a groundbreaking action, which could have serious repercussions in the future.

Debunking another false claim that Trump violated national security law 

  • CNN is very excited: Trump was allegedly captured on a recording talking about how he’s knowingly retained “classified” documents. It seems that “journalists” are incapable of (and definitely unwilling to) understand that the classification system is different for U.S. Presidents. Meanwhile, Joe Biden and Mike Pence, both of whom illegally possessed classified documents, are going to walk away untouched.
  • CNN is bursting with the news that Trump practically confessed to the crime of illegally possessing “classified” documents:

 The recording indicates Trump understood he retained classified material after leaving the White House, according to multiple sources familiar with the investigation. On the recording, Trump’s comments suggest he would like to share the information but he’s aware of limitations on his ability post-presidency to declassify records, two of the sources said.

 

  •  Trump cannot be found guilty of illegally possessing classified material. In Navy v. Egan, 484 U.S. 518 (1988), the Supreme Court stated that the President has plenary power over document classification and other national security issues:

The President, after all, is the “Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States.” U.S.Const., Art. II, § 2. His authority to classify and control access to information bearing on national security and to determine whether an individual is sufficiently trustworthy to occupy a position in the Executive Branch that will give that person access to such information flows primarily from this constitutional investment of power in the President, and exists quite apart from any explicit congressional grant. See Cafeteria Workers v. McElroy, 367 U. S. 886, 367 U. S. 890 (1961).

  • Neither Congress nor the rule-makers in the various administrative agencies that report to the President may limit this power. The President does not need to follow any procedure to declassify documents. If he treats them as declassified, they are declassified. That’s how plenary power works.
  • So, regarding those documents to which CNN referred, if Trump gained control of them during his presidency, he could at that time do anything he liked with them. Heck, he could have read them aloud in the Rose Garden. However, showing that Trump properly understood their national security implications, while he possessed them quite legally, he was sensitive to the need to keep them safe from dangerous prying eyes.
  •   In America, all people, other than a sitting president (whose power exceeds congressional laws and regulatory rules), are forbidden to possess classified documents. Nevertheless, a one-time sitting president, who is the only person who did not violate any national security laws regarding documents, is being relentlessly persecuted, while two men who admittedly, and grievously, violated national security laws, are getting a pass.

  • America First Legal    obtained the emails from NARA through a FOIA request and has gradually released batches of the materials it obtained. While NARA redacted many of the emails, it further withheld entirely several more, merely confirming their existence.
  • Of particular interest is a communication from Hunter Biden business partner Eric Schwerin to the Office of the Vice President (OVP) about a “China Lunch” that preceded an official visit from then-Chinese President Hu Jintao to the U.S. in 2011. NARA acknowledged the communication’s existence but refused to release it because doing so “would disclose confidential advice between the President and his advisors, or between such advisors.”

The U.S. Government’s Over-Classification Epidemic: Ratcliffe

  •  
  • Overclassification—or unreasonable resistance to declassification—is sometimes a result of the desire to conceal embarrassing or inappropriate actions, but it’s more often done out of convenience, laziness or good old-fashioned CYA. After all, I’m not aware of any government employee getting in trouble for classifying something that didn’t really need to be classified, but there are serious ramifications for not classifying something that should be.
  • In part because the executive branch has been so slow to address this issue, a bipartisan group of lawmakers in Congress has filed bills to address over-classification and declassification issues. Perhaps they are hoping to force the White House to take action, but any President should be wary of the legislative branch encroaching on their Constitutional authority to classify and control access to national security information.
  • In a 2020 memo to the President’s National Security Advisor, I laid out how the current system came into effect: 

For decades, agencies often employed ad hoc, agency-specific policies, procedures, and markings to handle unclassified information that requires safeguarding or dissemination controls. This patchwork approach apparently resulted in agencies’ marking and handling information inconsistently, implementing allegedly unclear or unnecessarily restrictive dissemination policies, and creating potential obstacles to information sharing.”

This dynamic led to the Obama Administration in 2010 to issue an Executive order (EO 13556) retiring many of the various, inconsistent unclassified dissemination control markings used for this “gray area” information and replacing them all with a single marking: CUI.

This simplified approach sounded like a good idea at the time. But like many other well-intentioned government policies, it broke down in its implementation.

  • The Republican lawmakers explained that the debt ceiling legislation contains a crucial Republican provision, crafted by Rules Committee member Thomas Massie (R-KY), that would automatically pass a continuing resolution with a one percent across-the-board federal government cut if Congress fails to pass the 12 separate appropriations bills, which the Constitution stipulates.
  • Stefanik explained that the Appropriations Committee has already been working to identify “waste, fraud, and abuse” in the federal government, and the appropriations process would allow Republicans to go after the “deep state.”
