Consumer Credit Card Debt Explodes In July Despite Rates At 18-Year Highs 

  • Something is not quite right here.
  • Despite The Fed signaling rate-cuts as far as the eye can see, US credit-card interest rates have soared to the highest since 2001.
  • And despite credit card rates being at 18-year highs, US revolving debt (largely made up of credit card debt) has exploded in July to its highest on record.

This was the biggest MoM jump in revolving debt since Nov 2017…

 

  •  The recent exuberance over retail sales gains seems to be largely predicated on the back of an average joe who is forced to use his high-cost credit card to cover everyday expenses.

Citigroup Says Gold Could Go to $2,000; Is It Talking Its Book?

  • Citigroup released an analyst’s note yesterday stating that “We expect spot gold prices to trade stronger for longer, possibly breaching $2,000 an ounce and posting new cyclical highs at some point in the next year or two.”
  • Gold was last on a record-breaking streak in 2011 when it shot through handles of $1500, $1600, $1700 and $1800 from April through August of that year. On an intraday trading basis, gold reached a high of $1,917.90 an ounce on August 23, 2011 and another intraday high of $1923.70 on September 6, 2011.
  • Gold then spent the next five years trading back down to the $1100 range.

Deep State FBI Given Hard Evidence of Hillary Clinton-Linked $66 Billion Libya Scheme — Launched Junk Investigation Against Trump-Russia Hoax Instead

The documents, provided to the FBI in June 2016 as the agency was kicking its Trump-Russia investigation into high gear, allege that Clinton confidant Sidney Blumenthal sent her “a series of detailed memos and reports about Libya,” which were intended as a “quid pro quo” which might help a post-Gaddafi Libya recover as much as $66 billion in offshore funds hidden by the slain strongman.

According to the private investigators funded by Judicial Watch: “Our evidence shows that Mr. Blumenthal was involved with a group of intelligence professionals seeking to repatriate asset[s] which were plundered and then exfiltrated by the [Gaddafi] family and hidden in various offshore localities.”

  • CNN on Sept. 9 reported that in “a previously undisclosed secret mission in 2017, the United States successfully extracted from Russia one of its highest-level covert sources inside the Russian government.”
  • CNN wrote that “knowledge of the Russian covert source’s existence was highly restricted within the US government and intelligence agencies” and that “according to one source, there was ‘no equal alternative’ inside the Russian government, providing both insight and information on Putin.”
  • The article alleged that the decision to remove the highly placed mole from within the Kremlin was driven, in large part, by concerns that President Donald Trump and those within his administration had mishandled classified intelligence, thereby compromising the source’s safety.
  • The supposed classified information that CNN accused Trump of mishandling during his meeting with Lavrov and Kislyak appears almost identical to what had been publicly reported by CNN over a month previously in an April 1, 2017, article titled “New Terrorist Laptop Bombs May Evade Airport Security, Intel Sources Say.”
  • The fact that CNN had previously reported on this supposed classified information—the alleged mishandling of which formed the basis of CNN’s reasoning behind the Russian source’s extraction—was not mentioned in CNN’s Sept. 9 article.
  • NBC News Outs Source’s General Location
  • On the same day as the publication of the CNN article, NBC News’ Ken Dilanian disclosed that he had personally gone to the Russian source’s home on Sept. 9. His reporting also confirmed the general location of the source’s whereabouts.
  • New York Times Refutes Key Points of CNN Article
  • Later that evening, The New York Times published a more detailed article that had apparently been in the works for some time. As the newspaper noted, the article was “based on interviews in recent months with current and former officials who spoke on the condition that their names not be used discussing classified information.”
  • CIA Source’s Information on Russia Involvement Called Into Question
  • According to The New York Times, the source’s initial rejection of the exfiltration offer caused no small amount of doubt and consternation among CIA officials and led them to wonder whether the informant “had been turned and had become a double agent, secretly betraying his American handlers.”
  • “That would almost certainly mean that some of the information the informant provided about the Russian interference campaign or Mr. Putin’s intentions would have been inaccurate,” the article read.
  •  John Durham’s Investigation
  • On June 12, 2019, The New York Times reported that Justice Department (DOJ) officials planned to “interview senior C.I.A. officers as they review the Russia investigation,” noting that investigators are “focused partly on the intelligence agencies’ most explosive conclusion about the 2016 election: that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia intervened to benefit Donald J. Trump.”
  • Specifically, DOJ investigator John Durham intended to “talk with at least one senior counterintelligence official and a senior C.I.A. analyst.” The newspaper reported that both of these officials were “involved in the agency’s work on understanding the Russian campaign to sabotage the election in 2016.”
  • Attorney General Bill Barr reportedly wanted “to know more about the C.I.A. sources who helped inform its understanding of the details of the Russian interference campaign … [and] to better understand the intelligence that flowed from the C.I.A. to the F.B.I. in the summer of 2016.”
  • The CIA has formally denied the CNN article with Brittany Bramell, the CIA’s director of public affairs, telling CNN that “misguided speculation that the President’s handling of our nation’s most sensitive intelligence—which he has access to each and every day—drove an alleged exfiltration operation is inaccurate.”
  • White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham told CNN that its “reporting is not only incorrect, [but also] has the potential to put lives in danger.”

  • The National Rifle Association is suing the city and county of San Francisco and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for declaring it a domestic terrorist organization earlier this month through a resolution passed by the board.
  • In the lawsuit, which was filed Monday in the U.S. District Court in San Francisco, the NRA claims that SF and the Board of Supervisors “adopted a new government policy: blacklist anyone linked to the NRA.” They are claiming that the resolution violates the organization’s first and fourteenth amendment rights.
  • “Regrettably, this Court, too must step in to instruct elected officials that freedom of speech means you cannot silence or punish those with whom you disagree,” the NRA urged before going on to mention its millions of members, some of whom they say “have risked everything to protect Americans from terrorism.”

    The stealth movements that President Trump makes are comparable to the master moves made by the chess geniuses, (Pres. Trump) makes great gambit that obnubilates the opponent, intends to make them believe that he exposes an important piece (bishop in this case) so they (deep state) get confused and believe that they have won a triumph, when in reality they have exposed themselves and lose a piece, time and strategic positions and can no longer recover for the next crucial battle.

    Yes I remember when you could buy gas for your vehicle with cash. When did the credit score become available? I call the credit score discriminatory and a debtor’s prison. The credit card interest rates are egregious. When is someone going to challenge the banks on those shocking rates? They are Usuary Fees gone amuck.
