- Uduak-Joe Ntuk, the former head of the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM), alleged that he was “forced and coerced to resign” from his position nine days after filing a complaint with the state on January 4, 2023, National Review reported.

- Former Empire star Jussie Smollett is taking the appeal of his criminal conviction all the way to the Illinois Supreme Court.
- A lower appellate court had already upheld his convictions for his report of a hate crime.

- National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) officials confirmed Wednesday evening there were 764 tons of hazardous materials aboard a cargo ship that struck a Baltimore bridge and revealed some of the black box data before the impact.
