Biden Admin Releases Robust Leasing Schedule For Struggling Green Industry After Issuing Restrictive Oil And Gas Plan

  • The Biden administration unveiled a plan   to hold up to a dozen offshore wind leases over the next several years as the industry struggles to cement itself in the U.S.
  • The Department of the Interior (DOI) announced its five-year schedule for offshore wind leasing, which envisions lease sales for plots in the Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf of Mexico and waters off of American territories. The agency expects to offer four sales in 2024, one each in 2025 and 2026, two in 2027 and four in 2028.
  • The administration attempted to sell three areas in the Gulf of Mexico as offshore wind leases in August 2023, but the sales flopped as only one of the parcels received any bids. The Biden administration has previously touted its goal of having offshore wind supply enough electricity to power 10 million American homes by 2030, but Reuters reported in November 2023 that the lofty target for the industry appears to be firmly out of reach

Biden Regulator Passes Rule With Massive Implications For Millions Of Workers

  • The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a final rule Tuesday banning noncompete agreements nationwide, affecting millions of Americans.
  • Regulators argue that banning noncompetes will promote competition by giving workers greater ability to switch jobs, increasing innovation and leading to more businesses being created, according to an announcement from the FTC. The FTC estimates that around 18% of U.S. workers, or 30 million people, are covered under a noncompete, with the new rule applying to anyone not in a senior executive role, which is defined as someone who is making more than $151,164 and in a policy-making position.
  • “Noncompete clauses keep wages low, suppress new ideas, and rob the American economy of dynamism, including from the more than 8,500 new startups that would be created a year once noncompetes are banned,” FTC Chair Lina Khan said in the press release. “The FTC’s final rule to ban noncompetes will ensure Americans have the freedom to pursue a new job, start a new business, or bring a new idea to market.”
  • The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that it would be suing the administration to block the rule change.
  • “Today, three unelected commissioners have unilaterally decided they have the authority to declare what’s a legitimate business decision and what’s not by moving to ban noncompete agreements in all sectors of the economy,” Suzanne Clark, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce said in the announcement. “This decision sets a dangerous precedent for government micromanagement of business and can harm employers, workers, and our economy. The Chamber will sue the FTC to block this unnecessary and unlawful rule and put other agencies on notice that such overreach will not go unchecked.”

She argued that Texas state troopers had no probable cause to arrest the illegals despite what they witnessed and experienced; saying: “This is nothing more than an attempt to arrest and harass.” Apparently this crazy Judge agreed with her despite witness accounts from the state troopers. The judge said this: “After reviewing the affidavit, I don’t believe that probable cause exists…

Senate Passes Foreign Aid Package, Bill That Could Ban TikTok

  • The Democratic-controlled Senate voted to pass House Republican Speaker Mike Johnson’s foreign aid supplemental on Tuesday that provides billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, as well as language that could trigger a ban on the social media app TikTok.
  • The legislation also includes measures to put pressure on China and Iran, as well as a provision to force TikTok’s CCP-linked parent company ByteDance to sell the app in roughly nine months to continue operating in the U.S.

Cyberattack has disrupted a Bay Area county’s library system for weeks, officials say 

Solano County’s library network systems have been down for more than two weeks due to a cyberattack that has disrupted phone lines, computer services and Wi-Fi at its branches — which remain open, officials said.

The April 5 attack targeted the Solano Partner Libraries and St. Helena network, known as SPLASH, according to a news release by officials in St. Helena, in neighboring Napa County.

 

The hackers demanded a $100,000 ransom, and threatened to release data they claimed to have stolen from the system if their demands were not met, St. Helena officials said.

    Again, you don’t keep your stories straight. A year ago you kept screaming how evil Tik-Tok was. How it’s owned by the CCP. How they use it to steal “your info”, etc, etc. How Obiden/Obama want to keep it.
    NOW you say Obiden getting rid of it is a bad thing. How it will make younger voters not vote for him.
    Wait a minute. A year ago you jump up & down & scream Tik-Tok must be eliminated. NOW you say how bad it is that Obiden is getting rid of it. You can’t have it both ways. But you DO try.
