  • In a sweeping move that marks the end of an era for bargain shoppers, the “99 Cents Only” chain is set to permanently close all of its 371 locations. Faced with a perfect storm of retail challenges, the discount store is buckling under the weight of what they’re calling “significant and lasting challenges in the retail environment,” including the harsh ripple effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a statement obtained by Fox San Antonio, their demise is fuelled by “shifting consumer demand, rising levels of shrink, persistent inflationary pressures, and other macroeconomic headwinds.”

The dirty little secret of Biden’s economic resurgence

  • In the midst of what has been touted as an economic resurgence under President Biden’s administration, a discerning examination from a conservative standpoint reveals a nuanced and, at times, troubling picture of whom this resurgence actually benefits.
  •  the policies that are purported to stimulate the economy are disproportionately advantageous to foreign-born illegal aliens over American citizens.
  • The displacement effect, where Americans are edged out of opportunities or find their wages suppressed, is a real and palpable concern.  Such displacement is often justified under the guise of filling labor shortages or performing jobs Americans are unwilling to do, yet this overlooks the broader economic ramifications and the principle of fair and lawful entry into the job market.

  •  retirement become so expensive? Rising costs of living, longer life expectancy, and possible future Social Security benefits cuts are some reasons. To put this in perspective, the average American has just $65,000 in savings, 22 times LESS than they need for retirement. Are we in a retirement crisis?

Pro-Life Leaders Give Mixed Signals After Trump Fails To Endorse Federal Abortion Ban

  • Pro-life leaders had mixed reactions after former President Donald Trump failed to announce his support for a federal abortion ban on Monday.
  • Trump argued in a statement posted on Truth Social Sunday that while he supported the fight for life, he noted that winning elections and the “salvation of our Nation” was also important to the future of the country. Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action, responded to the president’s statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying that “there’s no ‘salvation of our Nation’ while we are permitting killing children.”
  • Kristin Hawkins, president of Students for Life America, however, wrote on X that while the former president needed to be educated on a federal response to abortion there is room to “work with” Trump on the issue.

  •   Democrats are now preparing a billion-dollar election-year barrage with radical abortion as its centerpiece. While Trump did not commit to any specific pro-life policies, he notably will not stand in the way of states that have acted to protect innocent children from the violent abortion industry.”

Devin Nunes defends Truth Social as ‘impenetrable beachhead’ against Big Tech

  • Nunes said the company is “well-positioned” because it works well and has no debt.
  • Devin Nunes, the CEO of Truth Social, on Sunday defended the social media platform as an “impenetrable beachhead” against Big Tech companies
  • We were overregulated, so if you actually look at the cost that we built Truth Social, our beachhead against Big Tech, an impenetrable beachhead that everybody said couldn’t be done without using Big Tech companies, that was built for a fraction of what many of these Big Tech dinosaur companies were built for,” Nunes said Sunday on Fox News.

No, Israel is not starving Gaza

  • The recent airstrike error on a food aid vehicle in Gaza highlighted a certain narrative going around claiming that Israel’s plan is to create a famine, starving the Gaza residents into submission, so the food aid is the only thing out there saving their lives.

Here’s how bad it’s gotten out there, from a sampling of the headlines:

Gaza is going hungry. Its children could face a lifetime of harm. –Washington Post

Road to Famine: Israeli Law Prof. Neve Gordon on Israel’s History of Weaponizing Food Access in Gaza –Democracy Now!

Breaking the fast in the shadow of famine –The National

José Andrés: the chef behind Gaza food aid charity that ‘moves towards disaster’ –The Guardian

Let’s also not forget the eurotrash and their top ally, Joe Biden, who are also promoting this “narrative”:

Despite the war, three-quarters of greenhouse acres were still available as of Feb. 15, according to a United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) report, which has the latest available data. Israel’s Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) indicates that bakeries can still provide “over 2 million breads, rolls, and pita breads a day.”

  • According to this United Nations chart, at least half the farms in Gaza are still going, their farm exports are still reaching their foreign customers, three quarters of the greenhouses are still producing, the bakeries are still baking, yet somehow, everyone in Gaza is starving to death.
  • That is one funny way of running a man-made famine.
  • The Columbia scholars didn’t deny that there was hardship in some areas, but they did point out what was happening in areas where people really didn’t have enough to eat and needed to rely on food aid:
  • Hamas is stealing all the food.

According to Columbia’s Awi Federgruen and Ran Kivetz:

Hamas, which has been hoarding food and stealing from Gazans, is the root cause of Gazans’ suffering. As Congressman Jim Himes, a Connecticut Democrat and ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, stated in a CNN interview: “Hamas has a long history of stealing aid, and needs to stop that in the interest of the people that they purport to represent.”

  • How do you starve when you’re still exporting food?

There’s also this aid as well on top of what the Gazans already have:

COGAT data show that 290,000 tons of food and beverages have been delivered to Gaza since October — recently as many as 200 truckloads a day. Full distribution of these supplies would deliver about 1.82 pounds of food daily for each of the 2 million people in Gaza (145 kg per person, during 175 days of war). Based on FAO estimates of the average daily consumption in Asia and Africa (where Gaza is situated), this alone would be enough to supply 50% of Gazans’ daily consumption needs – on top of the food they continue to produce themselves.

  • That’s a lot of free food — and hungry Gazans don’t get enough of it, because Hamas takes first dibs, ripping the aid from the hands and mouths of the people they impoverished like a parasite on a host.

Black Student Athletes Not Responding to NAACP’s Call to Boycott Florida

  • In March, the NAACP’s president and CEO, Derrick Johnson, sent a letter to NCAA president Charlie Baker on Monday asking Black student-athletes to reconsider attending public colleges and universities in Florida.
  • Johnson’s letter was in response to dismantling Marxist Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs throughout the state.
  • In January, The Florida Board of Governors passed a regulation limiting public funding for DEI programs, defining them as “any program, campus activity, or policy that classifies individuals on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, gender identity, or sexual orientation and promotes differential or preferential treatment of individuals on the basis of such classification.”
  • In his letter, Johnson wrote, “To all current and prospective college student-athletes – the NAACP urges you to reconsider any potential decision to attend, and compete at a predominantly white institution in the state of Florida.”

It seems, however, that student-athletes are not listening to the NAACP’s demands.

College Fix did an analysis that identified at least 35 of the top-ranked black student-athletes in basketball and football who recently signed with universities in Florida.

  • The Fix shared this list with the NAACP and asked for comment. The group has not responded to two emailed inquiries sent in the past three weeks. The Fix sent another email on April 4 to Press Secretary Alicia Mercedes and Public Relations Manager Chyna Fields, asking if anyone has decommitted. Neither responded to the email.A news search about “decommits” did not yield any proof of black athletes leaving Florida universities due to the NAACP boycott demand.

JUST IN: Federal Appeals Court Blocks Joe Biden’s Student Loan Bailout Program

  • A federal appeals court blocked one of Joe Biden’s student loan bailout programs.
  • The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday blocked Biden’s plan to cancel loans for borrowers who claim they were victims of ‘misleading information’ by colleges.
  • A three-judge panel – one Reagan appointee and two Trump appointees – said Biden’s program was ‘almost certainly unlawful.’

ABC News reported:

Biden has used a series of workarounds to circumvent the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down his student loan bailout program.

  • Last year the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against Joe Biden’s student loan relief program so the Department of Education rolled out a workaround forbearance program to cancel $39 billion in student loans by counting non-payments as payments for a period of time.

  • Last month, former AZ gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and AZ Secretary of State candidate Mark Finchem appealed their federal lawsuit seeking to ban electronic voting machines to the US Supreme Court with new allegations uncovered since the case was previously argued.
  • The new allegations,  included failure by Maricopa County officials to conduct the mandated Logic and Accuracy testing, failure to only use certified software on Arizona’s voting machines, and critical encryption keys stored in plain-text that were found in accessible databases during the Arizona audit

Judge Cannon Rejects Jack Smith’s Demands of Her Jury Instruction Order as “Unprecedented and Unjust”

  • Judge Aileen Cannon on Thursday rejected Trump’s motion to dismiss the classified documents case based on the Presidential Records Act.
  • In February Trump’s legal team filed several motions to dismiss Jack Smith’s classified documents case.
  • Cannon has now denied two of Trump’s motions to dismiss Jack Smith’s lawfare case playing out in a federal court in Florida.
  • “The Superseding Indictment specifies the nature of the accusations against Defendant Trump in a lengthy speaking indictment with embedded excerpts from investigative interviews, photographs, and other content,” Cannon wrote in her brief order on Thursday. “Accepting the allegations of the Superseding Indictment as true, the Presidential Records Act does not provide a pre-trial basis to dismiss.”

  • 1. A Democratic presidential campaign, representing the incumbent party, fabricated evidence that its Republican opponent and the eventual president-elect was a Russian agent, and the in-power party’s FBI legitimated the evidence in the eyes of the media so it would be widely reported and believed by the public…
  • 2. When the formerly incumbent party’s candidate was seeking to reclaim the White House four years later, the same former officials concocted a new lie to cover up embarrassing information about the candidate’s family. These highly connected former officials had five days to check things out before claiming Hunter Biden’s laptop had “classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” The New York Post included a receipt showing the FBI had already been in possession of the data for 10 months. Its story documented how the Post acquired the same data. Specific, dated and verifiable events and messages weren’t denied by the Bidens, etc.”
