Once the gas tank is empty in a automobile is also stops. If the “grid” is down, you are unable to get fuel out of the underground service station tanks because of electric punps. Generator, you say. All the POS terminals and pump control electronics are networked to a control server that handles transactions and controls the pump dispense. They are NOT turned on or off at the service station counter without first being authorized to do so BY the server even if they resorted to pencil, paper and a shoe box for cash transactions.
