US Credit Card Interest Rates Hit Highest Level In 25 Years As Economy Slows, Fed Eases 

  • The gap between what banks are being charged to borrow money, and what their charging consumers, is widening once again. According to the FT, US consumers are paying higher interest rates on credit-card balances than they have in 25 years.

The average rate on interest-bearing card accounts topped 17 per cent in May, according to Fed data, the highest in the 25 years that the central bank has been making the calculation. Weekly data based on a Creditcards.com survey of 100 national card issuers found an average rate of 17.8 per cent at the end of July, another multi-decade high.

  • Credit card rates started rising off their long-term lows as the Fed started raising the benchmark interest rate between late 2015 and the end of last year. But issuers soon outpaced the Fed, and rates continued to rise as the Fed embarked on its July rate cut. Now, the spread between the Fed funds rate and the rate that card issuers pay to hold deposits is, at just under 15%, the widest in recent memory. The spread has only been wider once: In the third quarter of 2009.

JPMorgan: The Fed Will Need To Restart QE Soon 

  • according to an analysis from Bank of America, the Fed may be forced to launch Quantitative Easing as soon as Q4 to provide the market with the much needed liquidity, or else suffer the consequences of a major liquidity shortage.

  • The last time this measure of US excess money supply had shifted into negative territory was during the euro debt crisis years of 2010- 2012, which prompted the Fed to launch QE2 (as well as Operation Twist and QE3) and also eventually resulted in the ECB violating Article 123 of the Maastricht treat, prohibiting monetary financing of states, and led to Draghi launching his own QE.  Source: zerohedge.com

FEC complaint filed against Joaquin Castro 

  • Dan Backer filed an FEC complaint alleging that Castro’s actions violated the Federal Election Campaign Act by encouraging harassment of the donors.

“By exposing Trump donors — and one of his own as well — to bullying and intimidation, Castro broke the law, and it’s high time we hold him accountable for his despicable, cowardly actions,” Backer said.

Judge Allows Libel Suit Against NPR Related to Seth Rich Case to Proceed – The Murdered IT Operative Linked to DNC and Clinton Campaign

      • BAck in July   Texas businessman Ed Butowsky filed a lawsuit where he outed reporter Ellen Ratner as his source for information on Seth Rich.  The DNC operative was murdered in the summer of 2016 in Washington DC.  His murder was never solved.  According to the lawsuit  Seth Rich  provided WikiLeaks the DNC emails before the 2016 election, not Russia.
      • This totally destroys the FBI and Mueller’s claims that Russians hacked the DNC to obtain these emails.
      • Butowsky claims in his lawsuit:

Ms. Rattner said Mr. Assange told her that Seth Rich and his brother, Aaron, were responsible for releasing the DNC emails to Wikileaks. Ms. Rattner said Mr. Assange wanted the information relayed to Seth’s parents, as it might explain the motive for Seth’s murder.

      • On November 9 2016 Ellen Ratner admitted publicly that she met with Julian Assange for three hours the Saturday before the 2016 election. According to Ratner, Julian Assange told her the leaks were not from, they were not from the Russians, they were an internal source from the Hillary Campaign.

      • Now after a further review of the redacted FBI transcripts obtained by Butowsky we’ve uncovered some surprising information.  The clowns at the FBI forgot to redact concordance search words out of the redacted areas of the transcript which show information on what they took out of the document!

But the ding dongs at the corrupt FBI forgot to eliminate the list of words that were redacted as well as the pages and lines where they were redacted!

The associate Deputy Director. Representatives from the actual investigative team, so Pete Strzok was the lead agent that briefed the Director. Then there were representatives from the Office of the General Counsel, typically, the general counsel himself, other representatives from the Office of General Counsel. Would you like them?

      • Rybicki also confirms that he was at the meeting when Obama’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch told former FBI Director James Comey to refer to the Clinton investigation as a matter. 
      • Next, when referring to obtaining the Wiener laptop that was magically reviewed just before the 2016 election, Rybicki says this –

Mr. Somers. So did the DOD attorneys, they didn’t want to authorize a search warrant or other compulsory —

Again, I just want to be careful only because my recollection, I can’t remember whether the Bureau sought consent first and then were seeking — if they were denied consent access to sort of compulsory process. I just don’t have that level of recollection on it. I’m sure that was discussed in these updates, just sitting here I don’t remember.

Mr. Somers. And you also don’t remember are we talking national security division or U.S. attorneys?

  • The White House is reportedly planning an executive order that would give the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) a role in determining what gets censored on big tech platforms.
  •  the new FCC rules would change how Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act is implemented. Section 230 currently grants tech companies broad immunity to censor content they consider ” lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected.”
  • If this is what happens  the FCC could limit the range of corporate censorship which is currently protected under the law.
