July Payrolls Miss Expectations At 187K, Follow Big Downward Revisions, But Unemployment Rate Drops And Earnings Come In Hot

  •  jobs report was a tale of two opposites: on one hand, the monthly payrolls change for July missed expectations of 200K (and certainly the whisper number of 222K) printing at 187K, which would have been down from 200K and the lowest since Dec 2020… if only June wasn’t revised sharply lower to 185K (more on that below).

 

  • JUST IN – U.S. economy added fewer jobs than expected in July, the lowest level since 2020.
  • Previous 2 months were revised down by 49,000 total jobs.

  • In keeping in with Biden admin’s penchant of constantly fabricating data, both May and June numbers were revised sharply lower of course:
  • May revised down by 25,000, from +306,000 to +281,000
  • June was revised down by 24,000, from +209,000 to +185,000.

Russian Navy Ship Heavily Damaged In Ukrainian Sea Drone Attack 

  • Ukraine says its military operation has severely damaged a Russian naval ship – the Olenogorsky Gornyak – off the port of Novorossiysk, a major hub for Russian exports. Video and images appear to show the vessel is listing in the aftermath. Importantly, the port is among the largest in the Black Sea basin and is significantly far from Ukrainian shores, on the clear other side of the Crimean peninsula.

CNN Poll: Majority of Americans oppose more US aid for Ukraine in war with Russia 

  • Most Americans oppose Congress authorizing additional funding to support Ukraine in its war with Russia, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, as the public splits over whether the US has already done enough to assist Ukraine.
  • Overall, 55% say the US Congress should not authorize additional funding to support Ukraine vs. 45% who say Congress should authorize such funding. And 51% say that the US has already done enough to help Ukraine while 48% say it should do more. A poll conducted in the early days of the Russian invasion in late February 2022 found 62% who felt the US should have been doing more.

Poland and Lithuania say they fear provocations from Russia and Belarus at NATO’s eastern flank

  •  Polish and Lithuanian leaders held an urgent meeting Thursday in a strategically sensitive area where their NATO nations border Belarus and the Russian territory of Kaliningrad, warning that they are bracing for provocations from Moscow and Minsk in the area.
  • The meeting came two days after two Belarusian helicopters flew briefly at low altitude into Polish air space, in what was viewed as a provocative move. Both nations on NATO’s eastern flank have increased their border security following the arrival of thousands of Russia-linked Wagner group mercenaries just across their borders in Belarus after an aborted mutiny in Russia in June.

(AP) — A cyberattack has disrupted hospital computer systems in several states, forcing some emergency rooms to close and ambulances to be diverted, and many primary care services remained closed on Friday as security experts worked to determine the extent of the problem and resolve it.
  • The “data security incident” began Thursday at facilities operated by Prospect Medical Holdings, which is based in California and has hospitals and clinics there and in Texas, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania.
  • “Upon learning of this, we took our systems offline to protect them and launched an investigation with the help of third-party cybersecurity specialists,” the company said in a statement Friday. “While our investigation continues, we are focused on addressing the pressing needs of our patients as we work diligently to return to normal operations as quickly as possible.”
  • In Connecticut, the emergency departments at Manchester Memorial and Rockville General hospital were closed for much of Thursday and patients were diverted to other nearby medical centers.

Prediction: Jack Smith Will Get a DC Jury to Convict Trump and SCOTUS Will Vacate It. In Fact, Smith Is Counting on It
  • Remember Smith was the head of the public corruption unit at DOJ when, in 2014, he brought public corruption charges against sitting Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell. McDonnell was charged with 14 counts. Those counts included honest services wire fraud, obtaining property under “color of official right,” and extortion under “color of official right.” Like most DOJ attorneys with the power of the US government at their fingertips, charging McDonnell and his wife wasn’t enough. Smith’s team threatened to arrest McDonnell’s children if the governor and his wife discussed the case with them. After a three-week trial, he and his wife were convicted. The Court of Appeals affirmed both convictions, but in 2015, the Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision, vacated Smith’s convictions, finding that Smith and his strongarming gang had invented a new meaning for “official act.” Smith had interpreted the statutory term of “official act” too broadly. So it seems that Smith has a history of channeling Lavrentiy Beria. Beria was Stalin’s secret police chief and was infamous for targeting someone and then finding a crime to fit the arrest. “Find me the man, and I will show you the crime” – or some iteration of the same.
  • Smith knows that he and his team of attorney goons have a bad-faith interpretation of the federal criminal statutes. In May of this year, the Supreme Court clearly signaled that the recent attempts to overcharge and misread a 150-year-old statute weren’t going to find a willing ear with a majority of SCOTUS.
  • In May, the court unanimously found that the DOJ was expanding the definition of criminal “fraud” beyond the bounds intended and written by Congress. In Ciminelli v. United States, penned by Justice Thomas, and Percoco v. United States, written by Justice Alito, the court reversed both convictions 9-0, in essence telling the DOJ that it cannot invent new definitions for criminal statutes not clearly intended by Congress. In fact, in concurrences by Gorsuch and Thomas, the Justices opined that not only were jury instructions open-ended, the fraud statutes were hopelessly vague and invalid.
  • Smith wants this trial to be front-page news and led on cable news before the 2024 election. Smith expects Trump to be convicted because this is DC.

    Truth and deep earth science be known, petroleum is a renewable resource, generated abiotically and welling up from deep within the earth.     I have a complete different take on Trump’s trial being televised or not. First of all, the Dems/RINOs no way in hell want it televised. Schiff is making it LOOK like he’s all in for transparency, while knowing full well it will never be approved to be televised.

Damn’ 5 years as a LEO – I took plenty of phots of individuals. All had to be a fixed size, background, angle, etc. IDENTIFICATION. They serve no other purpose
