    Gunra does not need specialized “ICS-destroying” malware to shut things down. Encrypting the IT backbone of a hospital, utility, manufacturer, or transportation operator is often enough to halt or severely degrade critical services until systems are restored (or a ransom is paid). That is exactly why the joint FBI/CISA/NSA/etc. advisory urges urgent patching, offline immutable backups, and network segmentation for these organization

Main recommended protections highlighted by the agencies:

  • Patch known vulnerabilities on internet-facing systems (especially VPNs, firewalls, and RDP).
  • Maintain offline, immutable (unchangeable) backups stored separately/segmented.
  • Segment networks to limit how far attackers can move if they get in.
  • Use multi-factor authentication, least-privilege access, and other standard hardening measures.

A community note was added to the post attributing the attack to Russia; however, the WHO statement on the attack fails to identify a specific attacker.  The sources cited by X Community Notes link to Politico, Ukrainska Pravda, Kyiv Independent, The Independent, and Liga.net, but none cite any specific source attributing the attack to Russia.

Obama Judge Talwani Expands Block on Key Parts of President Trump’s Executive Order on Mail-In Voting

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked the US Postal Service from restricting mail-in voting.

US District Judge Indira Talwani, an Obama appointee, expanded her previous block on President Trump’s executive order on mail-in voting.

The Boston-based Judge previously blocked President Trump’s March 2025 executive order, specifically his attempt to create a federal voter list.

In March 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order 14248: Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections.

On Tuesday, Judge Talwani blocked the US Postal Service from implementing Trump’s executive order that would make mail-in ballots more secure.
