  • The IRS last year claimed the extra $80 billion would help the IRS “restore fairness in tax compliance by shifting more attention onto high-income earners, partnerships, large corporations and promoters abusing the nation’s tax laws. The effort… will center on adding more attention on wealthy, partnerships and other high earners that have seen sharp drops in audit rates for these taxpayer segments during the past decade. ”
  • According to a new audit of the agency, as of just less than a year ago, 63 percent of new IRS audit inquiries were to middle-income earners who made less than $200,000.
  • “Only a small overall share reached the very highest earners, while 80% of audits covered filers earning less than $1 million,” the Wall Street Journal editorial board reported last week. “Don’t forget to save those charitable-giving receipts.”

Bridge Collapse: Moody’s Cuts Maryland Transportation Authority’s Debt Outlook To Negative

  • The fallout from the Port of Baltimore bridge collapse has sparked supply chain snarls and economic pains in the Maryland area, forcing Moody’s Ratings to downgrade the outlook of the Maryland Transportation Authority’s debt from “stable” to “negative” because of mounting “uncertainties around the Francis Scott Key Bridge’s replacement project’s costs, including their funding and timing.”
  • “Any negative impact from the replacement project would be on top of financial metrics that were expected to narrow from capital investments prior to the loss of the bridge,” Cintia Nazima, a Moody’s analyst, noted in a report initially mentioned by Bloomberg.
  • Moody’s maintained the Aa2 rating for the MTA’s revenue bonds, linked to about $2.2 billion in outstanding debt. Nazima explained that this rating “reflects the essentiality of the authority’s road network, the fundamental strength of the service area, and its history of strong financial and operational management and performance.”
  • The analyst said the 1.6-mile (2.6-kilometer) Key Bridge comprised about 7% of MTA’s total revenue in 2023. They expect traffic to be rerouted on adjacent highways and tunnels, adding the MTA will likely recapture most of the lost toll revenue.
  • The bridge was the primary land feeder into the Port of Baltimore. It connected the port to the I-95 highway network in the Mid-Alantic.

  • “This may delay it a month or so, I’m not sure of that. We don’t know what the Fed is going to do for certain,” Biden said.
  • “But look, we have dramatically reduced inflation from 9 percent down to close to 3 percent. We’re in a situation where we’re better situated than we were when we took office, where inflation was skyrocketing,” he added.

    Evil – Why does this time of evil on this earth exist? Would you like to know why? Really, it is very simple. This started some 6,000 years ago in the Garden of Eden (which is the ONLY paradise mentioned for us in the Bible). Adam and Eve were created perfect (Deuteronomy 32:4 The Rock, perfect is his activity [the Rock here refers to our Heavenly Father]). Everything the Father does is done perfectly and this includes His creative work. Plus, Adam and Eve had the tree of life in the Garden, and, the blessing given to them and all of their descendents in Genesis 1:28 included eternal life here on this planet, which is guaranteed in many verses to exist forever.
    How does someone lose perfection? By a deliberate action (sin) that destroyed their perfection & their relationship, which is required to be able to live forever, with the Father. We are told in 1 Timothy 2:14 that Adam was the guilty party; NOT Eve. The other offending party was Satan, who told the first lie ever spoken in the Father’s creation. We are also told in the Bible (Rev. 12:4) that 1/3 of the Angels in Heaven followed Satan in his rebellion against the Father. Please note this verse; Genesis 3:23 With that Jehovah God expelled him from the garden of Eʹden to cultivate the ground from which he had been taken. 24 So he drove the man out, and he posted at the east of the garden of Eʹden the cherubs and the flaming blade of a sword that was turning continuously to guard the way to the tree of life.

    I believe firmly that the DS and the credit card companies are working in tandem. With things being as bad as it is right now, they are now going after everyone that can’t pay. Try to work with the credit card companies now and your told, we cant do that. It is like they want massive defaults and of course the debt collectors are salivating because now they have a huge pool of people that cant afford to defend against them.
    I wonder how many people are going unalive because of them.
    I can say that our govt reps local, state and federal just don’t give a rats ass about us anymore.
