- The time cost alone of recharging an electric vehicle makes such vehicles uncompetitive, even apart from the costs of the batteries and other problems.
- The International Energy Agency estimates that only a partial energy transition would require increases in the supplies of lithium, graphite, nickel, and rare earths by 4,200%, 2,500%, 1,900%, and 700%, respectively, by 2040. This staggering problem of materials is “inherent in the nature of SWB technologies,” which means that the cost of unconventional energy will rise even more.

Yellen Warns Next Crisis Could Come From ‘Shadow Banks’ And Regulators Must Act

Brazil has become more and more dependent on Russian fertilizer.
- If the proposed BRICS currency manages to replace the U.S. dollar, there would be several potential consequences, which include the following.
- Weakened U.S. economic and geopolitical power: If the U.S. dollar were no longer the global currency, the U.S. would lose much of its influence over the global financial system, which would weaken its standing in the world.
- Increase the dollar’s volatility: The U.S. dollar’s status as the global currency helps to stabilize the world’s financial system. If it were to no longer hold this role, there could be an increase in volatility as investors and banks contend with different currencies battling for dominance.
- Impact on international trade: If the U.S. dollar were no longer the global currency, international trade would become more complex and expensive. Countries may have to engage in currency swaps or use multiple currencies in their transactions.

Fetterman Does First Post-Depression Interview and Raises a Multitude of Questions
- John Fetterman has finally been released from the hospital after suffering from a reported bout of severe depression.
- It’s good to be a Democrat, though, and the press has been rushing to cover for him since day one. That continued on Friday with an interview with CBS News that did nothing but raise a multitude of questions.
- For starters, is this guy a US senator or not? I’m not trying to downplay his condition. Quite the contrary, but the Senate is not a place to battle depression, much less serious health issues that leave one unable to communicate. T
- Past that, a lot of people noticed where Fetterman’s eyes were going during the interview. Not only is reading the questions on some kind of monitor just off-screen (which CBS News is careful to not show), but he’s pretty clearly also reading his answers. His eyes stay glued to the screen the entire time, with only passing glances at the interviewer herself.
- There were also 11 different editing cuts in the 45-second clip that CBS News released. Let me say that again. There were 11 cuts in under a minute.
- Those edits weren’t just made for promotional purposes. They were cuts all made during a single question. Why? Because Fetterman takes time to read his monitor and often loses his train of thought. CBS News, instead of being honest with its audience, is trying to hide that fact.

FBI: Raid of Palm Beach Gardens lawyer’s home found him downloading, viewing child pornography
- An attorney who built a career representing sexual-abuse victims faces federal charges following an arrest for allegedly possessing child pornography.
- FBI agents arrested a Palm Beach Gardens lawyer known for representing victims of sexual abuse after they found him actively downloading and viewing child pornography on his laptop, federal prosecutors announced Wednesday.
- The officers forcefully entered the West Palm Beach home of Michael T. Dolce, 53, on March 15 and found the attorney in bed, an open laptop containing nearly 2,000 images and photos of child pornography in front of him, according to his arrest affidavit.
- Prosecutors say Dolce used a BitTorrent network, which are built for peer-to-peer file sharing, to anonymously download pornography depicting children between 5 and 11 years old in sexually explicit positions. Authorities have not said what led to them to obtain search warrants of Dolce’s home and car.

The files detailed the company’s censorship efforts and collusion with government agencies towards those goals. One batch of the files by Michael Shellenberger showed that there were many former FBI agents on staff at Twitter while then-FBI Supervisory Special Agent Elvis Chan served as the lead operative in requesting Twitter censor many stories, including those around Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell.”
Another batch of the files showed that federal agencies, including the FBI and Department of Homeland Security, partnered with contractors to “pressure Twitter to moderate content” and would use information portals to send constant information to Twitter on what accounts to restrict.

- President Joe Biden has repeated his call for an “assault weapons” ban after Monday’s deadly mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville.

Hundreds of NYC prosecutors quitting woke bosses and onerous reforms
- The number of prosecutors fleeing the city’s district attorneys offices has spiraled in the wake of criminal justice reforms that have created what one ex-top prosecutor called “insanity.”
- Sixty five assistant district attorneys, or about 12 percent of the staff, have resigned so far this year from Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s office, up from about 44 through the end of March. During all of 2021, 97 ADAs quit.
- The situation is nearly the same in the office of Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez, where 67 of some 500 prosecutors, or about 13 percent, have also called it quits as of June 17. Another three resigned on Thursday, according to a source. That is compared to 84 who left in all of 2020 and 94 last year.
- In the Bronx, 59 prosecutors have walked from January through May. Reps from the Queens and Staten Island DA offices did not respond to requests for data.
- When Bragg took the helm of the Manhattan office in January, at least nine lawyers quit in the first two weeks, The Post revealed.
- Some were spurred to leave, sources said, by Bragg’s soft-on-crime approach which he outlined in a “Day One” memo directing ADAs to not seek prison sentences for many criminals and to downgrade some felonies to misdemeanors.

- Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office revealed to House Republicans that roughly $5,000 in federal funds has gone toward Bragg’s office’s investigation of former President Donald Trump or the Trump Organization.
- The funds, Bragg’s general counsel Leslie Dubeck wrote to three powerful GOP chairmen, Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH), James Comer (R-KY), and Bryan Steil (R-WI), came from the Justice Department’s Asset Forfeiture Fund and were used to investigate Trump and his organization between October 2019 and August 2021, before Bragg took office.

Under New York law, it is a felony to leak confidential grand jury information, such as whether the jurors voted to indict. The protection of secrecy is as applicable to President Trump as it is to anyone else,” the attorney said in an op-ed for The New York Sun.
