Carney blew the deal up because he is shilling for the [CB] because they are trying to hold onto the original agenda where to shift everything to China. This has already failed. Bessent in the process of shifting the control from the Fed to the Treasury, this will allow the market to control the prices. [CB] days are numbered. The [DS] is now preparing for the midterms. They know that Trump has been mitigating their cheating. They are preparing to say Trump has cheated in the election, they are ready to use Antifa to push riots. Trump and team have sent a clear message to the far left terrorist cells, we know what you are up to and we are countering your agenda. Trump sets his focus on Obama. SC just ruled in Trumps favor in regard to mail-in ballots, now the Judge that has been blocking just folded. The D’s are going to lose the midterms.

Economy

engine; and that tech platforms pay him to censor information and subsidize official narratives. In other words, Mark Carney was looking for an excuse/justification not to make a trade deal and make a political statement that would appeal to the uber leftist French Québécois and his partners in Beijing.

  • There are many people in Canada demanding to see the rough draft proposals of the U.S-Canada trade agreement so they can judge for themselves the issues that Carney claimed were irreconcilable.  For those people this interview today by Canadian Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc will only embolden those requests.
  •  Carney was obviously looking for a reason to walk away, because the fracture points were ridiculously small.
  • Essentially, it boils down to four issues. !1) Removal of tariffs on Canadian assembled Semi-Trucks. (2) U.S. streaming services writing code for “search engines” in the French language. (3) Canada demanding 5% of gross revenues from U.S. tech platforms, and the last one is silly because it already exists: (4) the U.S. having a right to reject a trade deal made by Canada with a non-market economy, ie. CHINA.

  • ♦U.S. tariffs on Canadian Semi Trucks.  Canada wanted tariffs on Big Rigs removed. The U.S. said no.
  • The reason is simple.  Big Rigs assembled/built in Canada are falling apart in the USA. Why? Because they are full of cheap Chinese component goods and parts that wear out quickly.  The U.S. wants two things on this issue. Either: (1) Make them in the USA, or (2) stop using cheap Chinese component parts.  The parts that Canada are using are not even available in the USA because we tariff and reject them, so why should we accept them when Canada installs them?  Either quit using Chinese parts (hence, the trade alignment against Chinese imports), or accept a tariff equal to the rate we would apply if the product was coming directly from China.
  • ♦The Stupid French Language thing.  The French language stuff was an ancillary aspect where the Canadian Cultural Police were demanding that all U.S. streaming platforms (YouTube, Netflix etc.) must have search engines using the French language so Canadian users can search for stuff to watch using the French language. A ridiculous issue that was not part of the trade discussion, but Mark Carney saw political value in blowing up the issue.
  • This is really stupid, because when you buy your hardware (TV, Phone, Computer etc.) it asks you what language or country during set up. If you live in France, you put France. The operating system does the rest. We don’t code search engines for French in FRANCE because the OS does it! But Canada was requiring U.S. tech companies (streaming services) to install search features in French [I guess so they can set up the OS in English but get some ancillary feature.] It was a stupid “side paper” in the Intellectual Property sector of the trade discussion.

  • ♦Intellectual Property. Canada was demanding 5% of U.S. tech platform gross revenue (not profit, gross), they call it a tax.  Canada then uses the “tax revenue” to subsidize Canadian media and information platforms that promote the approved government message.  In essence, Canada demands that information providers pay them 5% of their revenue so that Canada can subsidize information providers they approve of.  This is what the Canadian government calls “cultural protection.”  In reality it is state-run media using a financial system that would make Vladimir Putin blush.
  • ♦U.S. Right to Limit Canadian Trade Deals.  This point is exponentially ridiculous for Canada to be upset about because the current USMCA/CUSMA already has that clause.  The U.S (or Mexico) can exit the USMCA if Canada enters into a trade agreement with a “non-market” economy, ie China. [USMCA Sec 32:10]

  • Canada was already in violation of the USMCA/CUSMA when they entered into a trade agreement with China and agreed to import Chinese EVs.  This action triggered the U.S. to become more focused on the stuff Canada was going to import; hence, the renewed emphasis on the clause.

  • WHITE HOUSE
  • The record of Canadian abuse is clear and deliberate:
  • FACT: Canada is joined only by the People’s Republic of China in choosing retaliation over negotiation. Their continued discriminatory treatment of U.S. commerce has burdened American workers, farmers, and businesses.
  • FACT: Canada alone imposed discriminatory 25% tariffs and company-specific quotas on U.S. motor vehicles — measures applied to no other country. As a result, U.S. vehicle exports to Canada crashed 22% over the last year.
  • FACT: Canada banned American wine, beer, and spirits in nearly every province and territory — while other countries have faced no such restrictions. As a result, U.S. alcohol exports to Canada collapsed 81% in a single year.
  • FACT: Canada locks out U.S. dairy with tariff-rate quotas far more restrictive than those given to Europe, plus over-quota tariffs of nearly 300% — rates so extreme they function as a near-total ban and rank among the highest agricultural tariffs in the developed world.

  • FACT: Canada has extracted a persistent average annual goods trade deficit of roughly $50 billion from the U.S. over the last decade — while refusing reciprocal access.
  • FACT: Canada targeted American aerospace manufacturer Gulfstream for years. They effectively prohibited the sale of its G500, G600, G700, and G800 models while shielding its own competitor — until President Trump intervened.
  • FACT: Canada’s protectionist barriers — discriminatory auto quotasalcohol bans, and dairy lockouts — have hammered American companies. This has cost U.S. producers billions in lost sales, forced layoffs, and driven market share to foreign competitors who face none of the same restrictions.
  • FACT: Without the United States, Canada could not survive. Canada sends roughly three-quarters of all its goods exports to America — and the U.S. market is where Canada gets the overwhelming majority of its money and economic oxygen.
  • FACT: Canada’s failed trade policies are driving its own manufacturers south. A recent survey found 42% of Canadian manufacturers have already moved or are planning to move production to the U.S.
  • FACT: Canada is doubling down on tariffs targeting American workers. Canada just announced an additional $27.6 billion in tariffs on American businesses — including a 50% tariff on American steel and aluminum, a 25% tariff on American fish, and a 25% tariff on American tools.
  • FACT: The U.S. economy is approximately 13 times larger than the Canadian economy and home to over eight times as many people. The United States has the clear leverage.

insist policy rates have returned to “normal”. Normal relative to what? With public and private debt burdens at levels unseen in peacetime since the Napoleonic era, the federal funds rate remains restrictive. It raises the cost of capital, heightens refinancing risk and worsens an already precarious fiscal equation. This is not an argument for restoring cheap-money dirigisme.

The old regime relied on demand management, asset-price support and central banks that quietly chose winners and losers. Its legacy was too little productive investment and an economy increasingly dependent on financial engineering.

The alternative should be market-led: productive capital, reliable price signals and a narrower role for monetary technocrats. But supply-side reform does not arrive on command. Rebuilding capacity, investment and productivity takes time, particularly in an economy carrying immense debts. Wall Street’s failure is to miss the forest for the trees.

Where were today’s champions of unmediated price discovery when Ben Bernanke, Janet Yellen and Jerome Powell explicitly suppressed rates that were already exceptionally low?

Quantitative easing, forward guidance and near-zero policy reshaped incentives across housing, corporate finance and capital allocation.

The irony is that many now demanding monetary and fiscal cold turkey cheered the Bernanke strategy when it was adopted.

Their outrage at the difficulty of cleaning up its mess is comical. The bond market, after years of official sedation and financial engineering, plainly needs repair and detoxification. But even detox is managed; no serious physician prescribes a cold-turkey shock to a patient carrying record leverage. The new consensus appears to demand precisely that: let rates clear immediately and accept a financial accident as necessary cleansing.

That is an Austrian-school thought experiment applied to the world’s central funding market. Its preferred destination is sensible. Transparent, scheduled Treasury buybacks should support liquidity, not target yields. Entitlement reform and a lower primary deficit are the durable answer to lower long-term rates. But sequencing matters.

A credible fiscal programme operates over decades; a disorderly repricing can develop in days. “Pay whatever price clears” confuses price discovery with liquidity-driven overshoot. Governments cannot defend prices against fundamentals indefinitely.

But rising yields do not carry a single message: they can reflect inflation and fiscal excess, but also Treasury supply, market liquidity, portfolio reallocation and speculation. A stable long end in a period of stress is not mere investor comfort. For the issuer of the world’s reserve currency, it an important part of national security. Treasury secretary Scott Bessent is right to finesse the transition. Let the complainers complain. The goal is not to muzzle the bond market, but to preserve market functioning while productive and fiscal reforms make market-set rates sustainable.

  • Hackers affiliated with the Chinese military and intelligence services allegedly used a Chinese tech company to try to cover their tracks, burrow into target networks and make their attacks more efficient. Other targets include US military networks, hospitals, power companies and defense contractors, according to the Justice Department.
  • The department tried to stop further damage on Wednesday by seizing three internet domains affiliated with the Chinese company. Federal agencies also plan to release an advisory on the hackers’ techniques so victim companies can kick the intruders out.
  • The full impact of the spying effort was not immediately clear. Any counterintelligence assessments of the damage by US officials are likely to remain private due to security concerns.
  • The announcement highlights the latest in a number of long-running alleged Chinese hacking campaigns against core American infrastructure like power plants and banks.

  • The drone was discovered in Kabelsketal, just to the west of the airport, along with about 50g (1.8oz) of a suspected military explosive on 14 August, 10 days after the unsuccessful sabotage. Leipzig airport is a cargo and military logistics hub used by Nato and Ukraine’s Antonov Airlines for transporting military supplies.
  • The office of the prosecutor general, which is leading the investigation, declined to comment on Tuesday. But the German chancellor, Friedrich Merz, said the government would soon provide information about who it believed was behind the drone attacks.

Peskov did not elaborate on the details of the meeting and U.S. officials have yet to comment on the details as well. With reports that Russia may have been planning upscaled coercive and or direct action, outside of ongoing hybrid campaigns, against Europe abounding, open-source analysis surrounding the meeting has largely centered on the likelihood that the meeting was held to convey a warning to Russian decision-makers.

  • CIA Director John Ratcliffe made an unannounced visit to Moscow on August 25, possibly to warn the Russian leadership in person against a new round of mobilisation and further escalation against Europe and NATO.

The only reason the CIA Director would go directly to Moscow is to deliver something so sensitive that it could not be trusted through normal means. That is my opinion.

Bessent specifically called out Bank Melli, Iran’s largest state-owned bank. He said every one of its foreign branches (in the UAE, Oman, Europe, and elsewhere) “must be shuttered.” Bank Melli was already under U.S. sanctions; this is an escalation demanding host countries close its remaining operations.

OFAC also designated nearly 60 entities, individuals, and vessels on August 24 (traders, shipowners, refineries, and facilitators in Switzerland, France, the UK, UAE, Hong Kong, China, and Singapore). None of those is described as a major bank.

Leading speculationCommentary and analysts have focused on banks that handle Iranian oil payments, especially in China (which buys the large majority of Iran’s oil exports). The name mentioned most often is Bank of Kunlun, a smaller Chinese bank already cut off from the U.S. dollar system in 2012 for facilitating Iranian transactions. Some expect further action against it or its parent. Larger Chinese state banks have so far been spared.

all along! PURGE THEM FROM THE ROLLS. This is long overdue.

The United States Capitol Police (USCP) seized a guillotine, which was spotted in the bed of a pickup truck along the 100 block of East Capitol Street.

Just after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, USCP officers noticed the pickup truck, which was illegally parked.

The suspect 35-year-old Philan-Tam-Duy Le of Julian, CA, was arrested for Carrying a Dangerous Weapon for being in possession of the guillotine.

The suspect drove here from California. USCP investigators are going through the suspect’s background to learn more about why he came to Washington, DC.

The corresponding D.C. statute they typically use for this offense is D.C. Code § 22-4504(a), which makes it unlawful to carry (openly or concealed) “any deadly or dangerous weapon” in the District outside one’s home or place of business. A first offense away from those locations is a felony punishable by up to 5 years.

A dangerous weapon under D.C. law is an object likely to produce death or great bodily injury by the use made of it. Objects that can have other uses (tools, props, furniture) are not automatically illegal to possess; prosecutors generally must show the person intended to use it as a weapon, based on design, circumstances, conduct, time, and place. A large, assembled execution device parked next to the Capitol and Supreme Court after a cross-country drive is what police treated as meeting that standard. Whether a court agrees is a separate question that would be decided later.Because the truck was on the 100 block of East Capitol Street—immediately adjacent to Capitol Grounds and the Supreme Court—federal Capitol Grounds rules can also apply. 40 U.S.C. § 5104 (and the parallel D.C. provision in § 10-503.16) prohibit carrying or having readily accessible a dangerous weapon on United States Capitol Grounds except as authorized. Violation of that provision is a felony.

BREAKING: Obama Judge Indira Talwani Forced to Lift Nationwide Injunction Blocking Trump’s Mail-In Ballot Safeguards After Supreme Court Rebuke

  • Obama-appointed U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani, the same Boston activist who spent the last two months trying to kill ’s mail-in ballot security order, has now been forced to lift her nationwide injunction.
  • The Justice Department asked her to reconsider after the Supreme Court slapped down her other block on Monday.
  • On Wednesday she folded. In a nine-page order, Talwani conceded that, after Trump v. California, the League of Women Voters plaintiffs are “not likely to prevail as to ripeness” unless they rewrite their complaint now that the Postal Service has issued a final rule.
  • She didn’t do it happily. Reporting around the order makes clear the Supreme Court’s decision “compelled” her to toss the freeze even as she kept smearing the president’s election-integrity directive as likely to unleash “chaos.”
  • Today those injunctions are down.

.

The final USPS rule, “Ballot Mail for Federal Elections,” is now published. States that want the Postal Service to carry their federal mail ballots must use approved envelope standards and feed the Federal Ballot Mail Portal:

  • Name of the person receiving the ballot
  • Address
  • Unique barcode on the outbound envelope
  • Unique barcode on the return envelope
  • Originating state

Ballots that don’t meet the standard can be rejected and sent back to election officials for correction. USPS has said the point is tracking, fraud reduction, and getting the right ballot to the right eligible voter.

If a state refuses to play ball, it does not get to use the United States mail as an unaccountable ballot pipeline. That is the part that sent the League of Women Voters, the ACLU, and two dozen Democrat attorneys general into orbit.

  • The elections at the federal level have all been illegally conducted and therefore, those illegal election results for those offices could not be legally certified. I say again: Trump has NEVER won a legally held election for a federal office.
  • NOBODY HAS.
  • NOBODY as in N-O-B-O-D-Y.
  • Obama.
  • Clinton.
  • Both Bushes. Reagan, Carter, Nixon…none of ’em. Since there’s never been a legally conducted election followed by legally certified election results in our lifetimes, every single President has been illegitimate. Every Congress has been illegitimate.
  • The federal agencies and the federal courts are chock-full of people who were not legally appointed/nominated/confirmed.
  • It is a literal shadow government in every sense of the word. And when Trump and team of military patriots moved to BREAK THE CYCLE in 2016 by literally BEATING THEIR CHEAT FOR HILLARY CLINTON, the people who constructed this vile fake federal election system had nowhere to go complain about it. To whom do you complain about someone who muscled his way and took away your rigged election for your chosen candidate?
  • You cannot complain too loudly about it, or the entire HOUSE OF CARDS you’ve built on a foundation of fake federal elections for the past 65+ years comes a-tumblin’ down.
  • You’d end up exposing yourselves, not just the Team Patriot that took your rigged Hillary Clinton fake election from you and put ‘the wrong guy’ in there instead.
  • Welcome to the Silent War.
  • Its about to get loud.
