California has eviscerated its trucking industry by essentially outlawing owner-operators (that the ports largely relied on), refusing to allow trucks more than 10 years old to be registered, and mandating electric trucks in the not-too-distant future (that don’t exist) so that fleet operators aren’t shouldering the expense to update their fleets.
