- Real estate has traditionally been regarded as a safe and lucrative investment. However, according to a new Gallup poll, economic uncertainties, sky-high property prices, maintenance costs, and lingering fallout from COVID have put a dent in its shiny reputation.
- The new poll shows that 35% of Americans name real estate as the best long-term investment when given options including bonds, savings accounts or CDs, stocks or mutual funds, and gold. That’s quite a decline from last year’s record high of 45%.
- According to the aforementioned Gallup poll, 26% of Americans now say gold is the best long-term investment. That is a big jump from 2022, surpassing stocks to claim the second position in the hierarchy of preferred investments.
- With U.S. stock indexes failing to show significant progress over the past year, the number of Americans who view stocks or mutual funds as the best investment has decreased. Currently, only 18% of respondents consider stocks or mutual funds as the top choice, compared with 24% in 2022. The current preference for stocks falls on the lower end of the range of 17%–27% observed since 2011, highlighting a declining faith in the stock market.

- House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) suggested that former President Barack Obama knew of the Biden family’s foreign deals with adversaries of the United States.
- Comer also believes Obama’s knowledge of the family’s business informed his opposition to Joe Biden’s 2020 candidacy.
- “So, I think that’s why Obama didn’t want Joe Biden to run for president. I think they knew about this,” Comer said about the business. “And remember, a lot of these coverups would have happened during the Obama administration with Obama appointees in these deep state bureaucracies.”
- Comer said an establishment media journalist should ask Obama if Comer’s hunch is true: “This would be a great question for Obama: Were you aware of what was going on with Joe Biden with respect to foreign policy and some of these ragtag countries around the world?”

Migrants Once Excited By End Of Trump-Era Order Now Frustrated With Biden’s Policies
- Migrants who were once hopeful about the expiration of a Trump-era expulsion order are now frustrated with the Biden administration’s policies, according to The Associated Press.
- Title 42, the Trump-era order, expired May 11, and the Biden administration announced expanded legal measures to mitigate a surge in migrants after that date. Migrants have felt a sense of betrayal over what the Biden administration promised would be access to legal pathways, the AP reported.
- “I can’t go back to my country,” Honduran migrant Teodoso Vargas said, according to the AP. “Fear is why I don’t want to return. If I can just show the proof I have, I believe the U.S. will let me in.”
- After Title 42 ended, Vargas, his pregnant wife and 5-year-old son traveled to the Tijuana border crossing, but feared that presenting their asylum case to U.S. authorities would mean their expulsion to Honduras, according to the AP. The new legal pathways also aren’t working for Vargas, who bares a large scar from being shot nine times during a robbery in Honduras.

State Department Pleads Fifth When Asked About American Detained in Ukraine
- American YouTuber and columnist Gonzalo Lira was arrested in Ukraine at the start of May because he “publicly justified” the Russian invasion, according to a press release by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The statement says that Lira “has the citizenship of one of the countries of Latin America” but omits that he is also California-born U.S. citizen.
- Lira is a resident of Kharkiv, Ukraine and was an outspoken critic of the nation’s President Volodymyr Zelensky. Lira has written financial columns, published in Business Insider and even here at ZeroHedge. His Twitter account is still up, and a brief look reveals that — whether you agree with him or not on all stances — his opinions are largely in line with much of the American right. The SBU claimed to have confiscated “mobile phones and a computer with evidence of illegal activity” from Lira’s apartment but no such evidence was made public.
- Lira has been charged under sections 2 and 3 of Article 436-2 of Ukraine’s criminal code, which was augmented at the start of the invasion to criminalize the “distribution of materials” that justify Russia’s actions in Ukraine going back to 2014. The law specifically outlaws portraying any military dispute “financed by [the] Russian Federation” in Ukraine as an “internal civil conflict,” a law The New York Times and Wired Magazine are in violation of.
- Lira faces up to 13 years in prison if he is convicted of both charges.
- Stil, when asked about whether the Biden State Department was aware of Lira’s arrest and if they are working to get him freed, newly appointed spokesperson Mathew Miller said the department is aware of the matter but went no further:
- Just 48 hours after Senator Lindsey Graham took a trip to Kyiv to visit Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russia’s Interior Ministry issued an arrest warrant for Graham.
- The arrest warrant comes after a viral video of Graham saying “The Russians are dying” and it’s the “best money we’ve ever spent” took over Twitter.
- Dmitry Peskov, who serves as the Kremlin’s spokesperson, was quoted saying “It’s hard to imagine a greater shame for the country than having such senators.”

Kohl’s Is Selling Transgender Themed Clothing For 3 Month Old Babies
- It appears Kohl’s wants to follow in the footsteps of Target and Bud Light.
- To commemorate “Pride Month” Kohl’s has released new LGBTQIA+ themed apparel for adults, children, and even babies.
- The Twitter account End Wokeness made the discovery and tweeted out a photo of a display in Kohl’s that was advertising pride clothing and accessories.
- Included in the display was some trans themed baby clothing that contained a dog with a trans flag and children waving LGBTQ flags on them.

Threats against the LGBTQIA+ community intensifying: Department of Homeland Security
- Anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation has been introduced in recent months.

Threats of violence against the LGBTQIA+ community are on the rise and intensifying, according to a new briefing by the Department of Homeland Security.
The DHS document, distributed to government and law enforcement agencies on May 11, said that domestic violence extremists and people who commit hate crimes have increased threats of violence against the LGBTQIA+ community within the last year.
“These issues include actions linked to drag-themed events, gender-affirming care, and LGBTQIA+ curricula in schools,” DHS said.
DHS said that the issues inspiring threats and calls of violence against the LGBTQIA+ community could lead to a rise of potential attacks against larger targets, such as public spaces and healthcare sites that may be linked to the community.

Gov. Noem Calls For College Board to Prohibit Drag Shows and Remove References to Preferred Pronouns
- South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has called on the state’s Board of Regents to prohibit drag shows on college campuses and order the removal of all references to preferred pronouns in college materials.
- In a letter sent to the board, Noem said that she wants South Dakota to be an example to the nation of what quality higher education should look like.
- “Across the nation, higher education is in a state of crisis,” Noem said in a press release. “For the last several decades, many states have allowed liberal ideologies to poison their universities and colleges. Once a hotbed of ideological diversity, debate, and the pursuit of truth and discovery, many institutions have become one-sided, close-minded, and focused on feelings rather than facts. Professors have discarded reason and logic in favor of subjectivity and relativism. Higher education leaders have rejected universal truth and knowledge and replaced it with ‘individual truth.’”
- Noem continued, “On campuses across the country, students have been taught the importance of diversity and equity and given access to ‘safe spaces’ instead of learning to tolerate the disagreement, discomfort, and dissent that they will experience in the real world. In many cases, students and their parents are not even aware of the damage these ideas have caused.”

Students are also graduating with more debt and lower prospects at obtaining gainful employment. 43% of students who completed a college degree were underemployed after graduation. The Insurrection Act of 1807 is a United States federal law[1] that empowers the President of the United States to deploy U.S. military and federalized National Guard troops within the United States in particular circumstances, such as to suppress civil disorder, insurrection, or rebellion.
The act provides a “statutory exception” to the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which limits the use of military personnel under federal command for law enforcement purposes within the United States.[2][3]
Before invoking the powers under the Act, 10 U.S.C.§ 254 requires the President to first publish a proclamation ordering the insurgents to disperse. As part of the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, these provisions have since been amended.
There are Constitutional exceptions to Posse Comitatus restrictions rooted in the President’s own constitutional authority. Defense Department guidelines describe “homeland defense” as a “constitutional exception” to Posse Comitatus restriction, meaning that measures necessary to guarantee National Security from external threats are not subject to the same limitations.

Amen! I have always questioned with disdain, how many on the left cite racial problems in America. This has always been a melting pot of the world. We have always had people of all nationalities, of all colors, of all religions come to America. We have freedom which many nations do not.
