‘We’ve Got a Great New Deal’: Brexit Treaty Agreed by Boris Johnson and EU

  • Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that a new Brexit deal has been brokered between the UK and the EU.
  • Boris Johnson tweeted out the following
  • “The solution that we found rests on four main elements,” Mr Barnier said. In point one, the Eurocrat said that Northern Ireland will remain part of a “limited” set of EU rules related to goods:

1) Northern Ireland will remain aligned to a limited set of EU rules, notably related to goods. This means that all applicable procedures on goods will take place at the points entry into Northern Ireland and not across the island. For this purpose, UK authorities will be in charge of applying the Union’s customs code in Northern Ireland.

  • Northern Ireland will stay in the UK’s customs territory but also remain an entry point to the EU’s Single Market. According to Mr Barnier:

2) Northern Ireland will remain in the UK’s customs territory. It will therefore beneift from the UK’s future trade policy. But Northern Ireland will also remain an entry point into our Single Market. UK authorities can apply tariffs on products coming from third countries — so long as those goods entering Northern Ireland are not at risk of entering our Single Market. For goods at risk of entering the Single Market, UK authorities will apply the EU’s tariffs.

Farage Says New Deal Is ‘Just Not Brexit’ as DUP Says It Won’t Support It
  • Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has said that the deal agreed between Boris Johnson and the EU is “just not Brexit”,
  • “We’ve taken three-and-a-half years to get to this point. If this was to be agreed, we then enter into years more negotiations for the prize of a free trade agreement which we already know we will not get unless we surrender our territorial fishing waters and will not get unless we stay in regulatory alignment with the European Union.”
  • Mr Farage added that the deal would mean the UK surrendering autonomy on making her own laws on employment regulations and the environment, as well as signing up the country to foreign policy and military policy commitments.
  • “I would genuinely believe that a clean break and being able to be competitive is the absolute key to our future economic success. We cannot do that with this new treaty. We will never be able to properly break free of the EU if we sign up to this,”

Nancy Pelosi’s USMCA Strategy for 2020 is Contingent Upon the Canadian Election…

  • Trudeau’s government agreed not to call the USMCA up for a vote in the Canadian parliament.
  • Speaker Pelosi is waiting to see if Trudeau can win re-election.  If Canada re-elects Trudeau on October 21st, Pelosi will announce the labor provisions are not strong enough within the USMCA deal; the U.S. workers are not protected enough, and she is tabling any vote.
  • Speaker Pelosi will then wait until after the 2020 election. 
  • Ratification of the USMCA would be a boost for the U.S, and North American, economy.  More growth in the economy is politically adverse to her interests.  Part of the 2020 Democrat strategy is to stall the U.S. economy, stoke a recession narrative, and hopefully weaken President Trump’s re-election bid.  That’s the plan.
  • For Canada’s part of the scheme, Justin Trudeau -if successfully reelected- will announce that Canada is waiting for the U.S to work out the USMCA labor disagreements.
  • However, if Trudeau loses the election then Pelosi loses her partner in the plan.  As a consequence Canadian ratification of the USMCA will be certain, and it will be outside the control of U.S. Democrats…

  • The timing of the Italy trip, Powell’s motion, and her assertion that the government only recently came into possession of Mifsud’s two smartphones, all suggest Barr and Durham returned stateside with the evidence—something a serious investigation into potential Russia collusion back in 2016 would have already looked at.
  • It would be an impossibility for our government to cordially obtain Mifsud’s smartphones if he were truly a Russian agent. If he were, he’d not hand over his smartphones to the United States or allow the Italian government to do so.
  • Powell’s revelation that the government has Mifsud’s two Blackberries goes deeper, too: It connects to the shocker Powell shared in a previous court filing—that Mifsud attended the Russia Today dinner in Moscow on December 17, 2015, where Flynn was photographed with Vladimir Putin. That dinner marks a second connection between Trump campaign folks and Mifsud, with Papadopoulos as the other.
  • Federal prosecutors have not said no to providing Mifsud’s smartphone data, at least not yet. Instead, in response to Powell’s request for the data, the government told her that “if we determine that they contain information that is discoverable or that is relevant to sentencing, we will produce them to you.”
  • This response proves intriguing and triply so. First, the prosecutors speak of deciding, which suggests that they have not yet reviewed the smartphones. That raises an interesting possibility—that Barr and Durham are controlling the investigation of the investigators and they had yet to see the smartphones or data. Yet Powell knew about the phones, suggesting she has a well-placed source sympathetic to Flynn’s plight,

Trump Administration To Reinstate Aid To Central American Countries That Signed Asylum Deals

  •   Trump announced the White House will, once again, deliver aid to several Central American countries after their governments entered into asylum agreements with the U.S.
  • The decision to provide “targeted assistance” to these countries is, at least somewhat, a reversal from the president’s decision earlier in 2019 to withhold hundreds of millions in economic aid to Central America — punishment against their governments for doing “nothing” to fix the immigration crisis.

During a press conference a reporter asked Trump about Syria, saying Lidnsey doesn’t want to leave, President Trump said that Lindsey Graham would like to stay in the Middle East for the next 1,000 years with thousands of soldiers and fighting other people’s wars. I want to get out of the Middle East. I think Lindsey should focus right not on Judiciary. He ought to find out with what happened to Comey, with what happened to McCabe, with Lisa, what happened with Peter Strzok, what happened with President Obama, what happened with Brennan. That’s what Lindsey ought to focus on. That’s what the people of South Carolina want him to focus on. The people of South Carolina don’t want to get us in a war with Turkey, a NATO member, or Syria. Let them fight their own wars.

  • Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) – a key figure in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump – has died of “health complications” at 68.
  • Cummings died at Johns Hopkins Hospital at 2:45 a.m. Thursday morning from “complications concerning longstanding health challenges,” his office said.
