  • President Emmanuel Macron’s government narrowly survived a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly on Monday, after bypassing the lower house to push through a deeply unpopular change to the pension system.\
  • Some 278 MPs voted in favour of a tripartisan, no-confidence motion tabled by a centrist party and others, just nine short of the 287 needed for it to succeed.
  • A successful no-confidence vote would have sunk the government and killed the legislation, which is set to raise the retirement age by two years to 64.
  • The outcome will be a relief to Macron, but he still faces significant headwinds.
  • For one thing, the centrist president’s failure to find enough support in parliament to put his pension reform to a vote has undermined his reformist agenda and weakened his leadership.

Not ESG-Friendly: Insurers Junk Entire EVs For Minor Accidents

  • It’s a surprise that Reuters has published an article revealing that the electric vehicle revolution might not be as environmentally friendly as automakers claim. Furthermore, a scratched or slightly damaged battery pack could lead insurance companies to scrap the entire car.

“We’re buying electric cars for sustainability reasons,” Matthew Avery, research director at automotive risk intelligence company Thatcham Research, said. 

Avery pointed out, “an EV isn’t very sustainable if you’ve got to throw the battery away after a minor collision.” 

  • A Tesla battery pack costs tens of thousands of dollars and represents a large percentage of the vehicle’s price tag. Insurance companies have found that it’s uneconomical to replace battery packs if damaged.
  • Many automotive manufacturers, including Tesla, have made battery packs a structural part of the car to reduce cost products but have shifted costs to consumers and insurers when batteries need to be replaced.
  • Unless carmakers produce more easily repairable battery packs, there will be a growing number of low-mileage EVs scrapped after collisions.
  • “The number of cases is going to increase, so the handling of batteries is a crucial point,” said Christoph Lauterwasser, managing director of the Allianz Center for Technology, a research institute owned by Allianz. 
  • According to Lauterwasser, the production of EV batteries results in significantly higher CO2 emissions compared to conventional fossil-fuel models. Therefore, if these batteries are discarded with low mileage, it undermines the goal of promoting environmentally-friendly practices.
  • “If you throw away the vehicle at an early stage, you’ve lost pretty much all advantage in terms of CO2 emissions,” he said.
  • Sandy Munro, head of Michigan-based Munro & Associates, which analyzes vehicles and advises automakers on how to improve them, said the Model Y battery pack has “zero repairability.”

  • There is no indication where that figure came from, but prior low figures have been based on a highly dubious method of counting unrealized gains as income — a highly controversial proposal for a new massive tax increase.
  •  What is the real agenda 
  • Democrats now are seeking to tax “unrealized gains,” even though an asset has not been sold and could go down in value.  it is   unconstitutional.
  • The Biden White House insists this is merely “a prepayment of tax obligations these households will owe when they later realize their gains. This approach means that the very wealthiest Americans pay taxes as they go, just like everyone else, and eliminates the inefficient sheltering of income for decades or generations.” Framing the tax of assets as a pre-payment still leaves it a tax on current wealth rather than income.
  • There is also the daunting logistical task of valuation and why some assets may be counted over other assets.
  • The same is true about a home. A family house likely will grow in value, and that value can be captured as a property tax by states. Yet the federal government cannot also take that value as a “prepayment of tax obligations” on an asset that might go down in value or not be sold for decades.
  • The targeting of billionaires is a brilliant way to get the public to accept a new type of tax. Once allowed, though, it can then be used on any asset and against any tax bracket to tax “unrealized gains.”

CHASE bank does an inventory of it’s precious metals find out they have bags of stone

The London Metal Exchange revealed a surprising mix-up last week at a warehouse in the Dutch port city of Rotterdam.

An operator for the warehouse weighed bags that were thought to contain 54 metric tons of nickel, only to find that they were filled with stones, according to The Wall Street Journal.

It appears that JPMorgan Chase is the unlucky owner of those bags, the Journal said on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Had they contained nickel, the bags would have been worth $1.3 million at current prices, representing 0.14% of nickel inventories, Bloomberg reported. While that means the mix-up will have a relatively minor impact on metal markets, it does call the security of the LME’s contracts into question. “In an industry riddled with scandals, the LME’s contracts are viewed as unquestionably safe,” Bloomberg said.

AI develops cancer treatment in 30 days, predicts survival rate 

  • Artificial intelligence has developed a treatment for cancer in just 30 days and can predict a patient’s survival rate.
  • In a new study published in the journal Chemical Science, researchers at the University of Toronto along with Insilico Medicine developed a potential treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with an AI drug discovery platform called Pharma.AI.
  • HCC is the most common type of liver cancer and occurs when a tumor grows on the liver, according to Cleveland Clinic.
  • Researchers applied AlphaFold, an AI-powered protein structure database, to Pharma.AI to uncover a novel target — a previously unknown treatment pathway — for cancer and developed a “novel hit molecule” that could bind to that target without aid.
  • The creation of the potential drug was accomplished in just 30 days from the selection of the target and after synthesizing just seven compounds.
  • After a second round of generating compounds, they discovered a more potent hit molecule — but any potential drug would need to go through clinical trials before widespread use.
  • A separate study published in the journal JAMA Network Open showed an AI system invented by scientists at the University of British Columbia and BC Cancer was able to predict cancer patient survival rates using doctors’ notes.

Philadelphia Pays Over $9 Million to Rioters for Injuries Incurred in 2020 George Floyd BLM Riots

  • In May of 2020, the country’s inner cities were destroyed by BLM and Antifa rioters across the country.  In response, major US companies were extorted and coerced to pay millions to BLM.

Eight Startling and Uncomfortable Ways the Democrat Party Emulates the Nazi Party 

  • First, racial and ethnic division was a central component of Nazi political strategy and philosophy.  The Nazi Party was the most racially obsessed political party in human history.  Today’s Democrat party is second only to the Nazi Party in their racial obsession.   Every piece of legislation, every accusation against their opponents, every aspect of American society, even weather and climate are framed in imaginary racism.
  • Second, In the 1920’s and early 1930’s the Nazi Party relied on street riots, property damage and gratuitous violence utilizing their militant cadre, the Sturmabteilung (SA), to project power through intimidation while blaming others for the violence.  Their ability to terrorize the citizenry and national political leadership played a major role in their ascendance to power as they promised peace and impartial justice if elected.   
  • The Democrat party revealed in the summer of 2020 that they, too, have the wherewithal and inclination to acquiesce to street riots, property damage and gratuitous violence utilizing their militant cadre, Antifa and Black Lives Matter, to project power through intimidation while blaming white supremacy and police brutality for the violence.
  • Third, in January 1933, Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany.  Within four weeks a mysterious, and in all likelihood staged, fire broke out in the Reichstag (Congress) Building which the Nazis blamed on Communist agitators as their opening salvo in a violent coup.  Using this pretext, the Nazis rushed to arrest and harshly prosecute selected elements of their political adversaries, thus intimidating the balance.  They also forced through the Reichstag the Enabling Act of 1933 in March of the same year.   This law embedded the Nazis as the sole dominant political party and ensured that only the Nazis could win future elections.
  • The Democrat party seized upon in all likelihood a setup disturbance at the Capital on January 6, 2021 to proclaim that it was an “armed insurrection” and the opening salvo in a violent coup attempt by Trump, his supporters and white supremacists.  Using this pretext, the Democrats rushed to arrest and harshly prosecute those in attendance in order to intimidate their political enemies.   In the footsteps of the Nazi Party, the Democrats immediately pushed to pass the For The People Act, which would have overturned virtually all existing voter laws, embedded the Democrats as the sole dominant political party and ensured that only the Democrats could win future elections.
  • Fifth, the Nazi Party was fixated on censorship and eliminating any cultural institution, publication or speech that did not fully support them.  Further, per socialist dogma, they were determined to destroy the family structure, replacing it with the state.   The Nazis were notorious for book-burning rituals to intimidate and send the message that they would shut down anyone and anything that did not align with their ideology.  Once in control of the national levers of powers, they did so with impunity particularly in the education sector whose revised primary purpose was to brainwash the youth.
  • The Democrat Party is figuratively burning books as it uses social media mobs as the vehicle to send the message that they will shut down anyone or anything that does not align with their ideology.  Further, they, in league with the teachers’ unions, are hellbent on programming America’s youth and destroying the family structure replacing it with the state.
  • Sixth, the Nazis perfected the art of indoctrinating the citizenry through propaganda and “fake news.”  Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Minister of Propaganda, is credited with saying: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

    Did AI also conclude that cancer is mostly a dietary problem? No. It only knows what it is told? Garbage in, garbage out – only at a faster rate. Isn’t technology wonderful? Money well spent.

    If you are worried about illegal aliens in USA of military age used as an army they have to be armed and funded. I direct you to the arms left in Afghanistan and diverted Ukraine, COVID Recovery and Build Back Better funds.
