Mayor Eric Adams (D) responded to a question on why people keep moving from New York to Florida if Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is as bad as Adams claims by stating that moving to Florida is “extremely appealing and attractive” when you look at New York’s taxes and that while high taxes are a “real” issue, “it’s difficult” given New York City’s population and the “obligations” that come with having people coming “from distant shores” to the city.

New Yorkers living in the suburbs outside of New York City say Gov. Kathy Hochul’s (D) zoning plan to override local laws would effectively demolish their communities, forcing them to accept hundreds of thousands of new housing units.
After failing to impose the plan last year, Hochul is once again attempting to strip the state’s suburban communities of their zoning autonomy with a plan that would force suburbs to build a percentage of new housing and if they do not comply, the state will take control of their local land use laws.
In an op-ed, Bronxville Mayor Mary Marvin writes that her village of just 6,600 residents would be required by the Hochul plan to build 75 new housing units by the end of 2027. Marvin suggests that the plan would force Bronxville to accept more than 10,000 housing units in the village which is far beyond the community’s existing 2,600 housing units.

While National Security spokesman John Kirby claimed not to have seen “any signs” of corruption in Ukraine, Comer pointed out these claims “came one day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky fired several top Ukrainian officials amid a corruption scandal.” Providing US taxpayer funds in a war zone “comes with an inherent risk of fraud, waste, and abuse,” Comer wrote, noting that “unrealistic timelines and expectations that prioritize spending quickly lead to increased corruption.”
DoD, State and USAID must now produice all documents related to US aid to Ukraine by March 8, 2023. The letter was signed by republican Representatives including Jim Jordan, Nancy Mace, Andy Biggs, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert and Anna Paulina Luna.
The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is conducting oversight of the federal government’s administration of U.S. taxpayer-funded assistance to Ukraine. Since Russia invaded Ukraine nearly a year ago, Congress has provided more than $113 billion for security, humanitarian, economic, and governance assistance. It is critical that government agencies administering these funds ensure they are used for their intended purposes to prevent and reduce the risk of waste, fraud, and abuse. The Committee seeks documents and information to understand how the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of State (State), and the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) are conducting oversight of these funds.
On January 25, 2023, U.S. National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby claimed, “We have not seen any signs that our budgetary assistance has fallen prey to any kind of corruption in Ukraine,” and that all direct budgetary assistance, “goes through the World Bank.” Mr. Kirby continued, “I would go so far as to say the same on the security assistance side as well.” These claims came one day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky fired several top Ukrainian officials amid a corruption scandal. Ukrainian government officials allegedly engaged in bribery, used government vehicles for personal use, and purchased inflated food supplies for Ukrainian forces. In response, President Zelensky named a new Minister of Defense. Based on Mr. Kirby’s remarks, however, the U.S. National Security Council appears unaware of this corruption scandal, heightening concerns that U.S. agencies are not conducting oversight of taxpayer assistance to Ukraine.
Providing security and humanitarian assistance for warfighting and reconstruction purposes comes with an inherent risk of fraud, waste, and abuse. The United States must identify these risks and develop oversight mechanisms to mitigate them. We learned from efforts in Afghanistan that the World Bank does not always have effective monitoring and accounting of funds, and often lacks transparency. We also learned that unrealistic timelines and expectations that prioritize spending quickly lead to increased corruption and reduced effectiveness of programs. As the United States continues to filter assistance through multilateral organizations with pressure to spend funds quickly, we must ensure proper protections are in place to prevent the misuse of funds.
To assist the Committee’s investigation into what is being done to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer funded assistance to Ukraine, please provide the following documents and information, covering the period February 24, 2022, to the present, as soon as possible, but no later than, March 8, 2023:
1. All documents and communications regarding strategies for end-use monitoring of weapons, equipment, direct budgeting assistance, and any other form of economic or security assistance for the Ukrainian people;
All documents and communications regarding any anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine, including but not limited to any documents and communications detailing plans to condition assistance on Ukraine’s anti-corruption efforts and how the U.S. is assisting Ukraine in developing an anti-corruption strategy;

We are now able to report that, based on a photo a source tells us is the derailed train, the axles appear to be on fire as early as 8:13pm, approximately 43 minutes before the NTSB reported the train derailed.
A photo taken from a surveillance camera overlooking the tracks shows an obvious glow coming from around the axle area of the train. The video we posted earlier appears to show a fire much further up the rail car than the initial picture as if the failure had worsened suggesting the picture was before the CCTV video. That video was filmed at Butech Bliss in Salem, OH, about 20 miles from the site of the derailment.
NTSB investigators have identified and examined the rail car that initiated the derailment. Surveillance video from a residence showed what appears to be a wheel bearing in the final stage of overheat failure moments before the derailment. The wheelset from the suspected railcar has been collected as evidence for metallurgical examination. The suspected overheated wheel bearing has been collected and will be examined by engineers from the NTSB Materials Laboratory in Washington, D.C.
This raises serious questions about existing checks for catastrophic failures like this. There are reportedly “hot box detectors” placed periodically along the rails to check temperatures of critical components, including wheels and axles.
How long were the axles on fire in their entirety? Was the sensor properly functioning? If so, when was the crew alerted to this malfunction and what actions were taken? Are the frequency of the detectors an appropriate distance apart if they failed to detect a malfunction of this magnitude?
Transportation Secretary Buttigieg refused to offer immediate assistance, FEMA refused for two weeks to offer relief, and the Biden administration did not mention the disaster until they were asked about the disaster days after the toxic chemical mushroom cloud explosion.

U.S. consumer credit card debt has jumped to nearly $1 trillion, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York said on Thursday.
Credit card balances increased more than $60 billion over the three months ending in December, lifting the total amount of U.S. credit card debt to an all-time high of $986 billion, the report found.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D)’s projected budget deficit of $22.5 billion may have been too low by $7 billion, according to a report last week by the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO).
Newsom told Californians last month to expect a $22.5 billion deficit in the coming fiscal year — after a surplus of $100 billion, driven in part by federal grants for coronavirus relief spending.
Now, the LAO says, the deficit may be even worse. In a new report, it states (emphasis added):
Due to a deteriorating revenue picture relative to expectations from June 2022, both our office and the administration anticipate the state faces a budget problem in 2023‑24. Although the Governor’s budget revenue estimates are reasonable, they are likely a bit too high. In particular, using recent revenue collections and economic data, we estimate there is a two‑in‑three chance that state revenues will be lower than the Governor’s budget estimates for 2022‑23 and 2023‑24. Our best estimate is that revenues for these two years will be roughly $10 billion lower—implying a larger budget problem by about $7 billion.

Such a CBDC would also conceivably be programmable, meaning that its central controller could be able to lock people’s spending only to certain items, objects or services.
Kyocera, one of the largest chip component manufacturers in the world, believes China can no longer play its role as the global factory amid heavy sanctions from the United States, and the company has begun shifting production to other places, including Japan.
Back in 2019, when the Trump administration had imposed tariffs on China, Kyocera had moved the manufacturing of copiers for the U.S. market from China to Vietnam.
Moving Production Out of China
Many companies have moved production out of China or plan to do so. In April last year, for example, Apple began manufacturing its iPhone 13 in India at a site owned by Foxconn, its Taiwanese contract manufacturer. In addition, Apple is sending the production of iPads and AirPods to Vietnam.
Samsung shifted production to Vietnam back in 2019. The company has also decided to manufacture its flagship Galaxy S23 smartphones in India for local sale. Amazon has shut down its Kindle facility in China and now produces FireTV devices in India.
Footwear brand Dr. Martens has been reducing its manufacturing dependence on China. Since 2018, the company has shifted 55 percent of total production out of the nation.

Judy Monro-Leighton, one of three women who accused now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, was found to have lied during a congressional investigation and is now being charged with making materially false statements and obstruction.
According to The Beltway Report, a letter written by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, made a criminal referral against Monro-Leighton, who admitted that she “just wanted to get attention.”
She also admitted that an anonymous letter she sent to then-Sen. Kamala Harris describing a graphic sexual assault by Kavanaugh and a friend was not written by her, despite her original claim of being “Jane Doe from Oceanside, California.”
“No, no, no. I did that as a way to grab attention,” Munro-Leighton explained when questioned by investigators of the Committee on the Judiciary. “I am not Jane Doe… but I did read Jane Doe’s letter. I read the transcript of the call to your committee… I saw it online. It was news.”
In her statements, she also clarified that she never met Judge Kavanaugh.
“In short, during the Committee’s time-sensitive investigation of allegations against Judge Kavanaugh, Ms. Munro-Leighton submitted a fabricated allegation, which diverted Committee resources,” Grassley’s letter reads. “When questioned by Committee investigators she admitted it was false, a ‘ploy’ and a ‘tactic.’”

Building 9212 is listed on the Department of Energy website as a uranium processing building, built in 1945. The building serves “as one of the primary chemical processing and enriched uranium production facilities at Y-12,” the website states. It is set to be replaced by the end of 2025.
Y-12 confirmed that the material involved in the fire was a compound of uranium, the element workers in Building 9212 handle. Those compounds can come in metallic forms or solution forms, officials said.

The city of Seattle has agreed to pay $3,650,000 in damages to business owners who brought suit after the deadly 2020 Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) damaged their business, property, and violated their constitutional rights. The group had originally been seeking $2.9 million.The city has until March 3 to pay the sum as part of a settlement revealed last week. According to court filings regarding the settlement, $600,000 will go toward attorney fees for the more than a dozen plaintiffs.

Fourth-quarter consumer credit card balances last year climbed $61 billion, or 6.6%, over the prior quarter to $986 billion, surpassing a pre-pandemic high of $927 billion, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Center for Microeconomic Data. That $61 billion increase was the largest gain since the Fed began recording the data in 1999.
Compared to December of 2021, the credit card balances at the end of last year were $130 billion higher, which was the largest annual growth in such balances, the Fed said. Meanwhile, credit card debt delinquencies of 90 days or more were also on the rise, increasing to 4.01% in Q4 2022, up from 3.2% in the year-earlier quarter, according to the Fed.
Investors now expect the major central banks to raise rates much more than they were just at the start of this month.
The Federal Reserve may raise interest rates as high as 6%, the European Central Bank to 4% and the Bank of England to possibly 5% should the global economy continue to be resilient and inflation run rife.

Court documents show Alec Baldwin and Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed will only be charged with involuntary manslaughter without a firearm enhancement charge. The enhancement carried a maximum five-year prison sentence, according to multiple reports.
Attorneys for both Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed had argued the firearm enhancement was based on a New Mexico law that only went into effect after the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021.
As a result, the Santa Fe District Attorney downgraded the charges against them.

A government cloud email server was connected to the internet without a password
the U.S. Department of Defense secured an exposed server on Monday that was spilling internal U.S. military emails to the open internet for the past two weeks.
The exposed server was hosted on Microsoft’s Azure government cloud for Department of Defense customers, which uses servers that are physically separated from other commercial customers and as such can be used to share sensitive but unclassified government data. The exposed server was part of an internal mailbox system storing about three terabytes of internal military emails, many pertaining to U.S. Special Operations Command, or USSOCOM, the U.S. military unit tasked with conducting special military operations.
But a misconfiguration left the server without a password, allowing anyone on the internet access to the sensitive mailbox data inside using only a web browser, just by knowing its IP address.
Vladimir Putin has blamed the West for starting the war in Ukraine and claimed Russia responded with force “in order to stop it”.
In a speech describing his aims as the first anniversary of the conflict nears, the Russian president said Ukraine was in talks with the West about weapons before Russia invaded its neighbour on 24 February last year.
Mr Putin also announced that Russia was suspending its participation in a key nuclear treaty with the US which limits the two sides’ strategic nuclear arsenals.

Over the last few weeks, 18-wheelers pulled up again and again to the City of New York’s huge supply warehouse in Queens to pick up dozens of unopened cartons containing what, during the depths of the pandemic, City Hall proclaimed would be lifesaving miracle devices known as “bridge vents.”
As the COVID pandemic overtook New York City in April 2020, then-Mayor Bill de Blasio commissioned 3,000 of the breathing devices as back-ups for the ventilators that kept sick patients alive, helping fund their manufacture even though they had never been tested in a New York City hospital setting.
Taxpayers paid $12 million for the devices. The city Economic Development Corporation awarded Spiro Wave LLC, the group that built the devices, $100,000 in “seed money” and secured the rights to buy 70% of whatever was produced going forward.
De Blasio’s pandemic medical miracle has turned into a bargain-basement giveaway under current Mayor Eric Adams — with the bridge vents unloaded, unused, in an auction that ended Jan. 24, described in sale records as “non-functioning medical equipment sold as scrap metal.”
A junk dealer from Long Island picked up the entire $12 million, 500,000-pound kit and kaboodle — for only $24,600. It took the dealer 28 truckloads to cart the stuff away, auction records state.
An investigation by THE CITY has determined that since last summer, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) has systematically tried to auction off millions of dollars worth of COVID-related personal protective equipment (PPE) and medical supplies — gowns, face shields, hand sanitizer, KN95 masks, N95 masks — that the department decided are no longer needed.
Contrary to claims made by the Biden regime and the media, the decline in the number of young people receiving a COVID-19 booster compared to those of older ages has not been linked to a surge in hospitalizations.
Recently released information from three major healthcare systems, two in New York and one in Israel, indicated that a lack of COVID-19 booster doses for younger people are not becoming severely ill and did not increase hospitalizations.

More than 7-in-10 criminal suspects released from jail without bail go on to be rearrested for allegedly committing more crimes, a new study reveals.
Yolo County, California, in particular, kept the $0 bail policy in place until June 2021 when the county’s Superior Court enacted a new bail schedule.
The Yolo County District Attorney’s Office, in analyzing release and arrest data during the period where the $0 bail policy was enforced, finds that more than 70 percent of those who were released without bail went on to be arrested for additional crimes.
The analysis also compared recidivism rates over an 18-month period, finding that 78 percent of suspects released without bail were found to be rearrested for crimes while only 46 percent of those who paid bail were rearrested.

Not only did Schiff misrepresent the substance of the text message and its source, he even doctored original text messages, which were obtained and reviewed by The Federalist in their entirety.
“I want to display just a few of the message[s] he received from people in Congress,” Schiff said, referring to Meadows. “The committee is not naming these lawmakers at this time as our investigation is ongoing. If we could cue the first graphic.”
The following graphic, purportedly of the text message between a member of Congress and Meadows, then appeared on screen at Schiff’s direction:
“This one reads, ‘On January 6, 2021, Vice President Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, should call out all electoral votes that he believes are unconstitutional as no electoral votes at all,’” Schiff continued. “You can see why this is so critical to ask Mr. Meadows about. About a lawmaker suggesting that the former vice president simply throw out votes that he unilaterally deems unconstitutional in order to overturn a presidential election and subvert the will of the American people.”
Not only did Schiff lie about the substance of the text message and its source, he even doctored the message and graphic that he displayed on screen during his statement. The full text message, which was forwarded to Meadows from Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, on the evening of Monday, Jan. 5, was significantly longer than what Schiff read and put on screen, but Schiff erased significant portions of the text and added punctuation where there was none to give the impression that Jordan himself was tersely directing Meadows to give orders to Pence on how to handle the electoral vote certification.
The original text was written by Washington attorney and former Department of Defense Inspector General Joseph Schmitz and included an attachment of a four-page draft Word document drafted by Schmitz that detailed Schmitz’s legal reasoning for suggesting that Pence had the constitutional authority to object to the certification of electoral votes submitted by a handful of states. The piece that Schmitz had sent to Jordan was published at the website everylegal.vote the next day and even included the same “DISCUSSION DRAFT” heading and timestamp on the document that Schmitz sent to Jordan.
Newly released bodycam footage obtained due to the court trial of Jan. 6 defendant William Pope of Topeka, Kansas shows uniformed officers discussing how to spot “non-uniform” agents. In addition, the released videos show that undercover officers climbed barricades and urged protesters to go toward the Capitol Building. MPD bicycle officers stopped four armed men in plainclothes that turned out to be law enforcement agents. Another video shows a man walking behind Ashli Babbitt, the woman fatally slain by Capitol Police officer Michael Byrd, and predicted that “someone will get shot.” There is also a new wrinkle in the activities of Ray Epps and Ryan Samsel on the day of the Capitol Riots.

According to Pope’s motion, three undercover MPD officers approached the northwest corner of the Capitol grounds at about 1:40 p.m. on Jan. 6. Officer 1, who filmed the event, joined in with the crowd and chanted, “Drain the swamp!”
After a group of men ran past the officers toward the Capitol, Officer 2 — who was wearing a Trump beanie — commented, “Those guys are getting shot,” according to the motion.
Then Officer 1 joined in with the crowd chanting, “Whose house? Our house!”
Pope also describes how Officer 1 climbed over a barricade: “Officer 1 began yelling at people in front of him to ‘Go, go, go!’ As they climbed bicycle racks, Officer 1 yelled for the crowd to ‘help him up, help him up!’ followed by ‘push him up, push him up!’”
“Needing help to get up, Officer 1 asked a nearby man to give him a boost,” the motion continues. “The man gives Officer 1 a lift up, and Officer 1 says ‘Thanks, bro.’”
As the motion adds, Officer 1 pushed protesters in front of him to advance on the Capitol, shouting, “C’mon, c’mon, c’mon, let’s go!”

When additional oil, coal and natural gas development is blocked as an outcome of policy, energy prices jump massively. We are seeing 2022/2023 price increases in electricity, home heating, fuel, gasoline, natural gas and other total energy price outcomes in the 60%+ range.
As a direct outcome of energy policy, all of the downstream products and services have massive upward supply side price pressure. When the input prices are driving upward of 60%, the downstream prices increase accordingly. Farming costs, fertilizer, feeding, transportation costs, food at retail and wholesale, and just about every petroleum-based product, which is almost everything, increases in price accordingly.
If supply side energy price increases are pushing +60%, and the Fed will only accept a 2% inflation output result, the only method of achieving the desired result is to shrink energy demand. Trump has summoned politicians, donors, Trumpsters, MAGA nation, and potential rivals to Mar-a-Lago to map out the political future. Trump is endorsing governors, congressmen, senators, attorneys general, and secretaries of state. Trump appears to be all in for the off-year elections of 2022 and the presidential election of 2024, and he wants to make sure he controls as many of the chess pieces as possible.
By doing this and appearing so certain, Trump freezes the rest of the possible GOP candidates for 2024. They cannot move if there is a likely Trump candidacy for re-election in 2024.

When Donald Trump took the office of president in January of 2017, one of the first things he did was to put up a bust of former president Andrew Jackson. A current president giving a shout-out to President Jackson seemed odd. Old Hickory certainly is not much favored in today’s woke history and politically correct politics. But upon further analysis, Trump and Jackson do seem similar. Jackson was a populist; put America First; loved America; was foul-mouthed; despised the corrupt ruling class despite his own wealth; and was insanely hated by the Washington, D.C. permanent class. Trump like Jackson, was never accepted by the refined and cultured circles of the D.C. elite.
One thing President Trump did not know back in January of 2017 was just how much he would be like Old Hickory — especially when it came to running for president and a corrupt bargain by his enemies costing him a questionable election.
In the election of 1824, Jackson and three others ran for president. Jackson had the most popular votes as well as the most Electoral College votes — but not enough Electoral College votes to win. John Q. Adams was able to convince Henry Clay to give Adams all of his electoral college votes. And soon after that, Adams gave Clay the position of secretary of state. So within this corrupt bargain, Adams became president, Clay became secretary of state, and Jackson became mad as hell. Jackson called out this “corrupt bargain” for four long and bitter years. The masses, the populists of that time, felt that Jackson had won, and thus they had been cheated out of their own votes.
The corrupt bargain today centers on the Progressive mass media (CNN, MSNBC, ABC, N.Y. Times, Washington Post) and Big Tech (Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Amazon) and their collusion with the Deep State of Washington, D.C.
Andy Jackson came back four years after the first corrupt bargain to win the presidency in the elections of 1828 and then 1832.

Petrochemicals from oil and natural gas make over 6,000 everyday products indispensable to modern society. There are no known alternative substitutes for hydrocarbons. Yet the climate change fanboys catastrophically ignore petrochemicals that provide many indispensible goods.
Europe’s embargo of Russian oil and natural gas, along with the terroristic sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines, is exposing the myth of green energy. As a result, Germany, the poster child for green energy, has resorted to heresy by reactivating its mothballed coal-fired power plants. Unfortunately, importing high-cost natural gas, petroleum, and distillates to compensate for lost Russian imports is insufficient to meet demand. Germany needs a substantial volume of hydrocarbons to produce petroleum-based products (i.e., BASF Chemicals) and sufficient electrical generation; otherwise, it will have to de-industrialize. Good luck with that.

Fifty-seven percent doubted Biden’s mental fitness to serve, while 43 percent said he is mentally fit. Notably, 66 percent of independents had doubts. Thirty-four percent did not.
Doubt about Biden’s mental capacity has ticked up in just a few months among independents. In December, 64 percent of independents doubted Biden’s mental fitness. Overall, 58 percent of respondents said they doubted his mental ability.
The poll also asked respondents, “Do you think Joe Biden is showing he is too old to be president or do you think he is showing he is fit to be president?”

Transportation Security Administration officers in New Orleans stopped a Louisiana man from entering the secured area of the airport with a loaded AR-15-style rifle. The passenger also had 163 rounds of ammunition in his carry-on bag as he attempted to pass through the security checkpoint.
A 52-year-old man from Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, attempted to enter the secured area of the New Orleans Airport on February 14, according to a statement from the TSA. Officers detected a rifle and multiple magazines during the screening of the man’s carry-on bag, officials reported.
Leaked ATF documents reveal the Regime plans to shut down gun stores across America by pursuing a “zero tolerance” policy for revoking federal firearm licenses (FFL).
Gun Owners Of America obtained these documents earlier this month which show the ATF updated its federal firearms license inspection guidance in January 2022. The Biden regime previously announced in July 2021 that they would be updating the guidelines established under the Trump administration.
The new guidelines state the “ATF must establish willfulness” to proceed with cancelling licenses, but the agency “does not have to establish a history of prior violations to determine willfulness.” Furthermore, revocation of the FFL’s license “is the assumed action” with violations.
Once FFLs are revoked, these records are added to the ATF’s digital gun registry which has nearly a billion gun and gun owner records. The new guidance greatly expands the Regime’s ability to criminalize law-abiding Americans and enact a backdoor national firearms ban. Click below to read the full document:
None of this should come as a shock to Americans. The Gateway Pundit last month reported on how the ATF banned millions of guns by reclassifying pistol braces. Violators can receive up to ten years for noncompliance.
GOA previously blasted the ATF for their “illegal gun registry” in their new report on the finalized rule requiring FFLs to maintain purchase records indefinitely.
The group’s report on Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requested documents revealed the ATF “is maintaining a digital, searchable, centralized registry of guns and gun owners in violation of various federal prohibitions.”
GOA wrote in their report that the “ATF has reached a point where it has converted nearly one billion records (required to be kept by FFLs) into a single, centralized, and searchable national gun registry, that is routinely searched by multiple data fields (except, reportedly, by gun owner name).”
A recent study came out claiming that states with tougher gun control showed lower levels of murder and suicide. News media outlets are all over this, but they missed a critical phrasing in their report: those states had less suicide and murder by gun. Their murder and suicide rates were not lower overall. In fact, in many cases, it was higher.
A study by Harvard took a look at firearm ownership, gun laws, and violent crime, and suicide rates around the world. It found that more guns do not equate to more deaths and fewer guns do not equate to fewer deaths. That’s not surprising when you realize that someone who wants to kill themselves or other people, will find a way to do it no matter whether they have a gun or not.
The study shows that the rate of murder and suicide has nothing to do with whether someone has access to a gun or not. It looked at gun ownership in the U.S., Norway, Finland, Germany, France, and Denmark. The high murder rate in the U.S. is the exception, not the rule when comparing homicide rates to gun ownership rates.
In Luxembourg, for example, guns are banned, but the country’s murder rate is nine times that of Germany’s, despite Germany having gun ownership rates 30,000 times higher than Luxembourg.
The USSR took everybody’s guns away. But by the 1990s the USSR had the highest murder and suicide rate in the world. Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania along with countries in Europe showed the same results.
The UK banned most guns. Then the murder rate — involving knives — went up. People had just switched tools.
The study concludes that “where firearms are most dense violent crime rates are lowest, and where guns are least dense violent crime rates are highest.”
When guns aren’t available for killing people, criminals just find another tool.

But National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Chair Jennifer Homendy retorted on Twitter: “PLEASE STOP SPREADING MISINFORMATION” about the cause of the train disaster.

It’s been a year and a half since the Biden administration’s disastrous pullout from Afghanistan, and a new photo released by the Taliban is rubbing salt in the wound.
When the U.S. withdrew from Afghanistan in August 2021, it left a staggering amount of military equipment in the country to be used by the Taliban, including hundreds of aircraft.
Now it seems that the Taliban is putting those abandoned aircraft to good use.
Last week, the Taliban released a photo of three pilots who had just completed their training. According to journalist Asaad Sam Hanna, these men are the Taliban’s “first three pilots in Afghanistan.”
The certificates the three men are holding have images of what appear to be MD-530 helicopters, which were used by the U.S. in Afghanistan. According to the BBC, the U.S. military abandoned some of them in Kabul.
If those are indeed MD-530s on the certificates, it is a pretty safe assumption that the Taliban is training in captured U.S. helicopters and intends on actually using them for military purposes.

A US Navy admiral begged the Cuomo administration to send patients to the nearly-empty hospital ship docked on the Hudson River during the height of the pandemic — but his pleas were met with politics and paranoia, The Post has learned.

A Harvard-led international study published in September 2021 had established that “increases in COVID-19 are unrelated to levels of vaccination across 68 countries and 2947 counties in the United States.”
In an April 2021 release, Pfizer released the implausible results that the vaccine “was 100% effective in preventing COVID-19 cases in South Africa, where the B.1.351 lineage is prevalent.”
The CDC found in July 2021 that the viral loads between the vaccinated and unvaccinated were similar. Thus, the company’s mRNA shots could not be “100% effective” at preventing “cases.”

A group of 24 states has filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), asserting that a newly implemented environmental regulation is unlawful and would have detrimental effects on their residents.
The lawsuit was filed in a federal court on Thursday. The states claim that the regulation targets farmers and landowners and is in violation of the law.West Virginia, Georgia, Iowa, and North Dakota are leading a group of 24 states in the lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The lawsuit claims that the recently introduced Waters of the United States (WOTUS) regulation, which was revealed in December, undermines the states’ jurisdiction over water bodies and the surrounding land. The lawsuit specifically targets the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers, who were responsible for approving the regulation.
In the rule, EPA asserts federal jurisdiction over land and water that has no connection to navigable waters. This goes beyond what the statute provides in the Constitution.”
However, a coalition of 24 states, led by West Virginia, Georgia, Iowa, and North Dakota, filed a federal lawsuit against the Biden administration, arguing that the regulation is unlawful and infringes on their authority to regulate bodies of water and surrounding land.

Half a Million Residents Have Fled California in Just Two Years
Recent census statistics reveal that California has lost more than 500,000 residents over the last two years. That’s 143,000 more people than New York state lost during the same period. Both states have seen massive migrations to red states like Utah, Texas and Florida. In fact, between 2020 and 2022 Texas gained around 700,000 residents, and Florida welcomed nearly 900,000 new residents.

The U.S. House of Representatives quickly approved a $1.7 trillion spending bill funding the government until the end of next September in a win for President Biden and congressional Democrats.
The House passed the more than 4,000-page spending measure mostly along party lines in a 225-201 vote that saw nine Republicans vote for the bill along with every Democrat except Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. Another Democrat, Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, voted present.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is now filing a lawsuit to stop the implementation of the bill.
Paxton said, “because the omnibus spending bill wasn’t passed when a quorum of the House was present, it was never lawfully enacted, is unconstitutional, and the federal government should be enjoined from implementing it.”
Attorney General Paxton is suing President Biden and members of his Administration over the unlawful signing and implementation of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, which was the latest omnibus spending bill.
The U.S. Constitution requires that a quorum of members of the U.S. House of Representatives be present for the lower chamber of Congress to conduct business. When the House passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 in December 2022, fewer than half of its members were present and more than half voted by proxy.
The U.S. Constitution empowers a quorum-less House only to “adjourn from day to day” or “compel the attendance of absent members.” Because “attendance” means physical presence, the U.S. Constitution does not allow voting by proxy to constitute a quorum. And because the omnibus spending bill wasn’t passed when a quorum of the House was present, it was never lawfully enacted, is unconstitutional, and the federal government should be enjoined from implementing it.

One of the 51 to sign the letter, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper is now claiming that it was the media who mischaracterized their words.
Paragraph five of the letter states: “We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement — just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.”
A seven-day human trafficking investigation netted 213 arrests, including a California school board and a Tampa pizza chef accused of prostituting his girlfriend and brought along their 8-month-old baby.

Detectives seized fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana from those arrested during the operation and 54 people were charged with drug violations.

This was a deliberate act of terrorism against the American people.
I noticed the East Palestine train derailed DIRECTLY over 2 drainage pipes (yellow squares). Then I noticed that the orange car (red rectangle) was out of place compared to the cars around it.
Someone DELIBERATELY placed and tipped the orange car which contained toxic chemicals into the drainage culvert which feeds into the Ohio River.
In other words, this was an act of terrorism. And this is some pretty damn good proof.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Republican Governor Mike DeWine said he learned that the train cars were marked as non-hazardous, and thus officials weren’t notified that the train would be crossing through the state.
The governor called on Congress to look into the regulations that would allow a train carrying multiple cars with hazardous substances to be labeled non-hazardous.
“Frankly, if this is true, this is absurd and we need to look at this,” DeWine said. “We should know when we have trains carrying hazardous materials that are going through the state of Ohio.”

A report from Gallup and the Knight Foundation highlights Americans’ plummeting trust in the news media.
According to the poll, half of Americans believe the mass media intends to misinform with its reporting. It’s evident in the data uncovered that Americans are trying to square an imaginary civic vision of the media with the realities of the industry.
The Gallup/Knight survey found that only 26% of Americans hold a favorable view of the news media, the lowest figure recorded in the survey’s five-year history. 53% have an expressly unfavorable view.
But the most notable figure is that 50% of Americans believe that “most national news organizations intend to mislead, misinform or persuade the public.”
In other words, it’s not that these Americans think the news media falls short of adequately informing consumers, they believe it is actively working to deceive the public.
We’re all taught from a young age that a free and independent press is instrumental to the democratic process.
Yet 76% of those surveyed admit that “news organizations are first and foremost businesses, motivated by their financial interests and goals.”

A slew of legal challenges have been filed since Democrat Gov. J.B. Pritzker last month enacted the state’s ban on more than 170 semi-automatic guns.
The state’s motion seeking a delay in its required response to a federal lawsuit challenging Illinois’ gun ban was denied Thursday.
Since Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Jan. 10 enacted the state’s ban on more than 170 semi-automatic guns and magazines of more than 10 rounds for rifles and 15 rounds for handguns, a slew of legal challenges have been filed.
In state court, four temporary restraining orders have been issued against the state from enforcing the law on named plaintiffs. Attorney Thomas DeVore, who filed three of those four cases, motioned with the Illinois Supreme Court to consolidate the cases out of Effingham, White and Macon counties.
In federal court, a Crawford County case was transferred from state court to the Southern District of Illinois. Also in the southern district are separate cases from the Illinois State Rifle Association, the National Shooting Sports Foundation and the Illinois Gun Rights Alliance.
The state has already been ordered to detail “each and every item banned” in its response to three of the federal lawsuits challenging the gun and magazine ban. That order came down Monday.
On Tuesday, Illinois State Police Director Brendan Kelly, Pritzker and Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul sought more time to respond to a request in federal court for a preliminary injunction filed by the Illinois Gun Rights Alliance. That case differs from the three other cases in that it challenges the ban on firearms and firearms parts, not the ban on firearms and magazines.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley this week declared that Russia has “lost” the war with Ukraine, despite the war hitting the one-year mark next week and both sides gearing up for a fight in the spring.

Kari Lake‘s lawsuit to overturn the rigged and stolen 2022 Gubernatorial Election in Maricopa County was dismissed today in the Arizona Court of Appeals, and she now plans to appeal to the Arizona Supreme Court.

A second university has been found to have received more than $6.7 million in anonymous donations from China, including direct funding from the Chinese government, after Joe Biden set up a program there in his name, according to a Government Accountability Institute analysis. The revelation comes following reporting that anonymous China-linked funds flowing to the University of Pennsylvania almost tripled after the inauguration of the Penn-Biden Center, which illegally housed classified documents.
On March 13, 2017, less than seven weeks after concluding his second term as vice president, Joe Biden announced the founding of the Biden Institute at his home state’s University of Delaware (UD). According to the announcement, part of Biden’s “vision for the institute is an annual conference at UD, similar to the World Economic Forum or the Aspen Institute.”
At the time of Biden’s announcement at UD, multiple members of the Biden family were working on deals worth millions of dollars with foreign businessmen linked to the highest levels of Chinese intelligence. And Biden’s other university program at the University of Pennsylvania was apparently housing classified documents from the Obama-Biden administration in an improper way.
In 2020, the year that Biden was campaigning for president, anonymous Chinese state-linked entities sent three more payments totaling $1,005,761 to UD, the bulk of which arrived after Biden had been declared the president-elect.
Three of these donations from China—with a combined total of $1,005,761—were reported as coming from a “Foreign Government Source,” according to the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) records assembled from information reported to the DOE by the University of Delaware.

More than 20 of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking victims were paid through JPMorgan accounts, as the megabank’s former top executives privately discussed abuse allegations surrounding the late predator as far back as 2006, newly unsealed passages of a federal lawsuit reveal.
“These women were trafficked and abused during different intervals between at least 2003 and July 2019, when Epstein was arrested and jailed, and these women received payments, typically multiple payments, between 2003 and 2013 in excess of $1 million collectively,” one of those passages alleges.
The unsealed passages also discuss Epstein’s “close personal relationship” to JPMorgan’s then-senior executive Jes Staley, who later became CEO of Barclays and resigned amid scrutiny over his ties to Epstein.
“Between 2008 and 2012, Staley exchanged approximately 1,200 emails with Epstein from his JP Morgan email account,” the lawsuit alleges. “These communications show a close personal relationship and ‘profound’ friendship between the two men and even suggest that Staley may have been involved in Epstein’s sex-trafficking operation.”
The Virgin Islands claims that Staley apparently sent one of those emails from Epstein’s Little St. James — on Nov. 1, 2009, when Epstein was incarcerated in Florida.
“So when all hell breaks lo[o]se, and the world is crumbling, I will come here, and be at peace,” the email said, according to the lawsuit. “Presently, I’m in the hot tub with a glass of white wine. This is an amazing place. Truly amazing. Next time, we’re here together. I owe you much. And I deeply appreciate our friendship. I have few so profound.”
The Virgin Islands say that Staley followed up a month later with the message: “I realize the danger in sending this email. But it was great to be able, today, to give you, in New York City, a long heartfelt, hug.”
That December, Epstein allegedly sent Staley a photograph of a young woman, whose image is redacted from the lawsuit.
In July 2010, Staley sent an email to Epstein, saying: “Maybe they’re tracking u? That was fun. Say hi to Snow White,” according to the lawsuit.
“[W]hat character would you like next?” Epstein is quoted responding.
Staley answered “Beauty and the Beast,” and Epstein replied: “well one side is available,” the lawsuit states.

Residents of East Palestine, Ohio, and nearby communities who attended a town hall meeting Wednesday night thought they’d have an opportunity to confront officials from Norfolk Southern.
The Biden administration is rejecting a request for federal disaster assistance from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine in the aftermath of the train derailment and ecological disaster that has devastated the area around East Palestine, Ohio.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) told Ohio’s state government that it was not eligible for disaster assistance, a spokesperson for DeWine told Fox News Digital on Thursday. The Dewine spokeseman explained that FEMA believed the incident qualified as a traditional disaster, such as a tornado or hurricane, for which it usually provides assistance.“The DeWine Administration has been in daily contact with FEMA to discuss the need for federal support, however FEMA continues to tell Governor DeWine that Ohio is not eligible for assistance at this time,” DeWine’s office said in an earlier statement. “Governor DeWine will continue working with FEMA to determine what assistance can be provided.”

In a bit of an about-face for Washington based on past officials’ more aggressive posture, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken now says the administration is not actively encouraging Ukraine to seize Crimea.
Specifically the top US diplomat said America is not “actively encouraging” Ukraine to liberate Crimea from Russia, the Wednesday report said.

Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Cory Mills, and George Santos are co-sponsoring a bill to ban explicit books and “end the sexualization of children in schools.”
The bill, H.R. 863, was filed by Rep. Mills last week.
According to the description of the bill, it will “amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit a publishing house from knowingly furnishing sexually explicit material to a school or an educational agency, to prohibit Federal funds from being provided to a school that obtains or an educational agency that distributes sexually explicit material, and for other purposes.”
“The battlefield for the future of our society is being fought within the classrooms of American schools. This bill targets the Left’s efforts to sexualize children in schools across the U.S.,” Rep. Mills said in a statement about the bill.
The congressman continued, “From school board meetings to new representation in local, state, and federal levels, Americans are waking up to the grim reality of woke indoctrination guised as a normal education. No more.”
The statement had a link that said it was to the full text of the bill, but the website was not working at time of publishing.
Rep. Mills’ co-sponsors have not yet released statements about the legislation.
Explicit and sexually charged books being pushed in public schools has become a subject of fierce debate, as many parents have become enraged by the pornographic materials available to their children.
In December, even the American Girl doll company released a book urging children to explore their “gender identity” — complete with tips on how to hide it from your parents.
The book titled A Smart Girl’s Guide: Body Image was written by a far-left activist and is marketed for children aged 3-12.
“If you haven’t gone through puberty yet, the doctor might offer medicine to delay your body’s changes, giving you more time to think about your gender identity,” one passage in the book states. “You can appreciate your body for everything it allows you to experience and still want to change certain things about it.”

In May of 2022 Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis assembled what is called a “special grand jury” to review claims that President Donald Trump attempted to coerce Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to find votes and assist him in winning the November 2020 election.
The “special grand jury” exists outside the traditional justice system and as an outcome cannot produce indictments. It was assembled, for all intents and purposes, as a quasi-grand jury with the intent on creating a continual political effort through a process best described as lawfare.
Essentially, the “special grand jury” is a panel of 26 selected Fulton County, GA, citizens to give an opinion as to whether District Attorney Willis should move toward holding Trump era officials accountable for unlawful election interference. The ‘special grand jury‘ provided the media with feeder material to maintain a narrative; they also heard testimony from 75 witnesses. However, President Trump was never subpoenaed by this ‘special grand jury.’
Because the ‘special grand jury‘ is not necessarily subject to the same rules that apply to normal grand jury proceedings, which strictly forbid any traditional grand jury activity from public release (4th and 5th U.S. Amendment issue), Fulton County Judge Robert McBurney said parts of the narrative from the ‘special grand jury‘ assembly could be released to the public.
To that end, the ‘special grand jury’ suspects that some of the witnesses who testified afore them may have lacked candor in their testimony. The potential for perjury in front of the ‘special grand jury‘ now becomes the issue of focus.
The long awaited important sections of the Georgia report, which do not even mention President Trump’s name, have nothing to do with the President because President Trump did absolutely nothing wrong. The President participated in two perfect phone calls regarding election integrity in Georgia, which he is entitled to do – in fact, as President, it was President Trump’s Constitutional duty to ensure election safety, security, and integrity….
….Between the two calls, there were many officials and attorneys on the line, including the Secretary of State of Georgia, and no one objected, even slightly protested, or hung up. President Trump will always keep fighting for true and honest elections in America!

he Supreme Court is set to reconsider whether to hear a lawsuit alleging President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, former Vice President Mike Pence, 291 House members, and 94 senators violated their oaths of office by refusing to investigate evidence of fraud in the 2020 election before certifying Biden as the victor on Jan. 6, 2021, allowing for Biden and Harris to be “fraudulently” inaugurated.
The plaintiff, Raland J. Brunson, seeks the defendants’ removal from office for violating their oaths.
In his petition for reconsideration, Brunson argues that there must be a penalty for violating oaths of office or else they are “not binding.”
